This place is a gem! I highly recommend the work he does.

I moved away from the neighborhood and always go back for framing. I trust Jamal’s taste and and his commitment to his work. It is always a pleasant experience to brain storm about frames with him and I always walk out feeling well taken of,

Came here to have three artworks framed. A postcard and a very fine painting that I brougt from India and a print. When I came to pick them up the frame of the print was damaged and he agreed to redo the frame. The others looked fine but when I came home I realized that the frame of the Indian painting was not only damaged and poorly done, the painting itself had a hole. I brought it back and he agreed to redo the frame but claimed that the hole was there when I brought it. Which is untrue — when I brought the paintings we were selecting frames and the Indian painting lay in front of us for 30 minutes. One of us would have seen it. So bottom line is two of three frames had to be be redone because they were damaged and one painting with a hole and the shop owner does not take responsibility.

When 3 Elite Unilocalers are raving about a place, you can sort of assume that you are in good hands. I don’t know how the first few reviews came about, but all I’m saying is that this man does not need to toot his own horn, because simply stated, this man… — Happens to be very skilled at framing art. — Does his work in a timely fashion — Does his work with love and pride You just know that the man who runs Ran Art framed tons of artworks in his life already, because you can see the amount of care and craftmanship he puts into his work. It’s okay with me that this place is perhaps not the cheapest in the neighborhood, not the prettiest either per se, but nevertheless not crazy expensive either, considering the quality. A great selection of frames. You can rest assured that once your art is hanging on your wall that it has been taken care of the right way, the first time around. And doesn’t that feel great? I needed two more artworks stretched on canvas, after I had my first artwork framed. The artist referred his friend to me for this specific occasion. Anyhow that framing guy came to my place to pick up the art, and he too was very impressed with the framed piece that was already hanging on my wall. So there you go: Your decision has officially been made. You found a good place that delivers quality products at reasonable prices. Just drop your art off here and move on with your day in peace. You’ll have it back within a week tops. In my case, the owner was so kind to even drop it off at my studio once it was finished.

Ran Art Gallery did a spectacular job with three old photographs and two paintings that I brought in on a Friday afternoon. The owner Jamal is extremely nice, patient, and knowledgeable. I had a general idea of what how I wanted to get my pieces framed, but Jamal made some fantastic suggestions that vastly improved my ideas. For the old photographs(from the 1900s), I wanted to keep the old feel and Jamal suggested a thin brown wooden frame that looked like it was from the 1900s! Exactly what I wanted. For the two paintings, he suggested a blue frame because of blue in the background of the paintings. I would have never thought of framing them in blue, but they came out wonderfully. I asked that they be ready as soon as possible because I had friends coming over the following week and wanted to show off my new pieces and Jamal said he would have them done by Tuesday, which is way faster than I expected! His pricing was also very fair. In fact, I went to one other framing store on the Upper West Side to get a comparison and that store quoted me double the price and said it would take 10 – 14 days. Are they mad? Are you looney? Hell no. I went back and gave my business to Jamal. Support small businesses. Support Ran Art Gallery. You won’t regret it!

I would never take my art anywhere else. In the last year I have had over 10 pieces framed at R.A.N. The owner is delightful man with a great eye. His prices are always fair and his turn around time is often the same or next day. R.A.N. sets the standard for service and selection in Manhattan.

We recently had our ketubah framed by the owner of this shop. He was extremely helpful in designing our piece. He did a beautiful job — and gave us a great price. I will definitely be going back to him to have more pieces framed.

I accidentally walked into this shop with a quote from another and they offered to match the low price. They were very helpful, taking great care of my large poster, and did an excellent framing job with a very fast delivery time.

I can only say the best things about the proprietor of this shop. We recently had 3 items framed by him. The first 2 were pictures. He has a wonderful eye and suggested how to frame the pictures in ways we had not originally considered. We went with his advice and are extremely pleased both by his ideas and the quality of his work. Thw third piece was a large decorative rug. He figured out how to hang it expertly. Further he delivered it for free and on time. The man is both lovely and a true artisan. I would go nowhere else.

Jamal did such a great job with framing my 50s prints — gave very good advice and they look beautiful. He also re-glassed my massive prints at a very good price. He is very easy to work with and delivered on time. His prices were literally 30−40% cheaper than what I was getting quoted at other stores. Would definitely recommend him.

We recently got a few pieces framed here and we are very pleased with the work. The owner is the kindest guy, and has a great eye for detail. He also cut us a really good deal. On top of that, he knocked everything out in 36 hours, which was a pleasant surprise. Great experience!
