The best moving company i have worked with for the 12 years that i’ve been in this business.

After checking Unilocal for a moving Company, after getting in touch with a lot and I mean a lot, of the multi 5 stars moving Companies you may find in in Unilocal,all with excellent reviews, I learned one thing, none of them offered liability insurance regarding the requirements of the apartment building we were moving in. After checking the internet, I found an article at The New York Times on tips when moving in New York, by James Benatti, Manager of Steinway Moving and Storage. I checked for Steinway in Unilocal and I didn’t see nothing special, just 2 reviews, one good, one bad. Anyway I felt that an 80 years old company had to be good. They quoted me a fair price, they gave me a time to pick the stuff, and they contacted the coop regarding the insurance. I can say that this is the best experience in moving that I have ever had. This is a real 5 STAR Company, with the best moving team I had ever known.

They were perfectly nice, but very, very, very slow, in addition to showing up 45 minutes late. It’s my fault for finding a mover so late and getting stuck with a place that has no Unilocal reviews since everywhere else was booked. I suspect they don’t get very much business and therefore try to charge as many hours as humanly possible to the few customers they do get. My stuff showed up intact and they were attentive to the pieces of furniture that I said were fragile, but wow. That move really could have been done in fewer hours and been much less expensive. I’ve learned my lesson about booking a move too close to the move-​in date.
