History

Scott J. /​Aveda, Broadway is a high-​end Aveda concept salon offering skin and hair services near Columbia University.

Business Owner

Scott’s road to success began in 1980, while working under the tutelage of Michael Mazzei, owner of Nubest & Co. Salon in Manhasset, NY. After 10 years, Scott moved to New York City where within a year the vision of owning his own salon began. His first venture was an intimate 400 square foot, five-​chair salon on Columbus Avenue.

By his first anniversary, Scott had outgrown the original space and moved into a 750 square foot salon. Eight years and thousands of guests later, Scott’s ultimate dream to expand into a true urban oasis became a reality, with the opening of his salon and spa at the corner of Columbus and 72^nd.

Growth has steadily continued, with the addition of Scott’s Broadway, Upper East Side, and Brooklyn Heights locations, making it easier for Scott J. to satisfy the needs of an ever-​growing client base.
