Star Paws

We moved to the area in particular because of SP. Cannot say enough positive things about the value of SP to our pup, us, and to the UWS community. It’s a center of real expertise– they really know what they’re doing! The daycare is great for our little four-​legged boy and he comes out wagging his tail. In comparison to another doggy day care center I passed by, where all the dogs were in one open room with no privacy or opportunity to be alone, SP is far better. Everyone at SP is a pleasure chat and work with. Thank you for all that you do, Tammy!

I’ve been taking my french bulldog, Theo, to Star Paws for a couple of weeks. We don’t even live in the UWS but the inconvenience is totally worth it. After failing to find a daycare service closer to home that didn’t have catastrophically mixed reviews (i.e., five glowing ones and then a «they almost killed my dog!» story) we decided to take a chance on this one. And we are so glad we did! Tammy and her staff are WONDERFUL and are always cheerful and accommodating. What has impressed us the most is the emphasis Star Paws puts on dog health. It feels great to drop off our little guy and know he’s spending the day in a healthy environment. Keep up the good work, Star Paws!

This is an amazing service. Tammy is an expert on Dogs and she is so kind and the dogs love her. We had EJ sit for our Doxy 2 times this past week and he did an excellent job. He came to our home early and our Tyson was very content. We highly recommend Tammy and her team along with EJ to anyone who needs a sitter.

I bring my 5-​pound Yorkie here once a week when I have to work in the office and my dog enjoys being there. He is a shy dog and hope he opens up to more dogs, but they take good care of him and pay him a lot of attention. Their prices are very affordable compared to other daycares around the area. I pay only $ 23 per day with a 20-​day package. It’s a great deal vs. $ 55 per day at other places… and its also a smaller more home-​ly setting for your dog.

I literally cannot say enough good things about Tammy and her wonderful business. Upon adopting a puppy for the first time, my mind raced with fears and questions. I grew up with dogs but have never embarked on the puppy quest. Tammy is the real deal! She helps me on a daily basis with giving my new puppy the life he so deserves. She does not try to upsell you on anything– she is beyond reasonable with pricing especially for what you get in return. She also has great package deals that are really financially helpful. She spends constant time with all of the dogs, working on training and of course play time. It’s hard to convince Teddy to come home after such a blissful day! They get to be outside in a very large, safe and clean area with other approved dogs (healthy, friendly, etc.) Tammy is meticulous with her observation and care of the dogs, she treats all of them as if they were her own and to say my puppy adores her is an understatement. Tammy is a fountain of information, from recommending helpful books on raising dogs successfully to how to set up play pens in your own home. She is gentle and firm about teaching Teddy and most importantly teaching me how to be a better influence and loving mum/“owner” for him. I am beyond lucky to have found her and consider her to be a wonderful new friend who loves my little guy as much as I do.

I have been bringing my senior, blind dog Cloudy to Star Paws almost every weekday for daycare for the past 6 weeks. Tammy and Eniko, who assists her with day care activities and does the grooming, are both very sweet, dedicated women, who clearly love the small dogs who come for services. Cloudy has been taking his time adjusting to the new environment at Star Paws. He used to go to a larger, corporate daycare, but this was no longer a viable option once that business moved to the second floor of a building without an elevator. Tammy and Eniko have been very patient and understanding of Cloudy’s transition. They have gotten to know him and his needs well. This is possible, as this is a very homey setting (it’s set up to be like a real residential apartment), and there are a reasonable number of small dogs, given the space. Star Paws is clean and comfortable. The hours and the fees are very reasonable. The oatmeal soaks are so nurturing. There is outdoor space as well as indoor space, and there are only a few steps – most important, as I have to carry my boy up and down them.
This is a small, non-​corporate doggy day care. Tammy and her staff ensure that you and your companion pup are well taken care of.

My veterinarian recommended Star Paws when my dog needed post-​surgical care while I was traveling. Tammy took very good care of my dog and we’ve used Star Paws since then for daycare. In a pinch they also pickup/​drop-​off. My dog starts wagging his tail and seems very happy to see Tammy, definitely a positive since he’s not a particularly friendly fellow!

I really can’t give Star Paws enough praise. I was going out of town and was desperate to find a good place to board my new puppy. I came across Star Paws and met Tammy. She is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and Star Paws is a perfect environment. I started training lessons with Tammy who turned my mischievous misbehaved pup into a total angel. Tammy and Eniko treat my dog like their own and my dog LOVES it there. Eniko did a beautiful job grooming her. I now bring my dog to daycare every week (she seems depressed if she’s away from Star Paws for too long).
Tammy is an excellent trainer. I have now boarder my dog twice with them and I always pick her up much better behaved than when I left her. This is an amazing place that really knows dogs and I recommend them to everyone I meet!
