Love love love! But beware! It will turn into an addition! The half licorice/​raspberry sour coins are my all time favorite, but you are best tasting one of each to find what you like best. I always end up spending $ 20… Thank goodness there’s only one Nyc location.

As part of my Danish roots I havr an insatiable craving for salty liquorice, so when I came across this candy store I was in near heaven — and my blood pressure was highly elevated rhe next couple of days while I munched my way through way too much liquorice. According to my son the other candy was a notch over It’s Sugar. Lucky for me this place is within a Sunday stroll but not right next door. But now I have one more reason to visit this neighborhood.

I stumbled into this place by random. The gummies are sooo delicious and you can buy just one to protect your waistline. Huge variety of flavors. I will be coming back!

Very cute candy store to visit after a day of brunch & bar hopping. They don’t have the biggest selection based on a few other candy stores I’ve been to but location wise it’s perfect. Tons of gummies, chewies & yummies for any tummy. The prices are actually good as well so go ham.
Definitely worth the visit anytime I’m in the area which is a lot lol.

Loved this place! I like to try new things, especially sweets from other countries, and this store did not disappoint. I’m more of a chocolate fan, but I did enjoy their gummies too.
I bought a box full of samples to try, and overall I really enjoyed everything I got. A lot of the chocolate has marshmallows in it, which was a bit chewy but still tasted pretty good. Their version of Jordan almonds were my favorite. I also enjoyed their geisha wrapped chocolate.
Unless you’re a hardcore fan of real licorice (not the generic store brand you can find anywhere) I’d stay clear of their licorice. I got some of the hard candy and it was the grossest thing I’ve ever tasted. Really salty and just nothing I’ve ever tasted before.
This is definitely a place you stop by once in a while, as the candy costs $ 12.99 per pound. My only beef with the store is that you have to pay $ 2 for a box, which is something I feel like they should offer for free, or maybe even cheaper. It does make a nice gift though, and they wrap it up very nicely.

Been here the past two weekends to satisfy my sour gummy cravings. I am new to Swedish sweets so the first time I visited Sockerbit, I purchased a variety of the gummy and hard candies. The sour lips and sweet and sour licorice were amazing. There was only one hard candy that I disliked. The truffles and chocolates look appetizing so I’ll probably try them next week. Sockerbit also has adorable house and gift wares and pickeled Swedish goodies. I appreciate the free samples at the cash register.

I love the idea of this store more than what it actually offers. Sorry, but I hate licorice. It always tastes like rubber tires… on acid. I thought a quirky flavor like the cactus Lakerol might be cool enough to mask the rubber-​ness – but no dice. Their non-​licorice offerings are pretty much standard candies that you can find in any other shop. Props for the minimalist design and friendly staff, though.

You can’t walk away with too many sweets, because they’re $ 12.99 a pound, but you can walk away with a reasonable sampling of things to try. Their sour candies are excellent, the marshmallowy mushrooms have a wonderful texture, and best of all, nothing is too sweet! I take issue with American candy because many things are overloaded with sugar, but the sampling I had from Sockerbit was delightfully complex, and not just a succession of different sweet candies. I especially liked the hard candies near the door.
I love this place, and I’ll be back whenever I’m in the neighborhood!

If salted licorices sound enticing to you, this Skandinavian sweets store has them in spades. They also offer traditional Swedish marshmallows and gummy boats and eggs. Friendly, helpful staff will assist you without hovering. This Nordic candy boutique stands out amongst more conventional confectionaries.

My girlfriend is Swedish and this is a convenient place to get her some candy and kaviar when I can!

The best. As a Swede, I can attest to the quality of the candy here. Love the sockerbit marshmallows, the red fruit chews, and coca-​cola flavored gummies. The chewy candies are the best, in my opinion. Also love Kex which is like a kit kat, as well as the hot pink marzipan chocolates by the register. They also carry the tubed caviar and hard bread — what a treat! The only down side is that this place is overpriced. But I’ll still come here! Enjoy

I think I went in with too high expectations. I tried small samples of a lot of different candies and overall I didn’t think they were worth the hype. Also, the woman at the counter was hardly enthusiastic even as I tried to engage her in some friendly conversation.
The liquorice was interesting, I usually like liquorice but didn’t like the very salty kind. Personal preference most likely.
The marshmallows and the sweet gummy candies were dissapointing. They seemed stale and didn’t have a lot of flavor.
I will say that all of the sour gummed and chocolates I tried were great! But just overall I was let down and probably won’t be coming back.

Sockerbit makes candy seem clean… almost sterile by offering the sugary tidbits in streamlined plastic spaces so neat you container store fanatics will rejoice. They offer lots of licorice type bits which are more of a European taste but still have everything that boasts good candy store fun. The sweet and sour gummies. Chocolates which aren’t as good. And even mixed nuts.
There’s an assortment of packaged items that I generally ignore when I’m perusing the candy bins.

Went with my bestie to explore the west village area one weekend and landed on this great find… I haven’t had genuine euro candy since my Europe trip ten yrs ago. So I was happy to find this place. Its a unique boutique type store that sells Swedish candy, small sampling of groceries and some very cute home goods such as plates, cups, spoons, dishes, and even some unique toys, bookbags, and wooden displays. The mice dolls in a box were super cute but very pricy at $ 24. Might be a nice gift for someone into cutesy things. Hint hint… lol. I did get a cup with silicone lid sold separately. The plastic cup comes in different colors and designs and looks like very sturdy material.
The candy was delicious. Not too sweet and just right. As they advertise that it does not contain any high fructose corn syrup. I would recommend a visit here if you are ever in the area or just have a sweet tooth. Worth checking out.

I had so much fun here! I was definitely a [big] kid in a candy store. Service is very friendly and I like the white crisp feel of everything. I enjoyed trying all the different types of candy– they have a lot to offer. It is pricey at $ 12.99 a pound but I guess that’s to be expected.

If you’re into Scandinavian candy that’s chewy and salty and marzipany and licoricey, you’ll like Sockerbit. They stock the standard candies found in the grocery bins in Scandinavia that all the kiddies go ape for, and also some for the adults. Get the boozy chocolates and you’ll never be sad. Promise.
Also an assortment of mustards and cheeses (try the Västerbotten and the Präst!) and other cooking and baking ingredients from Scandinavia (some of which can also be found at IKEA), and cute little seasonal decorations and things. A flink little place for a søte lite godteri treat.

One of us was looking for a salmiakki & it is something that’s pretty hard to find here in NYC. We found this place through Unilocal.After looking at their website & reading all of the reviews here, we decided to check this place out.
The place is clean, bright, & full of Scandinavian candies that you’ve probably never heard of. It’s also somewhat pricey. The staff were very polite. They also have a small selection of Scandinavian food & drinks.
If you’re looking some hard to find Scandinavian candies, this place is definitely worth visiting. We like this place. We’ll definitely go back

Since I dropped by and bought fun Halloween candies in a bag, I hooked onto some sour gummes. They are in a red color and very sour one has a shape of wrench and other has a paddle. My chocolate lover, my hubby, likes round chocolate balls, a punch of milk chocolate.
I usually come for that gummies but I noticed for the fist time that there were some my favorites in a can and jar that was stored in the glass fridge case near the door. I bought herrings in a jar, anchovies in a can, and salmon cream in a blue tube. They were delicious, if you like sweet sour herring with dill flavor, or not salty but clean-​sweet sour anchovies, and (very) salty salmon roe cream. The price is definitely higher than IKEA food store. What they have were very similar except IKEA logo.

I didn’t know what to do with the salmon cream so I asked the blond cheerful staff what to do with it. She said simply spreading on a toast and enjoy. At home, I quartered a slice of bread and toasted them. Then thinly spread the cream and placed sliced red onions and topped with herrings with capers and fresh lemon juice with its peels. That was delicious! Then, I wanted to make this herrings to be more my liking, Japanese. I made sushi with it. I rinsed the herrings and soaked in a soy-​lime mixture for while. Then pat them dry and make sushi with it. It was different but satisfying. Herring is a shinny skin fish, like Mackerel, and worked well as sushi for me, even in a jar. I mixed the salmon cream with hot rice and topped with salon roe (Ikura) and shaved nori. The cream is salty enough no soy needed but a drop of less salt soy enhance the flavors to be more Japanese.
