Seven Bar & Grill

My husband and I had dinner here last night before the Billy Joel concert. We weren’t expecting the meal of a lifetime as the concert was the main focus. We just wanted a nice meal near MSG. Well, were we surprised. The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive, so very nice and helpful! Everything we ordered was fantastic and came quickly (but you never felt rushed). The tuna poke, the tagliatelle with goat cheese and the Korean skirt steak were all incredible. To top it off they played Billy Joel the entire time we were there. Thank you Seven Bistro for helping to make our night memorable.

Excellent lounge to grab a cocktail when you miss the train at Penn. Cushy lounge seating by the front picture windows provides a fun view of bustling 7^th Ave. Good service. Recommend the scallops when in season.

I love this place. I am usually hard on restaurants and a five star rating from me is a big deal! This place is great for a pre-​Madison Square Garden event. I had the swordfish and the lobster salad, my date had the Korean marinated skirt steak and the seven salad. Every morsel was great! The cocktails were great! The service was great! I can’t say a single bad thing about this place. Bravo!

Great place! Menu is somewhat limited but the atmosphere was great and it really picked up during lunch hour. If you need a light meal and have the time you should stop by!

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was I late because of tunnel traffic!, but they held my table and got us out of there in time for concert!
In my book customer service is number one and that alone gave them 5 stars! Not only that the waiter was excellent, so was the food. We both had fish, excellent. I also had the the tuna app and it was a tad salty but that’s just me but really delicious and tasty!
So if you want a place that’s not jammed to the gills with «kids» and you want to act like a human being and be treated like one, this is a hidden gem!
I passed many other places that were just so packed and way too bar like. I’m so glad I really got lucky on Unilocal and choose this restaurant!

Stopped here for dinner last night with my son before a Knicks game at the Garden. Wish the Knicks played as well as my dinner tasted!
We were walking down 7^th avenue and looking for a restaurant and I saw Seven Bistro and it looked inviting. A quick check on Unilocal showed 3.5 stars. Good enough to get us through the door.
We were seated upstairs but in the corner the room was quite empty other than one family of about 8 people. I was little bothered by the table placement but figured they may have a lot of reservations. It did fill up by the time we left. I think we sat down around 5 p.m.
For my dinner I started with the Seven Salad which was fantastic. The vinaigrette was delicious and I was pretty sure we were in for a good meal.
Our waiter was great and stopped by often enough and took good care of us.
For my entre I had the Korean Skirt Steak which was just out of the park good. I only wish the portion was bigger but that’s only because it was so good. The sticky rice and the sauce it came in were just amazing. I felt like I was eating at a Chopped Championship competition. That’s how good everything was here.
For desert I had the Rice Pudding with Toasted Coconut. Again — out of the park fantastic. I got this because it was listed under the «small» deserts. It was small. I don’t know exactly what they put in it but it is just amazing. Highly recommend it.
My son had the Black Angus steak which he said was great. The only thing that could stand for some improvement were the fries which were large cut fries that I think were baked and they were a little on the dry side and just not as good as everything else we ate. I had a few and they were o.k. We finished them.
For a random pick before a Knicks game I could not have been more pleased. I only wish it were a little closer to home. Next time we are in NYC I plan on coming back.

Stopped in after work for a drink and a bite. Comfy cozy environment, friendly service and some of the best ravioli I’ve ever had (butternut squash pasta app)… Delicate flavors and perfectly al dente. A bigger portion than I expected for an app. They played The Who the whole time I was there. A nice nod to Them ‘who’ are playing the Garden tonight.

I visited Seven Bistro when I was in town this past summer. The atmosphere and food was everything! I had the Garlicky Shrimp Arancini with out the watercress because I’m not a fan. I’m late writing this review but I was just thinking of how great this meal would be right now!

Had an amazing pre-​game dinner on Saturday night. Our server, Adam, made sure we had everything we needed and more! I asked for a particular sauce they normally do not serve, but kitchen made it specially for me and it made my evening. Our stakes were cooked to perfection and If you are still thinking where to eat before your Madison Square Garden experience, stop thinking and come here– you won’t be disappointed! Thank you everyone for making our evening unforgettable. We will be back for more!

Only a few blocks from the Rachel Ray /​Wendy Williams studio, a great place to stop for lunch. Try their steak with balsamic glazed onion sandwich — DELICIOUS!!!

Managed to get a table up stairs where it was quieter, but not as social as downstairs. Food choice was ok and our meals were great: trout and shrimp.
Our waiter was ok, not overly polite but not rude. Would go their again.

Sat at bar with friends for happy hour on a Tuesday. The two male bartenders on were delightful, quite funny actually. I owe a good portion of my fun to them, very entertaining guys. The crowd was a nice mix of after work guys and groups of women grabbing dinner. The design of this bar is beautiful, the layout is a bit narrow but they manage to make the place look a lot bigger with the high ceilings and the chandeliers, and the vintage library style ladder and second level just for their stock of wines and other bottles of alcohol behind the bar. It looks really cool, check out the pics a lot of people posted from the same view I had. We shared apps, I personally had the dumplings SO GOOD! Good variety on the menu, next time I’ll bring more of an appetite

Had a bite to eat here before a basketball game at the Garden. It was so-​so, nothing spectacular. The bar is nice, has a good amount of space to accommodate people, food was ok, but a bit pricey. Good place to grab a drink before a game though.

This place is ok. We sat upstairs and it was crazy loud, really difficult to have a conversation. Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered–
Tagliatelle pasta– delicious, asparagus is really fresh in this dish
Steak sandwich– tender and sweet, we really enjoyed this dish too
Burger– pretty good except the burger is absurdly tiny in comparison to the bun. The French fries however were cold, stale, and overly salty.
Overall, tasty food (though not worthy of the high prices), friendly service, loud atmosphere. Wouldn’t come again but not disappointed either!

The food was great and the staff was super friendly. I really enjoyed there lobster Mac and cheese. I will be going back.

Snobbish. If you aren’t beautiful, young and a supermodel, you get seated in the back. Yes, its true.
The coffee was good but the Mahi Mahi taco was cobbled together without any forethought on how to make food tasty. The food was not warm and the taco itself had never been warmed. The salad was supposed to have a dressing on it yet I could not taste it. I asked for a little more.

I did not have high expectations for this place. I know that it’s far nicer than the average lunch spot around MSG, but my experience with food around the area has been meh/​above average. I came here two months ago at the suggestion of a friend who also works in midtown. He hadn’t been here before either, but we figured for a fancier lunch, why not? As you can see by the rating, I was pleasantly surprised.
We got a few things to split, but only one stood out: the Yellow Fin Tuna Poke (prepared w/​red onion, chopped macadamias, spicy sesame aioli, marinated sea weed, wonton crisps). A must-​order. Beautifully prepared, and the delicious variety of flavors/​textures made it well worth the $ 15. The only disappointment, and I probably say this often on Unilocal,is that I wanted twice as much as I ended up eating. Sharing is caring though… I guess…
The ambiance here is great. Upscale but not snooty in any way. Very spacious and warm, prompt and personable service, all that good stuff. We came here at 2pm-​ish on a weekday, and we were pretty much the only people there. I gather this spot is more popular as a post-​game/​post-​concert spot. And just because it stood out to me — the alcohol selection is impressive here, at least for this area. If it was happy hour as opposed to midday, I’m sure I would have tested their bartending skills.

The staff here is very attentive and the service is quick. I was with a group and we ordered a bunch of small plates and entrees for dinner. The presentation was very well done but the portions were on the small side and we were not too happy with the spinach and artichoke dip.
Overall, I’d probably be back if I was in the area and wanted to grab dinner in a place that wasn’t primarily a midtown bar.

This is hardly the part of town that comes to mind when I want to have a cocktail. In fact, whenever I go to any of the neighboring pubs on 7^th ave, I just drink wine because I question the authenticity of the liquor. Not kidding.
However, I finally tried Seven and I am in love with this place. It’s chic, the bar has partitions for semi/​privateness, the staff is friendly and their smiles are real. The cocktails are divine, and affordably priced because the spirits are real.
I’ve tried the house made chicken potstickers, and liked them alot.
I’m in the area alot and looking forward to returning.

What’s the saying? «You get what you pay for» Seven Bar & Grill certainly falls within the pot! I recently when for lunch with my boss at Seven. I was immediately greeted by a very cool hostess (literally she had blue hair… I liked her)! I was early, so I appreciate Seven offers a seating area (with actually seats and duel sofas) so you can COMFORTABLY wait for your party. Instead of awkwardly standing around lol. The sound of sweet jazz is playing so sweet on your eardrums in the background (you like that huh?). Once seated. I order a lamb burger with feta fries and mac and cheese croquettes. Honestly the mac & cheese croquettes were the STAR of my meal. MMMM. Definitely pay this place a visit!!!

In der Nähe des Madison Square Garden befindet sich dieses Restaurant. Auf der 7^th Ave zwischen W29 und W30. Unser Hotel lag auf der W31 in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wir waren im Dezember dort, da war es schon weihnachtlich geschmückt. Das Ambiente sucht seines gleichen es ist wahnsinnig schön von innen! Die Bedienung war sehr nett wie fast alle in USA. Ich hatte einen sehr guten Steak, meine Freundin einen «Hähnchen» Steak. Wir waren absolut begeistert vom Essen, nichts zu beanstanden. Das Bier ist aber sehr teuer im Vergleich zu Deutschland, dass ist aber normal in Amerika genau so wie Tabak auch viel teurer als in Deutschland ist. Die Besucher waren alle sehr ordentlich! Wie schon gesagt waren wir sehr beeindruckt und können das Restaurant voll weiter empfehlen.
