I’ll admit that the name threw me off. What the hell kind of tools would you find in store called «S&M»?
Anyway, they copied my key in a decent amount of time and the key is functional, so I’ve got no complaints. What I can’t figure out is why it cost me more than the person who wrote the review last month. Could be a spontaneous price change, but they don’t list the prices for key copying, so I don’t know if I was ripped off or not. Either way, I got my key, so I’m happy.

Solid neighborhood hardware store. Is it substantially better than the others? Not really. Do the floors and shelves gleam? They do not. In fact, some of the floor is covered with a sheet of plywood. This is a place to buy nails, not food. It’s conveniently located less than 2 blocks from the 4÷5÷6 trains, right on 3rd ave, and there’s never a line. The staff behind the counter are friendly and fully bilingual (English-​Spanish). Keys are cut before you have time to send a text, and they only charge $ 1.25 per key. Like other stores, but unlike Home Depot, they put the copies on a new key ring, which saves me time (and face, because it’s always a struggle). I’ll be back!
