DO NOT go here for facial acupuncture. The woman didn’t read my chart or even bother to ask me if I had facial acupuncture before. She guessed my age and was wrong. She didn’t check my pulse and just started stabbing me with needles without cleaning the area with alcohol first or removing my makeup. When she was done I had a huge bruise on my face which she didn’t even bother to address until I brought it up. Horrifying experience. I also asked if they carried my herbs while making the appointment and I was told yes. Then when I came on she said she would make it as a giant tea and I would need to pick up by car over the weekend. This is completely impossible since I live outside the city and have kids– which I why I called ahead.

Helpful staff. They carry bulletproof diet products. Will be back when I am in town again.

My first time getting a colonic. To be honest, I was scared shitless. Everyone had a different opinion about the experience. So to add to your fear — here is my experience. First of all, it is not as weird as you imagine. I would say it is as comfortable as getting a Brazilian wax for the first time. Some one is very close to your business and you are going to feel very uncomfortable the whole time but so glad you went through it. For me, nothing dirty or gross happened. My coworker said I would want to go home and take shower immediately and just sit on the toilet but I actually went out to dinner with friends right after. So I think the experience is different for everyone. But having said that, do not fear. It really is not as gross and weird as you think.

Have been going to Sanavita for a year or more right now. It’s a wonderful place to go. Today I had Jill, who was a WONDERFUL hydrotherapist. She was really warm, but professional, and showed real concern for me and the GI issues that had brought me in for my appointment. I would recommend Sanavita to all, and Jill as well!

i had colonic at this places many many times. the booking process is always easy and very accommodating, the price is standard nyc, the location is easy to find.

i had colonic at this place with multiple therapists
some are horrible and some are so nice.
honey and cathy are very good and i really enjoy my sessions with them.
others that i didn’t mention were not good. my session sometimes are very short. 30 mins max and i barely felt like i got it done.
so, i think it depend on who you book the session with.
try honey or cathy and you will not be dissappointed

Had a colonic with Vivian. She is very warm, sweet, and downright hilarious. She definitely makes you feel more comfortable throughout an uncomfortable process. I would absolutely request her again if I return, but I will admit that the service is a little pricey. I’ve been here a couple of other times over the past 5 years, and it seems like the rates have increased quite a bit. However, it may not be through any fault or doing of SanaVita; I’m sure inflation has had an impact on the business as it has on all of us. You can’t put a price on health, but unfortunately I can’t afford this service as often as I would like. But it is worth the price, and I do plan on returning when I can.

I absolutely love Sanavita and have been going there for several years now for hydrotherapy whenever I do a juice cleanse!

I was sold a used product for activated charcoal but paid for a new one. The owner said he would compensate me and call me but never heard from him. Hope someone can help as it feels really unhygenic to be sold a used product as a colonic place. I visited on Saturday Feb 21 and still waiting for a resolution… the colonic itself was amazing but the customer service on getting refund for being sold a used product not so much …

Bella is amazing!!! — My husband and I bought a living social deal for colonics. It was the first time for both of us and we were both really nervous. Since my appointment was at four I arrived first, The front desk receptionist was very nice and greeted me with a warm smile, you have to remove your shoes and fill out a form about your history. I was then greeted by my Hydro therapist named Beth «Bella». Like the receptionist she also greeted me with a smile. I am very happy that she took her time to explain everything to me and how the process went. I couldn’t believe how nice she was and answered all my questions and concerns. During the process she makes everything feel very comfortable and constantly asks you how you are feeling. After my session she also gave me tips on how to continue my diet and how to take care of my body. My husband and I will definitely be going back for some more colonics and we will definitely be trying out the foot detox! THANK YOU SANA VITA !!! THANK YOU BELLA!!! x

Great first experience and already booked my second appointment. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I was nervous going in but Honey did a great job making me feel relaxed and at ease, she was so nice and understanding the whole time, she gave me insights of the process and tips for my next appointment.
I am very specific about cleanliness and this place has 5 stars for sure. It is not the most modern office but it has just what you need in a clean and friendly environment. Conveniently in front there is a great health store where you can get a green smoothie after the process and probiotics.
The price is not the best as it is a little on the pricier side but for now I will stick with this place because I had a good experience.

Yea… so after spending 10 days in London eating insistently with no regard for fruits and vegetables, it was definitely time to get serious about this colonic that’s been on my to do list for 18+ months.
I was very nervous about selecting a location to do a colonic. For one, the price. I have periodically stalked the various deal sites but most places that offered deals had horrendous reviews and given the… nature… of the procedure, I was not going to take any chances. But after my trip from London, I decided to eat the full cost and pull the trigger. SanaVita had the best and most reliable reviews (we Unilocal veterans know how to spot the sketchy non-​filtered reviews), so I made an appointment.
In advance of my appointment, I received an email with advice on what to eat and not to eat in the few days prior to your colonic. They highly recommend a juice cleanse. I had one juice the day before, but didn’t go all in, just ate light.
The day of. Everything went very smoothly (no pun intended).
My technician (is that the proper word?) Honey was very nice and made me feel at ease. She was also very knowledgable, warm and easy to talk to. Given the … nature … of the procedure, I thought that was very important.
I’ll spare you the details, but there was a lot of old stuff that needed to get out that did get out. The filing portion was a little uncomfortable, and things get a little unnerving as your body gears up to release from your system. It was a very strange feeling, but not painful and not unbearable. The water pumping is accompanied with a relatively soothing abdominal massage and hot stones under your feet.
The service was $ 157, plus tip. When I paid for my service, there was no hard sell for me to consider packages or other services, which I liked, but I definitely would have bought something if prodded.
I felt way better afterward and things appear to be working order. I would highly recommend SanaVita for a colonic. I intend to return and try some of their other services.

I was so excited after reading all the reviews but I really wasn’t impressed. My last colon hydrotherapy experience was at a different place about 2 years ago. It was so much better. The machine was free flowing (open), not requiring me to have to determine when things would be going in or out. It felt more relaxing and natural. The woman was also much more engaging.
Sanavita is really nice inside with great aromas and a wonderful atmosphere but the actual process felt like I was giving myself an at-​home enema. I don’t know if it was the time of day that I went but it felt very impersonal. It was timed in such a short time frame that I hardly feel it was worth it. This is besides the discomfort I was feeling because I was filled with lots of air =(Maybe it is just me but I won’t go here again.

I had my first colonic ever at Sana Vita in 2008. For an unpleasant procedure, the hydrotherapists here make it as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I love the holistic approach about their practice. When you step into the center, you are definitely seemingly miles away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. The space is very clean and there is a feeling of centeredness, if I may. Additionally, there are calming, relaxing aromas surrounding every area.
All of the therapists that I’ve had were wonderful. They were gentle, thoroughly explained the procedure of flushing the colon, and helped me to relax. I have yet to try a consecutive series of colonics but this may be the most effective in ridding most, if not all of the waste buildup, resulting in a flatter tummy and overall feeling better.
On my most recent visit, I was curious as to what type of pound-​shed could happen after a session. I had the colonic done in the evening and weighed myself the following morning on an empty stomach. I actually dropped 4 lbs. But this doesn’t mean much, especially since weight fluctuates so often based on time of day, food intake, bowel movement, hormonal changes, etc.
Other than the super pricey cost which is in line with their location and facility amenities, the only thing I will say about this place that I don’t love is the fact that all of my favorite therapists end up leaving the practice. Such is life.

I purchased a Lifebooker for a colon hydrotherapy and had a wonderful experience. Katie was super calming and the space was very relaxing. It was my first time getting this type of procedure and Katie made me feel very comfortable. The warm bed, scented oils and zen music added to the great experience! I would definitely recommend this place!

went here yesterday and had a great experience with Katie, i did the colon cleansing, the experience itself is kind of embarrassing (hello, a total stranger is all up in your business), but Katie made me feel at ease, we kept an open dialogue the entire time,
the spa is beautiful and clean, and everyone was super nice. a little pricy ($ 157) but I got the deal from living social and paid $ 77. so not so bad, well worth it, I feel great (and light).
I highly recommend and would definitely go here again, thanks sanavita.

Arul the owner is an angel! She has a beautiful, gentle spirit and it shows with her staff and the energy at Sanavita. It’s the best place for colonics and if I could would give it 100 stars!

BEST colonic (s) EVER. Scared and scarred by my first colonic in Brooklyn over a year ago, I was quite wary of coming in to make my– errrr backside vulnerable yet again. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the home-​like environment from the moment you walk in and take off your shoes with the pleasant smell of soy candles burning.
After filling out a detailed description of my lifestyle (hobbies, activities, food consumed, bowel movements, etc), I was greeted by my therapist, Anna. She was quite cheery for so late in the day and I was probably a bit grumpy from juice fasting. I noticed how lovely her complexion was and how interested she was in my health and why I was here. She wasn’t trying to push me to buy another colonic or pressure me to go out of my comfort zones but only made gentle recommendations, which I truly appreciated and respected her guidance through my experience.
Months later, I did end up buying a package of three and just had my second colonic at SanaVita (with Anna)! It was quite different from the first, but that’s because my body was at a different point, coming home from 20 days in Europe eating what ever when ever. The toxins that came out and the way my body reacted was absolutely incredulous.
At SanaVIta, they truly respect the body and appreciate it. Much like a yoga class, they honor where your body is in the moment. For everyone that wishes the price could be cheaper, I understand your wishes, but I believe that for the service, the treatment and for the organic and natural products they use, it is well worth it.
