I just had my haircut at Rebirth and I am quite pleased. Ryuji listened very closely to me and then restated what I had asked for to make sure he had it right. It was clear that he is very skilled at his craft. He was so meticulous.
I have extremely thick hair that is very hard to manage, he thinned it out beautifully.
I had been going to the same salon for many years, when my stylist told me his rates were going up to $ 175 for a haircut, I knew it was over.
The haircut I received today was just as good, if not better than the old salon and cost a much more reasonable amount.
I highly recommend this salon.

This is the BEST haircut I have ever had. I had long hair all my life, and I asked him for a change. He shorten my hair a lot and it looks amazing! I have sent everyone in my family and they were as happy as me. The hair dresser is so meticulous, he takes his time and work until the cut is perfect. He has a great taste. I am so happy that I found this place, I would never go someplace else!

Ryuji, the Japanese hair stylist who runs Rebirth is the absolute very best. I was introduced to him for highlights several years ago and he now cuts my hair, too. I followed him downtown when he moved to the East Village from midtown. Relaxing atmosphere, lovely salon. Give him a try, you’ll never look back!

The other day, I ran into a friend of mine got his hair cut so nicely and asked him «Where did you get it?» and he said, «Rebirth in East Village.»
When I looked up the price on the website, I thought it was a little bit expensive. But it turned out that it was totally WORTH it. My hairdresser Ryuji took a long time and he reflected every request I made! You would be definitely satisfied not only with the result but the experience there.
