I can’t believe that some of those who wrote such damning reviews of this medical center were talking about the same place. I have never before been treated so well by an attendant (Zudab) and wish that all of my visits to doctors’ offices and clinics could be so positive. I arrived without an appointment, but that did not prevent my being treated, as if I had one. The center is clean, efficient and convenient for those, like me, who live on the Upper West Side. I shall return, whenever the need arises.

Have been waiting now for an hour because they always delay you to give preference to the ones with appointments. They don’t welcome walk-​ins as they advertise. Always make appointments! Rude employees

Went there today without an appointment and had no problems whatsoever. Waited less than 5 minutes, office clean, guy perfectly nice. Just writing this because I was discouraged by earlier reviews but it really seems fine now.

Better now – I walked in without an appointment and signed in. They took me within 15 minutes.

The CEO of Quest Diagnostics should resign. Customer service was horrendous. Understaffed. Completely rude to people in their office for medical services. Office was dirty. No one ran the front desk or answered the phone. This is in New York City on the Upper West Side. Someone please open some competition. — this pit of despair will go under in six months.

I made an online appt for today at 8:30 AM at 2 W. 86^th St and received an email confirmation a few days prior. I showed up on time (fasting blood test). The lab tech Aisha said I was not on her list and refused to honor my appt. She treated me as if I were an idiot («see, this name is f-​o-​x, which is not your name» and as if I were lying. After waiting 25 minutes, I returned home (nearby) and printed out my confirmation and returned to the lab. AGAIN she refused to honor the appt; instead, the male technician stepped in and said he would take me after his next patient. Then Aisha spent 5 minutes discussing me with the male tech and thanking him for «taking care of it» and calling me «crazy” – very loudly and in open hearing of the entire waiting room. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ALL THE WAY AROUND. 1) What’s the point of making an online appt (and getting an email confirmation) if it does not show in the daily appt list? 2) Why are the technicians allowed to ignore appts even when given proof of the appt? And finally, 3) Why is staff permitted to discuss, criticize and condescend to patients in public? Does Quest not follow professional protocols? I was there at 8:30 until 9:45 PM — just for a routine blood draw.
Have been satisfied with visits to other lab locations.

I’ve been coming to the Quest for over 2 years for blood draws and U/​a with culture. The offices are clean, and the staff is kind and efficient, and draw blood without leaving a bruise. Over the years I have met Micky (?) and a gentleman from Georgia, formerly USSR — they were both professional and efficient even when I come charging in at 3:58. The service offered over the phone — offered by the NJ customer service office — is also good

Shockingly rude and nasty personnel here. If you have been to prison or lived in a war zone, you will love it here.

This place is awful. I had an appointment and still waited an hour (without being acknowledged) before getting checked-​in and getting the blood drawn. They claim to give priority to those with an appointment over walk-​ins. In reality, however, it doesn’t seem to matter whether you have an appointment, they just tell you to sign in and wait.
They are rude and unprofessional. (I was given a hard time because of my doctor’s handwriting. Seriously, what’s their problem???) The blood draw itself was very painful (normally, it doesn’t hurt at all) — 7 hours later my arm is still sore and bruised.
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

This place is not bad at all. Amidst all the reviews I have read while I was actually waiting for my turn. I made an appointment online and only had a one person wait before the lady tech took me in room 1. She was really nice and accommodating on my needs and quite chatty too. The computers froze after she put all my info so it took quite a while till I actually had my bloods drawn. All through the process she was okay and it was just a mild pain after. I left in about 30 minutes which wasnt bad at all.

Avoid this place like the plague.
They are rude, mean, unprofessional & inefficient. People working there just don’t care about anyone other than themselves.
I had an appointment and still waited for 40 minutes before getting my blood drawn, which took less than 5 minutes.
I give blood on a regular basis and nothing hurt more than the blood draw I did at Quest, 4 hours and my arm is still hurting.
Maybe they are overworked and underpaid but regardless, if I need to get any lab work done, I’m avoiding this place.

I was there for a 2 hour gestational diabetes test. 2 hours was very daunting and annoying. I honestly think that doctors order this test for pregnant women as a form of torture. Yes lets make you fast over night, take your blood, make you drink some weird drink then make you sit for an hour with no food or drink still, take your blood yet again, then another hour and you guessed it … a third blood draw. If thats not annoying, then I dont know what is.
This Quest location was pretty good. They were super patient, despite alot of cranky patients trying to pick fights. i was there for 2 hours and witnessed alot of cranky people without appointments or proper paperwork from doctors complaining about having to wait. This is why you can very conveniently book appointments by phone or online. I was there so long, I felt like I was working there and had to stop myself from interjecting during some of these altercations.
My tech, Antigona, was very patient and drew blood flawlessly. Normally I pass out or have anxiety attacks anytime i have to have blood drawn, but she was great. Three times in one day is alot of blood to be taken, but I was able to keep from hyperventilating or passing out on the floor. I mean, thats quite an accomplishment for me.
I would definitely reccomend this location, and especially that tech.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! They insist on appointments and overbook them so they often run upwards of an hour late. If you deign to complain they say they run late like a doctors office. First, my doctors don’t run late. Secondly, informing someone who is fasting for a stupid blood test and waiting on their lunch break to suck it up is unprofessional. I’m paying for a service– provide it instead of attitude and crazy delays.
