Quick, authentic slice, outdoor seating, great for people watching. Downside, an outstanding amount of construction nearby(loud and messsy).

The pizza here is solid. Skip the cheese slice which you can get for $ 1 at other pizza spots and treat yourself to one of their more expensive slices. I think it’s worth the $ 5. Huge slice, tasty toppings and a perfect crunch to the crust and base. I had the pulled chicken and jalapeño and it exceeded my expectations for what appears to be a touristy spot.

Disgustinggggg… The staff never get the order right & the butter taste stale and old. It was so nasty. I ordered from my job which is literally two blocks away and when they messed up my order I made them deliver the right bagel and it took an. Hour and a half to send a new one. Smh horrible service. And the lady was so rude on the phone

For the price of eight dollars and change on one slice & drink I’m already in the mood to write a negative review. With that said, the place isn’t bad. The dinning area is roomy, there’s outdoor seating, service is descent, and they serve beer. I visited this pizza joint about four days ago & had I little trouble remembering what I ordered. Well guess I could say it was a bit forgettable. After scrolling though my phone, I saw that I ordered a BBQ Chicken slice & it was ok. It’s not the best pizza in nyc, but just ok.

Pizza is not my favorite but when you are slightly drunk and its late at night… it just what you need! and so I made my way to this pizza place and was really not overwhelmed with anything. not the place, not the pizza, not the prices. To sum it up: Below average.

This is such a great pizza spot!!! I loved it. It was my first time there and I was amazed at all the different toppings that they had. The green pepper and onion pizza was just deliciously awesome! The pizzas might be pricy than regular pizza places. But trust me it is worth it! The place seem pretty clean and the ambient outside of the pizza shop is just great! Definitely going back sometime soon.

Rays Pizza NY Manhattan St Marks 11:59pm 14th May 2016 Two Stars I have other Ray’s Pizza and this is not the one to go unless you have had 8 – 10 beers. I waited for what felt like an entirety while two drunk girls tried to order 2 slices of Sausage Pizza to the worker who didn’t seemed to speak or understand too much English. I had a Pepperoni and Pineapple Slice($ 5). It was decent size. The crust was soggy. The sauce was a bit burnt. The toppings were not evenly distributed. The 6 slices of pepperoni and canned pineapples were all over the place. Overall, pizza was awful but still satisfying after signing Karaōke and drinking all night.

Absolutely delicious! Came here because I heard such good things. I’m picky about pizza, also, I have never had New York pizza ever, tried another place in New York but definitely wanted to try pizza from different parts of New York. The sauce on the pizza I had was delicious, the sauce tasted fresh, the toppings were good, the cheese was stretchy, how all pizza should be. I also had the mozzarella sticks, super crunchy, nom! It was very affordable, definitely need to go back soon.

Great pizza. Originally came in for an egg bagel(my fav) but they didnt have it. So I have a slice with fresh mozzarella and basil. That plus a bottle of water $ 6.15. More than I planned on spending but the pizza is good. The seating area is clean so that’s a plus!!!

Horrible horrible horrible!!! Got the chicken pasta big mistake!!! More noodles than anything with a teaspoon of cold marinara sauce because the noodles weren’t cold enough smh. I work next door decided to walk down to show them what I got and if they can change it they said no you got what you paid for! so I decided to get my money back he said fine once at the register he changed his mind and said I can’t you need a receipt being that I paid in cash and he didn’t give me one seems impossible. As of customer’s always being right apparently not at rays! If I could give them zero stars I would! Besides being disrespected belittled & hustled out of my hard earned $$$ I’m still running on an empty stomach on this 8 hour shift I have to do! Smh f**k rays!!!

Pizza was okay. I thought it needed seasoning very badly. Person in our party who ordered pepperoni said it was good. Spices from pepperoni must have added Rome needed spice.

On this cold evening, I walked in and ordered three slices and a «pizza bagel» to go. The cashier handed me a box and it felt way too soon. I asked«are you sure it’s hot? I want it really hot» The man said«yeah boss, really hot!» I briskly walked back two blocks and put the box on our table. Everything was almost at room temperature. Everything was disgustingly sweet… awful place

I ordered the make your own panini and pick three ingredients and they forgot to Add two of them(the sun dried tomatoes & roasted red pepper) also forgetting the honey balsamic dressing on my sandwich in addition. I know they must have read the instructions on the order cause they didn’t give me the cheese as I asked please NOT too. I think there just being cheap buy skimping on the sandwich ingredients. This place always messes up my order. My husband ask why I always order when I know they’re going to disappoint but it’s the only place that delivers early in the morning hours. Also I wanted to add a Coke to my order and it’s not available on their menu but they sell it in the store there. They should make that an option.

We ordered 2 slices and what we got was barely lukewarm pizza. This is a place simply trading on the famous name of «Ray’s» but coming nowhere near to the quality of a REAL Ray’s Pizza! If you want GOOD pizza, go to Lombardi’s in little Italy. The stuff at this so called«Ray’s» just isn’t worth the money!!!

Didn’t even realize this was the«famous» Ray’s until I Unilocaled it. I certainly wouldn’t have realized it from the slice of pizza I was eating. It’s conveniently located across the street from the St. John’s Manhattan campus building, so naturally this is where I go for lunch. I’m not blown away, but I’m eating it. Pizza is good, slices are huge, prices are high. I’m hungry though, so I’ll be thankful I can afford such an expensive slice.

The other reviews are wrong. First of all, this is solid 4 star NYC pizza at an appropriate price of the ‘hood. Having said that… In the midst of a snowy maelstrom so strong, we felt too bad for the delivery guy to come up 6 flights of stairs; we called for takeout. And let me tell you… These guys prepared the best deli burger we have ever had, very nice crispy fries, a juicy Philly, and a great chicken Caesar salad during a time when we thought were stuck cooking ramen out of a slower cooker. Delicious food and workers that come through for you when you really need it. NYC’s finest might be right there at Ray’s Pizza and Bagel on St. Marks.

I thought this place was super good. Great meatball subs, then again that was my first NY sub. Everything is a little overpriced though.

Yestarday I ate at a new 99 cent pizza joint on Ave A and today I ate at Ray’s. Wow!!! 5 dollars per slice no thanks!!! what’s really sad that the 99 cent place pizza actually tasted better. NORAYSFORME. Good location though if you want sit outdoors and check out people otherwise skip it.

Well — this place has more than bagels. Think — — flatbread sandwiches — pizza — bagels — salad I had a chicken club sandwich with chips and a pickle. With NY Deli — you can tell the mettle of the place by the pickle. This was da bomb. So – check it out. Fresh and friendly and fast! service. Close to the University and 51 Astor

Pretty much the only time I’ll go here is after a night out as its open 24 hours and just a couple feet away from where my boyfriend lives. It’s definitely pricier than 2 bros dollar slices down the block but the slices are huge and satisfy that late night craving.

Talk about about great customer service ! I walked in and noticed one of the chefs was making his own custom burrito that wasn’t on the menu. I asked him about and said he would make me one ! Ugine was the name of the cook. I’m from California and this was my first pizza spot I came too ! I’m glad I stopped by the place ! I came out with a huge smile on my face and a big huge belly haha ! Don’t hesitate to stop by.

The guy behind the counter compliments my hair — BOOM. One star. They have white pizza made with fresh ricotta — BOOM. One star. Crazy selection and variety of pizza toppings. — BOOM. One star. Rubbing shoulders/people watching with interesting and hilarious drunks. — BOOM. One star. This is a place you go after a night on the town. Don’t get delivery. You need to see it to experience it. And for us non-native-New-Yorkers, it makes us feel like we’re in the movies, foldin’ over a slice at Ray’s, watching the cars go by.

I don’t proclaim this to be amazing and an all time fave, but, it is pretty good. Located on the corner of St. Marcs Place there is always something interesting going on, be it a bar fight, a drunken collection of asian girls buying me vitamin water or a local festival, etc. etc. this is a decent place to stop for quick a slice or two. it’s sorta declined over the years however, so take it or leave it for what it is.

WHYCANT I STOPEATING… Meh… i feel like the quality has gone way down over the years and it wasn’t even that great to begin with… the half of the there that was actually good has virtually vanished… every time i walk pass this place always seemed deserted… the bagels are OK… but that’s about it… the pizza is rubbery… the toppings are small and they really skimp on toppings… if all you need is nourishment and fuel… then it will work but this is not the place to bring people you are trying to impress like your parents or coworkers…

The only thing famous at this place is the word famous in its name. For unsuspecting outsiders, this place may seem like the bomb with a huge array of pizzas with all permutations and combinations of toppings you can imagine. But the pizza is pretty ordinary and there ain’t nothing famous about this place. So grab the pie you want and enjoy it without any grand expectations and you’ll do just fine.

Cheap as fuck. No credit card min is a plus. Do not get delivery via seamless it will take forever. Going in is not much better… Pretty unkempt and dirty. Would not be surprised if it got like a C health rating but I’m not sure(didn’t check). Things I’ve gotten: pizza, fries, bagel All are pretty hard to fuck up. Nothing was wrong with them but the only time I would come back here would be at like 2am — that type of place. For desperate situations.

It sounds like this place is a whole other animal at night with drunks making asses of themselves. We went in the middle of the day so there weren’t many people there and those who were there weren’t being drunk fools. I had a white slice with ricotta which was really good. The crust was okay — it’s no Pepe’s(disclosure: New Haven style apizza for lyfe, yo) Price was pretty reasonable — I’ll probably go back to try some different stuff!
