one word: TERRIBLE! the things you do when you are hungry.(SMH) since i was starving i stopped by this place, i wanted give it a try and support the local people instead of the big chains like chipotle. boy was i wrong! to start the beans were watery, like straight out of the can, guac was brown, rice was tasteless. i had already placed my order before i noticed. i didnt wanna be a debbie downer so i went ahead and just finished my order. the whole plate was insipid. food was not fresh and everything off it was over $ 11! to top it off i ended up with a stomach ache. never again!!!

Excellent dinner! We had to wait a while to be seated, but the food was worth it. We tried 10 dishes(two five course meals) and nearly all were very good. About five of our dishes were accompanied by sauces; all different and all were excellent! The music playlist is also very good.

Had to speak up for this place because I don’t understand all the bad reviews. It’s kinda like Chipotle, except there are more meat choices and they’re more flavorful, line is faster, it’s cheaper overall, and perhaps most importantly they don’t charge extra for guac. I like the barbecue pork and spicy chicken burritos. You also get free chips with your meal. Grading it for what it is, which is a quick takeout place where you wouldn’t expect the world’s best Mexican food. It’s a regular lunch spot for me.

Disappointing. You can tell the ingredients are just cheap, which isn’t an excuse since Taco Bell manages to make things delicious while at the same time charging less. Had the $ 8 chicken quesadilla — my «go-to» because it’s hard to screw up a quesadilla. But, alas… The only flavor I really tasted was cilantro, which I don’t even like. Oh well. Won’t be back.

Stopped by around 5pm and had the fajita plate. I had originally intended to go to the Subway restaurant, but it was very crowded. So I decided to go to Sabor de Mexico because they were empty. Now, I know why. They were out of chicken so I had ground beef. I love Chipotle restaurants and always get a burrito bowl there. I thought it was pretty bad especially when compared to Chipotle. The ground beef had no taste. The fajita plate didn’t contain rice and beans. Both were extra. They gave me a teaspoon of pico de gallo. I had to ask for more and got another teaspoon full. It did come with guacamole. I also had a diet coke. It costs a little under $ 10.50. Next time I am in that area I am going to look for a Chipotle.

Just go to Chipotle. Pricing is bizarre. $ 1 extra for black beans per taco. Service is slow, in both the service and mental sense. Cost is as much as Chipotle. Skip this joint.

Rainy day out in NYC and passed this place couple of times but finally decided to go in today. Kind of in the mood for a burrito. So that is what I got. They charge a dollar extra for steak which didn’t look or taste that great. The system of ordering is similar to Chipotle. You have the option to select from 2 types of rice. My food seemed kind of cold which I didn’t like. Portions are big and it did come with complimentary chips and salsa and a free drink for saying«yay». It is a small place and not many seats. They do have bottler beer and desserts which seem a bit expensive. Overall I think I might go back there and maybe try something else and hopefully have a better experience. I’ve had better burritos though.

Good place for a nice quick cheap lunch. I ordered the Chipotle chicken enchiladas. The order comes with 3 enchiladas and comes with a side of rice and black beans. Only cost $ 7.95 + tax which is great for that neighborhood. I’d go again.

Felt like something quick. Walked past and thought why not. Not the best tacos in the world but nice non the less. My wife’s burrito was«okay»…but in saying that, it did the job and filled the gap. We ate at 6pm.

So unimpressed! The photos in the delivery menu are more appetizing than what I received. The ingredients taste fresh and i do enjoy the cilantro-lime rice but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. My fajita was very bland as if all the ingredients were simply sauteed without any spices whatsoever, including the pork! Unless you mask it with salsa, you’ll wonder where the flavor went. The cheese and sour cream were nonexistent, the guacamole was sparse, and the small cup of salsa is not enough for an entire serving. I couldn’t even get a soda because their machine was broken! You may shell out more at Chipolte, but after this I know it’s worth it, at least their food has flavor!

There’s not much of a variety here in terms of Mexican menu but I would recommend the fajitas with either grilled chicken or shrimp

Sabor is okay. Its along the lines of chipotle if your in the mood for Mexican food. Certainly nothing special but it does the job. I usually get enchiladas thats about $ 7.95. But they do have tacos, burritos, and burrito bowls. What I don’t like about this place is they charge extra for everything. Even extra for onions amongst many other things! Pretty ridiculous if you ask me the price ends up jacked up before you know it. Rice and beans are mediocre I rarely ever bother to finish them. If your tired of Chipotle Id suggest you try this.

I love this place and never had a problem with the staff or the quality of the food(maybe that’s because I used to work right next door and the staff knew me pretty well). Yes the prices can be a bit expensive but your in the city, isn’t everything overpriced out here? Yes there are better Mexican restaurants in the city but this one just seems close to everything and they offer free cornbread and fountain drink with certain meal selections. Con: Limited seating They charge extra for sauteed onions :(

This place is kind of like a poor man’s Chipotle to me. I got the Carnitas Burrito for lunch. There could have been more flavor in the pork as it was a bit bland but otherwise it is a serviceable lunch. I added rice and beans, tomatoes, guacamole got some chips and salsa as well.

I believe I am a person with discerning tastes when it comes to food. I understand what’s good. I understand what’s bad. I don’t think my standards have recently slipped. What I am NOT understanding are the bad reviews of this place. I came here for a pre-jury duty lunch one day; I just happened to walk past it on Park Place and said, «Ehhhh. This looks good.» I walked in, saw the menus for tacos, burrito bowls, enchiladas, et all. I ordered enchiladas with pollo asado. I watched the fresh corn tortillas get grilled fresh and made to order for me. I saw the mild green salsa take a whirl in the hot saucer over the stovetop and get poured fresh on top. I saw the delicious yellow rice and black beans poured into my platter. I saw fresh vegetables and cilantro sprinkled on top of my enchiladas. I sat at a nearby park and DEVOURED my meal, impressed with how fresh and delicious it was. As I finished up, I decided to «check in» on my Unilocal App, brought up Sabor De Mexico… ONLY a 1& ½ star average rating? REALLY? REALLY?! I was a bit dumbfounded! I did note how the majority of the reviews were from six months ago. Maybe something happened? Maybe they got their act together? Maybe I came on a really good day and it does suck the rest of the time? I don’t think I’m going with the latter of those scenarios. I legit enjoyed Sabor De Mexico, would stop in again, and, finally, would recommend it as a good lunch place in that neighborhood, indeed.

Like the tip I gave when I checked into this place: Blah… skip this place. I ordered the 3 hard shell taco meal and chose the grilled pork as my meat. The Taco shell was stale. Taco Bell has better tasting hard tacos. The grilled pork was filled with oil which dripped like a faucet every-time I took a bite. They charge you extra to add guac, corn/bean mi x or pineapple to your meal If I had to compare this place it would be 2 levels down from Qdoba standards. And Taco Bell would be a level up from Sabor De Mexico standards.

Being nicer than needed is sometimes the answer for City Hall joints. Man, is this hood boring… Working here is one thang but there ain’t enough poppin’ lunch spots around here, esp for the disgruntled office workers flockng around in circles looking for something to eat. Then this pops up. At first, I’m apprehensive and even upon eating it, I’m still apprehensive. It’s simple, chain line kinda operation with its tacos, burritos, tostadas, quesidillas and bowls. Good nuff to come back to. Can’t shout out a certain preference but I“ll alway say pay the extra buck for the bistec/steak. I like my food spicy so jalapenos and their hot salsa… yup. TATO. standard food expensive cost. Which makes this hood hauntingly desolate off office hours but it’s a hood mentality. I shouldn’t be paying $ 10 for tacos(inc jalapeño and etc at additional cost). This ain’t even a hyped up taco truck… I have only tried the tacos but will prob end up back here due to the close proximity of my job and the limitless choices one has for lunch around here. And it truly anin’t that bad. It’s rather good, just not convincing enough… However, If you’re a taco person, get your ass here instead. A quick walk away by the entrance of the BK Bridge. A nice hidden stand as their flagship restaurant is actually famous for their corn tortilla up in the Borough of Qns…

Over-priced and under-taste. I paid close to $ 7 for breakfast… that’s outrageous even in these parts. I ordered the chorizo egg platter which came with rice and beans and 3 tortillas but no salsa or sauce or veggies in the platter… at all. the photo on the menu showed this dish covered in salsa, tomatoes and guacamole. When I called them to complain, they said the photo is wrong and that this dish doesn’t come with all that. Well, thank you for the information Master-of-the-Obvious! If the photo is wrong, they should either, remove the photo or warn unsuspecting customers! The person on the phone asked me to call back when the boss was there. I did not bother as I do not plan on going back there. Very disappointing. Will not be back. NOBUENO!

Very average burrito. Too expensive. A little less than $ 10 for a carne asada burrito. Compare that to moes homewrecker special that includes a better burrito, chips, and soda for under $ 6 and sabor is a bad value. But bc there is no moes by my office i will presumably still order from here on occasion.
