This place hands down has great food!!! Authentic and delicious. I am a frequent customer since I work in the area. Prices are great, a small lunch with salad $ 5. What is a hit and miss and the reason for only 4 stars are the servers. One in particular ugh she seems to be saving the food I don’t know for who, it’s like she counts the grains of rice and pieces of meat she puts in. I hate that!!! Especially since I am in there 2 to 3xs a week for the last 2 yrs. Then you have those that are generous with how they serve, they’re awesome!!!

Got a quick dinner to stay and it was delicious. Service was friendly and fast, very attentive. Note, each day features special dishes and they can quickly go with popular demand. Pernil ran out, drats. Luckily we got two steak plates, beef and cheese empanada, a pineapple soda all for under 20 $. The steak was delightfully tender and flavorful combining the rice. Excellent portioning too. On the side, the beef and cheese empanada was excellent. Crispy and gooey with plenty of meat flavor through each division. Plus, they kept churning fresh empanadas out after our order, and this was near 6:30p. With so much food, the delectable desserts on display will be enjoyed on our next visit, which we’ll be back soon. Got each eye on the flan and tres-leches.

I can’t bow for the lunch/dinner cooking since there’s not many vegetarian options other than some sides. But the breakfasts are great and inexpensive. You HAVE to try the oatmeal… Caribbean recipe(limey). Their cakes are some of THEBEST in the whole city. Especially for the Dominican style. Just get a biscocho… you’ll be back for mo’

As a foodie living on a college student budget, I’m all about filling but affordable and tasty food. This satisfies all three requirements. I ordered 2 large plates, one with pernil and the other with chicken guisado. The large plates are $ 7 each and come with rice and plaintains. Additionally, I had to try the chicken and cheese empanada which was just out of this world. Probably the best empanada I have ever had. This was all washed down with 2 juices: one mango and the other passionfruit. I was very, very pleased. The only negative I would say is that the large plate foods could be a little warmer when served and the pernil could be a little more juicy.

Tip to the newcomers of the neighborhood: they don’t have iced coffee but are very accommodating and mix hot coffee with ice. It’s an Ave c classic neighborhood spot. For about $ 5-$ 8 dollars you can get an over filled lunch platter with mixed chicken rice and beans. My Tip: get a mix of empanadas to go. Easy to eat and filling is always moist — this is not an easy feat.

Fantastic food, great price. Ordered a huge plate of rice and beans with chicken and maduros and a snappel for under 9 bucks, and the best part is the food was fantastic. The staff is friendly and patient, though I gotta say the place is too small to bring the whole family but definately worth going to if you eating alone or taking out. been there twice, Will go back again. If the food is this good the 3rd time it might get the 5 th star

Chicken empanada was delicious! This was also the first time I tried oatmeal and was surprised that it was in a cup and that I was supposed to drink it. It was pretty good!

This place is my boyfriend and i’s favorite place to go to grab a quick and amazing meal. If it’s for breakfast we will grab a sugar donut which is the most amazing donut I’ve ever had, a chicken and cheese empanada, and an iced coffee. If it’s lunch or dinner we will get the huge $ 7 plates where you choose rice and a meat dish. They change up daily but my favorites are the pork or the ribs. And if you don’t feel like rice and meat then you can order other food on the menu for them to make! The food is great but the people there are amazing. It’s to the point where my boyfriend is in there almost everyday, sometimes twice a day, so they know what we want right away. Everyone is so nice and you can tell they enjoy what they do.

Incredible, hearty Spanish food. There’s something so magical about rice, beans, and meat that just makes my heart sing. Real food for a very good price. The rice, bean, and meat dishes range from($ 5 – 7) and they give you a TON of food. It’s also amazing quality as well. This place seems like somewhere the locals frequent and I can see why. There’s a very family oriented atmosphere and for the price, you can’t beat what you get! The meat is tender and the beans seem as if they’ve stewed for hours. I also prefer the rice with pigeon peas to the white rice, though both are good. The combination of the three are incredible whichever way you swing it. In regards to the empanadas… THATISWHAT I’M TALKINGABOUT! My empanadas quest is over. They’re light and flaky with meaty goodness trapped inside. Each empanadas is $ 1.25 and $ 1.50 if you want the meat and cheese option. Overall, incredible food. Highly recommend!

I come to Rossys Bakery to enjoy their food at least 3 – 4 times out of the week. It’s amazing, filled with flavor & they never disappoint me. They as well sell passion fruit juice which is extremely hard to find in any restaurant located in the Lower East Side.

I have yet to try their pastries, but their Spanish food is a good reason to come back. They have some pre-cooked homestyle food behind the glass case. I’ve had their pernil, short ribs, and baked chicken. Any of those options, coupled with, rice and beans, maduros, and a tangy little salad, make for a very filling, satisfying meal.

Very nice vibe, good place for inexpensive home style puerto rican comfort food dinner on the same street as the Nuyorican Poets Café(which does not serve food) and just a few blocks from a few new DT bars with the newest residents in the area. Nice discovery.

Came in around 1pm for lunch and saw that they had the usual fare of food, i.e. rice, beans, and 4 – 5 different meats for you to pick from. The combination just described costs $ 7, and like I mentioned in an earlier review I wrote for them, their portions are quite generous. The difference this time, is that I came at lunch time when I would hope their food is still relatively fresh. Might be placebo, but I found their food to be a tad bit better so I bumped up my 3.5 star rating to 4 stars instead. However on a negative note their food was quite saltier than I remember it to be. Either way, for the cost it’s a good deal so I’ll be coming by every so often to sustain myself.

Great Dominican Cake. I have been using this place for years to buy cakes for all occasions. I even got one for a farewell party at my job and everyone LOVED it. Highly Recommend this place.
