Came here for restaurant week with a friend. The server was super nice and adorable. She was very good at answering out questions about the menu. The high ceilings really impressed me. It made the dining experience even more amazing. Also a side note, I really loved their bathrooms and the candle scent. For food, everything was amazing. I had the mixto ceviche as an appetizer. It wasn’t too sour, just the right amount. The corn chips added a nice crunch. As an entrée, the carapulcra was perfect! The pork belly was nicely cooked and it has the right amount fat to meat ratio. The skin was super crispy to add nice texture combination. It was on a bed of potatoes that made the whole dish overall very satisfying! Lastly, the dessert I had was the rice pudding. It was a bit of a miss. The corn chips this time did not add to the dish. Disappointed to end my meal with that.

Food is amazing just on the saltier side. It also took over an hour between our appetizer and entrée to come. Had arroz con pato(duck) and the bread pudding they were both phenomenal! FYI: check in for a free pisco sour

4**** only for food. 1* for service No free pisco sour if dining for restaurant week Seafood rice too salty!!! Tried out the restaurant week menu here and was not disappointed. For appetizers, we ordered the octopus, Meloso, and the hamachi, which was really fresh. Entrees, we ordered the duck rice and seafood rice. I have to say the duck rice was absolutely amazing!!! It was so delicious that I kept wanting more!!! It’s got the green Peruvian«crack» sauce mixed in with the rice and the duck was great! My seafood platter was just ok compared that the rich flavor of the duck rice dish. For dessert, we had the pineapple sorbet and bread pudding. I wouldn’t recommend the pineapple sorbet as it’s really pineapple on top of cinnamon-flavored sorbet(deceptive, I know). The bread pudding on the other hand was amazingggg! It was sooo rich with flavor that explodes in your mouth! I’d come to Raymi just for that bread pudding itself! Now as for the service, it was terrible. From the moment we walked in, we were rushed. Our waitress kept coming to our table every 5 seconds asking us if we are ready. Give us a few minutes, damn it! What’s worse was that they told us that our entrees were ready waiting for us(we were still working on the starters). I told our waitress, well you can serve it to someone else because we are still eating… and she’s like well we will keep in warm in the kitchen… I’m sorry but I’m here to dine and enjoy food, not be rushed by you. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a restaurant that rushed customers in this way. Overall great food but absolutely terrible service. Hope you don’t get my waitress when you come or I’d tell you that you just have terrible luck.

Really enjoyed our dinner. My friends and I split the appetizers and large entrees. Everything was delicious. The quinoa was probably the best I’ve ever had. We really enjoyed the duck and chicken. The rice dipped in sauces was also great. Overall, loved the atmosphere and would definitely return. It is definitely pricier than most places but it was definitely a good meal.

Went during restaurant week and the food was outstanding. I had the ceviche, rice with seafood and the bread pudding(which as other reviews will tell you is a must order). My girlfriend had the skirt steak(which was also amazing) and parmesean fries(which were slightly under cooked for us). We had a few mixed drinks and the service was great. All in all a good meal.

The cevices and appetizers were good, but the main meal was too heavy handed and salty. We had a table of 6 people, and while the service was attentive, our main courses were too salty and dosed in sauces. Peruvian food are lighter in salt, but strong in natural flavors and ingredients such as fresh squeezed juices and spices. Skip the fancy spot, the food is only sub-par.

I went here for Restaurant Week brunch yesterday — and it was a winner. My boyfriend and I split hangar steak, ceviche, roasted chicken, and the pork shoulder and potato bread dish. Everything was perfect. The food was presented beautifully and seasoned to perfection. The balance of flavor and textures, particularly in the pork dish, was standout. I would definitely take clients here or just go for brunch with friends.

Went for Restaurant Week w/a group of 7 and they were able to accommodate and seat us quickly. Great meal and overall, a lovely experience! First– the RW menu was expansive– so many choices! I had the pulpo meloso to start– if you’re a fan of grilled octopus, this is outstanding. Loved it. I had the arroz chaufa for my main, which was also absolutely delicious. A HUGE portion, too– so come hungry! For dessert, I opted for the bread pudding, which had toffee and ice cream– and yum. Washed all of it down with a pisco with passion fruit(a little sugary, but good– I got that just drank a Coke feeling when I finished it) and a glass of wine. Solid pricepoint, very good service and a nice vibe. Can’t go wrong!

Came here for restaurant week and it was so far the best restaurants I’ve been too! Simply 5 stars for the impressive menu, décor and food! The service there was amazing. They do not judge you based on what you order(if you’re going for RW or regular). For RW, you get to choose a small plate or ceviche, a large plate and a dessert. We started off with Ceviche mixto and Jalea(small plate). They were pretty small but it was amazing! Especially the Jalea. There weren’t much squid in my plate but it’s still good. We also had the Pisco Sour and the Mojadita. For $ 7 each. They were pretty good for the amount that we are paying. They do not rip you off with the alcohol content which is why the bar is always full. People go to the bar after work just for their drinks ! The bartenders are also enjoyable to watch. While waiting for your food, we would just watch the bartenders shake up their drinks! We were seating on the high table right across from the bar. For the entrée we had the skirt steak(MUSTORDER!!!) it was juicy and omggood! Tender and soft. The Lomo Saltado comes with rice. This was a bit salty for my taste. But the sauce was still good with the rice. For dessert we had arroz con leche. I personally do not like rice pudding but my BF liked it. I had the Brioche bread pudding and this is a must have !!! The bread was soo good along with the caramel ice cream on top! I would definitely recommend and would definitely be back!

I’ve been to Raymi a few times.(At least once a year for special occasions) and I’ve never been disappointed. The décor is beautiful, the staff are always super friendly and attentive and food is so exquisite! You can’t go wrong with any of the seafood dishes. The seafood is always fresh and delicious(I am a seafood fanatic so I kinda know). Last night a friend and I went to Raymi and enjoyed a lovely 3-course meal(thank you restaurant week) This place serves continuously fresh and tasty food. I can’t wait to go back!

Wow. Best restaurant week meal I’ve ever had. Make a RW reservation here on a whim. Didn’t know anything about the place but I love seafood and I’m always down to try something out of the norm like Peruvian food. Reservation was for Friday at 6:45. Wasn’t too crowded. Really cool décor. Lots of low and hightop tables. Also a nice bar and a ceviche bar. Awesome. Started with some pisco sours. Very good. We were seated and presented with an expansive restaurant week menu. Choice of ceviche or small plate, an entrée, and a dessert. We started with the aji amarillo teridito, which was fantastic. So fresh and great acid and a bit of spice. We also had the ceviche mixto. Very fresh seafood and also great acid. Loved it. Lastly the empanadas with corn inside. Sweet but also good. Next we had the entrées. We had the crispy cod with choclo, awesome. So crispy and fried but flaky and juicy inside. Very good. Next we had the pork belly. It was so juicy and tender. Really delicious. And came on a bed of rehydrated potatoes. Apparently thats a think in Peru. And boy can I see why. They had an amazing consistency and flavor. Very deep and bold spices. Fantastic. Then dessert. We had the rice pudding, which was good but nothing overly special. Also the quinoa brownie, which we thoroughly enjoyed but didn’t care for the accompanying tangerine sorbet. It was a bit over frozen and had ice crystals. Lastly the bread pudding. Oh my god. Like oh my god. Stuff is straight crack. It has this amazing caramel sauce that almost burns onto the bread to make this incredible crusty crispy layer. Probably the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. Overall this meal far exceeded my expectations. The fact that this restaurant hasn’t gotten more acclaim mystifies me. It was superb. Will definitely be returning very soon.

Ate here with a friend about three months ago. I haven’t been to too many Peruvian restaurants before but this was very good. The presentation of the food was nice and the flavors were awesome. Atmosphere was kind of between casual and fancy. Service was a bit slow and impersonal. Prices were good on some items and a bit overpriced on others. Overall I would recommend trying this place out.

3.5 stars. This Peruvian tapas place is very nice. Great décor, modern atmosphere, contemporary vibe. Good food, nice staff but slow, slow service. We were there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and I reminded the waitress if we could do a ‘happy birthday’ on whatever dessert we order and they remembered! Corn empanada — comes in three and it is a delicious cheesy pastry. Good meatless option. Chicharron sliders — very cool. The bread was softer than I thought(which is good and makes it easy to bite into) and the flavors blended well together. Anticucho — the hanger steak was done right. Tender beef and very well flavored. Came with peruvian corn and a type of potato which was okay. Arroz con mariscos(entrée) — this is their version of what everyone else will know as paella. It was a smaller portion that I anticipated(given how we’re all used to large plates now). Entrees are always great to share and this is enough to share if you pig out on the tapas. This dish was a bit too salty for me so I would pass on it next time. Donuts — you can pass on this dessert. It was just another donut trio with lots of syrup — nothing too special. Bread pudding — THIS is what you should order for dessert. Great to share for a group. Comes with six chunks of bread pudding with a delicious ice cream on top. It was a nice crumbly mixture of bread with caramel — really nice dessert and great way to end the meal. The food does take a while to come out so go in knowing what you want so you can put the orders in quick. The tapas were the best and I would highly recommend ordering several of these to start your night at Raymi and end it with the bread pudding. The place is a bit pricey for tapas but it’s great for celebrations and special occasions.

Good food, nice people. Came here for a work dinner. We started off with drinks and they brought little food bits around, the little food bits were amazing. Particularly the chicken. We would have been happy just eating that all night if I’m being honest. The food was also very good. The pork starter was nice but it was the lomo saltado that stood out for me. The steak was perfect. I couldn’t eat all my food but I managed my steak. I made sure of that. The ambience is nice and all the staff were friendly. I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a dinner spot!

Came here during restaurant week and had an excellent meal, start to finish. This was a few weeks back, so I don’t remember what we had as starters, but we had one of the steak options as a main, and also the duck leg. Both were delicious, and the duck, with its garlicky salsa verde and delicious rice mixture side was a standout. Both desserts we got(ice cream of the day and the heavenly bread pudding) really hit the spot as well. I also got a lychee pisco sour, and my boyfriend had the other pisco drink option and we loved them both so much; you could see and taste the freshness of all the ingredients(e.g. real egg in the sour). The staff was also very friendly, and, though they could not accommodate our request(we got sat at the garde manger and I wanted to move but they were very full) the manager came to personally apologize, joke around with/entertain us, and offer us some free champagne. All in all, a lovely spot with a trendy yet intimate vibe. Highly recommend!

I am normally a Restaurant Week hater, but I was happy with my meal here. I thought the venue was great and the service was very warm and accommodating. I have had Peruvian food a few times in the past and this was definitely a respectable, upscale version. The restaurant has a modern look and feel, so don’t come in dressed like a schmo. The food: Jalea– Shrimp, squid, corvina, yuca, salsa criolla, aji amarillo tatar sauce. I have had this version at other restaurants and the version here is more on the simple side. The fried seafood was prepared well, the seafood was nicely fried and not greasy but it needed some pop. It felt like it was just fried seafood with some pickled onion on top. Ceviche Mixto– Aji rocoto, corvina, shrimp, squid, octopus, sweet potato. I thought the ceviche was pretty good, the flavor was nice but it didn’t have a lot going on. Anticucho– Hanger steak, aji panca, choclo, confit potato, rocoto sauce. I really enjoyed the flavor of the hanger steak, but I felt the steak was on the chewy side. Carapulcra– Roasted pork belly, andean style potatoes, roasted peanuts, salsa criolla. I really enjoyed the flavor of the pork belly, I also liked the nice crispy skin on top, my only criticism was the pork could have been a tad more tender. I also enjoyed the sauce, it had a nice essence of potato with nice chunks. Cau Cau– Cod, mussels, clams, aji amarillo, choclo, peas, carrots, potatoes, cilantro, jasmine rice. I thought the fish was cooked very nicely, I really liked the crispy top part of the fish. The sauce had a nice richness that went well and the jasmine rice was a nice buffer. Arroz con Pato– Crispy duck leg, cilantro jasmine rice, dark beer, salsa criolla. I liked the flavor of this dish, the duck was nice and crispy and juicy, the cilantro jasmine rice had nice flavor but the duck was a tad salty.
Peruvian chocolate and banana Helado– I really liked the ice cream, the Peruvian chocolate had such a great texture and chew. This was my fav dessert. Brioche Bread Pudding– Brown butter ice cream, toffee, raisins, almonds. I thought the pudding had nice flavor but so mind numbingly sweet. I could only muster a few bites.
Arroz Con Leche– Rice pudding, chicha morada, granola. The rice pudding had a nice punch from the fruit, it really exploded but the rice had no flavor. I also didn’t care for the texture of the rice, seemed somewhat grainy.

Never had Peruvian food besides Pio Pio so this was going to be interesting. The food was good enough for a 4 star review but that’s only because giving it 3 would just be mean. Ended up with restaurant week menus. — Mixto ceviche was good but so little. — steak appetizer was good — the fried platter of nothing but fried seafood was good. They give a lot. — Duck was almost inedible for me. It was way too salty. — My fancy fish dish was okay at best. Came with a nice surrounding broth to dip rice in. — the pork belly entrée looked huge. As for taste… It was decent. The dessert was great. Get the bread pudding and the Peruvian chocolate ice cream. You won’t regret it

We came here for restaurant week and we overall had a good time. FYI: Free pisco sour drink with check-in did not apply to those participating in restaurant week. No biggie. We all ordered white and red sangrias which were okay. It was also very weird that they didn’t serve sangria by the pitcher. Service was phenomenal and I really appreciated that. For starters: we ordered the corn empanadas which were creamy and cheesy inside, the pulpo meloso(octopus) which was surprisingly very good, and the gluten free anticucho(hanger steak). The anticucho came with the biggest corn pieces we have ever seen. For entrees: we ordered the arroz con pato(duck leg) and lomo saltado(hanger steak). The cilantro jasmine rice that came with the duck was amazing and the duck was very crispy and tender and literally felt off the bone. Also the lomo saltado had a very interesting soy sauce dressing. For desserts, we ordered the bread pudding, sorbet, and a port dessert wine. The bread pudding was sweet but heavy and the sorbet had a very interesting cinnamon flavor. Overall, we were all pleased with the food and had no complaints.

AHHHMAZING. Since it is Summer Restaurant Week 2015, I decided to come early to check out their happy hour as well. It turned out to be the smartest decision that I made all day. Happy Hour — 5−7pm Mon, Wed-Sat. Sun & Tues. All night. 1) Pisco Sour — It was very well balanced. Delicious. 2) Chilcano — Well balanced as well but definitely could have used more real ginger or a slice of ginger to chew on. 3) Red Sangria — This was just okay but presentation was very good. 4) Pisco Punch — Great pineapple taste. 5) Mojadita — This is just a Pisco version of a regular Mojito. Minty. Overall, for happy hour it was great service, great drinks and those salted bar peanuts… WIN. Now, onto the dinner. I had a reservation at 7:15pm and I made sure to let the hostess know that we were all by the bar in complete party. Sure enough, 7:15pm arrived and the hostess came to get us and our table was right in the center by the window view for people watching. Now, that’s classy. You know what is even more classy? Their fancy bathroom napkins that only fancy places have. Soft as a down pillow yet tougher than Bounty. Loving it !!! While we are on the topic of bathrooms which are located down the stairs, the size of the lavatories seemed a bit small. I’m merely referring to walking in where you meet the toilet bowl in close proximity. The bathroom(s) itself was clean and well maintained. The DINNER — It was AHHHMAZING. As a general plan, my party and I all agreed to just order a different dish for all 3 courses prixe menu so that we can maximize our tasting menu. 1st Course — 1) Mixto — the ceviche was really fresh and the sauces were amazing. A little side note, they also had a ceviche bar just for making ceviche in front of the regular bar for drinks. Check them out. 2) Anticucho — this hanger steak was exactly 4 pieces in wooden skewers. Ironically, our party was for 4. Couldn’t have worked out better. The steak was divine and I like mine’s well done but I think my co-workers ordered it medium. Really good. The one giant piece of plantain was a nice touch. 3) Papa A La Huanchaina — Quail Eggs is all you really need to know. So good. The potatoes was just a sidekick. 4) Jalea — I can’t even put into words. 2nd Course — 1) Salmon — Again, freshness counts. it was a bit salty but the cherry tomatoes balanced it out. The fried banana was unique with fish. 2) Lomo Saltado — Hanger steak for the win again. Tender, juicy and oh so good. Kind of wish that the fries were yuca instead of regular french fries though. 3) Arroz Con Pato — You had me at duck. Really moist. 4) Pollo A La Brasa — Fries were the thick kind. The chicken was okay. Didn’t blew me away. 3rd Course — 1) Brioche Bread Pudding — If you don’t get this for dessert, then I guess you like missing out on things. You’re welcome. So good that we ordered 2. 2) Quinoa Brownie — Very sweet. Very delicious. 3) Helados — Ice cream and cone. Simple. Dessert Drinks — 1) Piscello — Passion fruit flavor was über strong. Just the way I like it. Although, I would have much more preferred it to be in a bigger glass than compared to the miniature Mai Tai glass that it was served in. The service was impeccable overall. The one very minor hiccup was when our waiter forgot to bring my Piscello until I reminded him. No biggie. The man with no title which is also the manager Giovanni really knows how to take care of guests as he not only showered us with recommendations and general cordial conversations but also some champagne to top off the night. What a night it was. SUPERFAN.

I wish that I could give them 6 stars! Fantastic! I came here with my fiancée during Restaurant Week. One thing that was great about Raymi was they didn’t water down their Prix Fixe menu. You simply got to pick one appetizer, one entrée, and one desert off their regular menu. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Very modern and open. The service, from host to servers to bussers to managers were all super warm, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We started with the Mixto Ceviche, a nice citrusy combination of octopus, squid, diced fish, and sweet potato. It was honestly one of the best ceviches I have ever had. The octopus and shrimp were soft and tender, the fish was still firm, and the marinade had a perfect balance of acid, sweet, and salt. We also ordered the Pulpo Meloso, grilled octopus with a citrus mayo and crispy quinoa. So Good! The octopus was incredibly tender and the crunch from the quinoa made a perfect compliment. For entrees, I got the Lomo Saltado, grilled hanger steak with a brown gravy and french fries. This was a very elevated version of the dish, and I was in heaven. The steak was perfectly cooked, pink in the middle and still juicy and tender. The gravy had a rich beefy flavor, and the french fries were crispy and perfect for sopping everything up. My fiancée got the Cau Cau, Seared cod with mussels and clams. The sauce had a beautiful briny clam flavor that tied everything together beautifully. Again, the cod was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy on the inside with a crisp hard sear on the outside. I usually don’t get(or need) desert after a great meal like this, but it came with the deal, so… why not. They had a choice of Arroz con Leche(Rice Pudding), Bread pudding, or ice cream. I’m actually not a fan of rice pudding or bread pudding. However, I figured I would give the bread pudding a try, it came with Brown butter ice cream and a praline sauce. WOW! This is the best bread pudding I have ever had. It wasnt really a bread pudding. The pieces of bread had more of a cake texture than a gooey typical bread pudding texture. I definitely preferred this version. The ice cream and praline sauce were outstanding. The staff was so friendly. The server brought over a spoon when he saw that I hadn’t finished the liquid at the bottom of the Ceviche bowl, telling me that is the best part. The manager came over just to chat a couple of times, and even brought over two complimentary glasses of champagne when he found out we were engaged and getting married soon. I can’t say enough about Raymi. I will definitely be back… and will bring friends!
