Oh Sal, What has happened to you and your pizza? When I started working in the Lowe East Side, about 9 years ago, I use to love this place. The pizza was great. I would always get the mushroom, the regular or the tomato and basil slice. But in the last couple of years Sal, on his attempt to cut down his expenses, has opted for cheaper ingredients. What a terrible idea! I am sure the drunk customers who walk around Stanton St. in the early mornings of the weekends can’t tell the difference, but I can. If you are not drunk or in a rush I recommend skipping this place and walking three extra blocks to what I think is the best pizza in the Lower East Side. Williamsburg Pizza(don’t be fooled by the name this place is really in LES on Allen and Broom) is hands down the best pizza in LES right now. Their crust is amazing and all of their ingredients are incredibly fresh. I am sad to say that I don’t see myself eating at Rosario’s again, at least for the next couple of months maybe years. Unless, I am drunk or in a incredible rush just to get a quick bite, I much rather walk the extra blocks or not eat pizza at all. I agree with other reviews about the cleanliness of this place. You can pretty much always find dirty paper plates, used napkins or sauce droppings on the tables, and don’t get me started on the black floors. I guess Sal doesn’t believe in bleach. Oh, and if you are a guy Sal won’t even say hi to you. He only talks to the girls and is friendly to them. I don’t blame him, I would probably do the same, except that I am not the manager of the place. P. s. Sal, Please stop grabbing people’s pizza with your dirty hands as you try to heat them up!

Wondeful place for late night pizza after dancing at Arlene’s grocery. Good people, good food, good accommodations.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I’ve been eatting Rosario’s pizza for ten years, and it used to be pretty damn good. But after a string of terrible experiences, it’s clear to me this place has gone downhill in a major way. The owner is a grumpy, bitter old man who’s rude to customers and condescending to women(based on my last two visits). The pizza is overly greasy, the crust is mediocre, and the cleanliness of the restaurant is questionable. The pizza isn’t worth the money, and it’s definitely not worth the ‘tude you get from the owner. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

Great New York pizza, just the way it was meant to be made. And reasonable prices. But the star of this joint is Sal! He is an absolute treat. You feel like you are part of the family. Sal will make up any slice you want on the spot and serve it hot(unlike some of Rosario’s competitors).

Please try the Caprese slice! Super fresh tomato slices, mozzarella and garlic, and they always heat it to the perfect crisp. Every tomato slice has a perfectly placed basil leaf on it, little details like that are an indicator they really make it with care. My only qualm is that the regular slices are a bit greasy, but come for the speciality slices for a nice alternative to typical pizza. The owner is always so nice too.

The eggplant slice is to die for. Best pizzeria on the lower east side.

As my friends and I were drunkenly stumbling around the area, all I could dream about was pizza and then I saw Rosario’s. I got a slice of mushroom and I don’t know what it was about it, but memories of my childhood came flooding back to me of eating pizza. It was crispy and cheesy and tasted great! Definitely would go back even sober during the day!

Yummy late night pizza place. Not a huge selection on the counter, but it is a Sun night post-blizzard! Would definitely visit again.

Worst pizza ever and will not let patrons use the restroom. The owner is a very mean man and does not respect paying customers. I will never come back to this pizza place. Bottom line — stay away

Absolutely terrible! The service here is a joke. No customer service whatsoever. The guy just quickly asked us what we wanted, and seemed annoyed that we were even there. He had this pissed off look on his face. Then, when I went to pay, I was waiting for my change and he just closed the register and went onto the next person!!! Like, hello, that’s called stealing. As for the pizza, it was soaking in grease and not worth what we paid(or overpaid). Get it together, people.

So. We’re from Ohio and love NY pizza. We visit every year for vacation and after the Slipper Room we get Rosario’s(directly across the street). The first year we were wasted but I raved about this pizza and craved it when I went home, but we weren’t sure if it was just delicious because we were drunk, so the following year my boyfriend and I gave it the sober test, and it passed with flying colors. Amazing, cheap, open late. Get the margarita pizza!!!

Dam good pizza on Orchard, sober or drunk, their regular slice of pizza has always been one of my favorite slices in NYC for years. At $ 2.50 a slice, it’s still a bargain.

My favorite pizza out of all I have tried in NY. It has a nice, thick cheese layer and a doughy crust. My ideal pie!

I grew up on Allen St. and had Rosario’s pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This place is certified nostalgia for me. This place is what NYC pizza is all about. This place makes me forget my lactose intolerance. Cheers to you Rosario’s for surviving the gentrification of the LES. Keep serving up those slices.

Solid pizza spot! Their spinach-ricotta is probably my favorite slice here, but I’ve liked everything else I’ve had as well. I live in the neighborhood and it’s one of my go-to spots. The owner has also been managing and working there actively for the last 52 years! I’m reading a few reviews about him having an attitude but he’s always been really sweet to me and I’ve never seen him snap at even the drunkest and chaotic people that swing by this place in the middle of the night. His hearing is a little bad so maybe that’s where some of the perceived rudeness was coming from. Anyway, total respect for Rosarios and hope it stays around past all of the gentrification and rent hikes!

Really forgettable and greasy regular $ 2.75 rather than $ 2 as written elsewhere, and not to be confused with the much-lauded

Inconsistent pizza. I’ve been going here for a while and honestly I don’t know what’s going on anymore. The owner himself is there so you would think it would be run on point. Instead, I was a victim to his attitude because he’s probably tired of working there all the time. Pizza could be good about 20% of the time but the price remains high. There are plenty of alternatives in the lower east side so everything should be on point as much as possible. Advice: LOWERTHEPRICE, CLEANYOURTABLESANDDONTGIVEYOURREGULARSANATTITUDE.

This place is garbage. The pizza I got fell apart and was too greasy. The other slice was spinach ricotta in which the spinach was stringy and gross. The icing on the cake was how I give the guy 20 $ and he gives me 2 $ back, I tell him and he gives me a lot of attitude. I’m like dude, you cant do math its not my problem but you’re stealing my money. In any event it was so bad that I literally went to another pizza place later in the night to wash out my taste buds of the memory of this place. HOWDOESONEMESSUPPIZZA? You guys have accrued a skill unknown to man. Congratulations.

One of the better slices I’ve had in New York. Plus, you get the feeling that this place has been around a long time(which it has). Greasy, fast and hot. The crust is really good and matches up with the rest of the slice well. A fitting end to the pizza. $ 2.50 for a slice of cheese. Pretty darn authentic
