History

Established in 1997.

Dr. Kissel graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Microbiology and Chemistry in 1985. In 1989, he received his dental degree from the Henry M. Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry in Boston. This was followed by a one year general practice residency at University Hospital Stony Brook.

From 1990 to 1994 he was in private practice as a general dentist in Mt. Sinai, NY. In 1997 he completed a three year Postdoctoral specialty training program in Periodontics at Tufts University in Boston. After graduating, he returned to New York to begin his Periodontics and Dental Implants practice.

Dr. Kissel is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics. A Diplomat is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.

In 2001 he founded The Manhattan Study Group, where restorative dentists improve NYCs level of dental care. He lectures nationwide & has published articles on dental implants, reconstructive periodontics. A native NY’er he & his wife have 2 sons.
