I wanted my eyebrows shaped. I have been growing them for a while. He nearly plucked all of my brows off! Terrible job, and expensive!

So happy I found Ramy and finally took my friends advice to go. 100% worth it. He is a brow master and was able to help make me feel much more comfortable with my brows and not make them ‘too feminine’ or ‘overly cleaned up’

I’ve been going to Ramy for nearly a year now, and I cannot say enough positive things about his work as well as his great, down to earth personality. It’s always a pleasure to go to the salon, but when I walk out I feel like I have a new face! It’s worth the extra to have a perfect brow shaping, and he is truly talented. Very modest about his star power as well. Bravo!

I’ve been to Ramy twice for my eyebrows and his artistry is unmatched. I get constant compliments and people asking me if I’ve had Botox (I haven’t). The spa is very welcoming, like Ramy himself, and his concealer is the best I’ve ever tried.

Aside from being funny and charming which makes for a nice beauty experience, Ramy gives good brow. Think you don’t have a natural arch? Ramy knows where it is. Half my brows grow downward which makes them very hard to shape. He has mastered them and it somehow seems like they now grow in better. Having really well groomed brows makes a big difference and it’s so hard to do yourself without ending up with two commas above your eyes. He tweezes and doesn’t leave you red. It’s worth getting them done by the pro.

Although I am not a client of Ramy, my girlfriend is a loyal client, and based on her reaction after every appointment, I felt compelled to write a quick review. She comes home glowing after her appointments, and I know it has to do with the way Ramy and his staff treat her. My girlfriend is naturally beautiful, but Ramy gives her an incredible level of confidence. His work is impeccable and when my girlfriend comes home, she is even more beautiful than when she left, and that is an impossible feat, considering how beautiful my girlfriend is.

For Christmas, a photographer friend of mine offered to take my head shots for a new website. Of course, I wanted to look my best, and I scheduled an appointment with Jason to get my makeup done. Jason is sweet, talkative, and gentle, and made the whole experience fun and relaxing. I loved what he did with my face — I looked amazing, but still really fresh and natural — it wasn’t overdone at all! I even called my boyfriend to come see me during the photo shoot and told him, «I probably look the best I ever will!» I know Jason is new to the business, but I would definitely come back to establish a rapport, because I have a feeling he’ll be a big deal one day soon!

I left the salon practically in tears. I chose this place and paid an exorbitant amount because Ramy has been on «best of» lists for years and is a supposed eyebrow «guru». Well I can tell you that he is very personable and the space was sedate and relaxing. I wish though that he had been a bit more descriptive of what he was planning to do. The only thing he said to me beforehand was that he tends to leave brows on the fuller side and I was happy with that. Unfortunately that is not what he did with me. I should have known — he spent quite a bit of time chipping away at them (while he talked incessantly about himself and his recent health problems). I was literally shocked when he showed me the mirror. I could barely speak. Not only were they too thin, they were jagged. I really do think he got a bit carried away with the scissors. When I pointed out a particularly bad spot he dismissively said «Oh, it figures you’d notice that! You can just fill that in.» And then he quickly and sloppily took a pencil to it (a pencil that minutes later he tried to sell me). When I got home I noticed too that not only were my brows jagged and too thin, there were stray hairs all over the place! You’ve got to be kidding. This guy is a hack. Stay away. I was so traumatized that I haven’t had my brows done since (do them myself).

Hour long make up session.
I bought an hour long make up session from «Living Social» with Ramy Spa. I scheduled my session with Ramy himself. The session was less than an hour about 50 min which would have been ok if I was happy. I was NOT happy. He sat me down on his chair and just started quickly applying make up and telling me about his make up line and the price of each as he applied.
He started so quickly that caught me off guard. He did not ask, what are my concerns, what colors do I like, do I have any particular complaints in any area or not, did not match the make up to my complexion, just used whatever was in front of him and quickly applied it. There was no lessons, no explanations, no consulting me on the feel of the product, whether I liked it or not, or colors!!! The reason it took 50 minutes (because he was done in 15 min), is that he started to tell me the long and tragic story of him having health issues 14 years ago and how a snobby 5^th avenue salon mistreated him. I have all the sympathies in the world to his situation but I paid good money, and am spending my precious time to get a new look. In the beginning I told him that I’m tired of the same old make up that I do every day and want something different.
He DID NOT ask me what is my same old routine so he could come up with something different. However, the entire time he was very consistent in telling me how much each product that he used on me costs and his focus was completely on that. It was obvious that he calculated that people pay the fee to living social and come for the make up application and it is a great opportunity to shove his line down their throats. I hated my make up and came home, washed it off, put my own make up on and went out!

For the amount of money I paid, I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED. I think I paid 100something total. maybe more? I came in liking my right eyebrow than my left. I came out liking my left more than my right. Now, I know expecting perfect brows my first time around is unrealistic. For the money I paid, I was hoping that he’ll teach me or give me advices on how to color in my brows or brow advices & etc. HE DIDN’T give any unless I asked. Also. at the end of session, I commented that my right eyebrows seems a bit higher than my left. & he said to me «our next session, remind me to leave some hair on the bottom» (something along that line). Seriously 100 $!!! And I have to tell you? Aren’t you supposed to be an eyebrow expert??? Wtf did I pay for?!? Ugh annoyed. It’s been months since I was there & people told me that maybe the way it grows out will be good. It’s NOT. For the price. I feel like there was lack of service. Ramy was nice but I feel like I didn’t gain anything from this experience. Also, he was very lenient on giving advices and teaching on how to color your eyebrows but he was very adamant about trying to get you to buy his products. Never will go again.

Ramy is simply AMAZING! I have to admit, at $ 90/​session, I had to really take a leap of faith and was a bit skeptical about the value… that is UNTIL I went for my first appointment. I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed/​shaped/​plucked since I was 15 and they have never in 20 years since looked this great. He literally took years off my face… I now have the perfect, lifted arch that I’ve always wanted. Thank you, Ramy! Worth every penny!

You can get a lunchtime brow shaping in under 15 minutes. You will be back at your desk raising arches of your own from envious colleagues.
Ramy can be pricey, but it is well worth it if you are seeking a makeover or are just frustrated with getting your face burned by wax at other places. His other services include makeup application and lessons, perfect for brides-​to-​be or those just looking to enhance their beauty. Like the diva he is, he also has his own line of cosmetics for women and men! My unisex pick is his studio sticks concealer. It helped me hide a tattoo from mom’s conservative wrath during a family reunion.
He boasts an impressive list of celebrity clientele, but is humble enough not to mention it unless you ask. If $ 50 is more your budget, you can get the same results with an associate. I continue to see Ramy because I’ve trusted my brows to this man since I was in High School, and trust no one else. Although, I cheated on him once and went to Eliza’s Eyes where I paid nearly double the price for 2 minutes of waxing with this «celebrity brow guru». The result: a permanent sad and tired expression until my brows grew out. Never again will I ever stray from you, Ramy. My diva brows are yours forever!
