Step Up Skin Laser

This is my second time purchasing a groupon deal for laser. I went to another place the first time and the result was excellent after just 6 treatments.
Step up skin has some really amazing laser technicians and others are okay. I had my first treatment with Luisina and she was amazing. She was really thorough with the whole procedure and was exceptionally sweet. I did my underarms and legs. After my first treatment, I did not even had to shave my legs! She put in so much effort when doing the treatment.
The next time I had another technician, I was late on that day because of train problems. When I reached there, I was quickly led to the treatment room. Since I was late I was to do just the underarm. I was out from that room in less than a minute. She did not even wipe the gel off properly. The next time for my lower legs it was the same thing again, she did not wipe the gel of properly and asked me to wipe it myself which is fine cause wiping the gel off is a no big deal but while I was wiping, my shoes accidentally touched the bed and she was so pissed about it saying ‘oh look your shoes are dirty don’t put it on the bed and next time take your shoes off’. She should have told me earlier to take my shoes off and I was not even intentionally putting my shoes on the bed. Since it’s the lower leg and the gel was all over, I had to sit down and wipe it off and all the paper was stuck on my lower leg cause of the gel and at one part my shoe accidentally touched the bed. Such pettiness.
Other than that, everything is great here. It’s easy to make appointments. Receptionists are all really nice. Place is very clean too. The procedure is painless in comparison to another place that I did.

I don’t typically write reviews however I think Step up Skin truly deserves one. I purchased a Groupon for a year worth of laser on one large and one small area.
First and foremost– it is very simple and easy to set up appointments. The facility is very clean, and has a very chic décor. The wait time between checking in at the front desk and seeing a technician is very minimal– I’ve never waited long at all. The laser is surprisingly painless (and if youre fortunate enough to get Vicki, she is amazing!) This is my first time doing a Brazilian laser and Vicki walks you right through the process making sure you feel comfortable in order to maximize and receive the best results!
I’ve only been 3x’s and already see amazing results– in some areas, there is almost no hair growth and in the areas that do grow back the hair is very thin. again. this is only my 3^rd session!
I’m excited and looking forward to seeing the final results :)

This place is an absolute scam. Bought the Groupon for one small and one large area. First appointment was no problem. Things quickly went downhill for my second appointment. When she went to do my Brazilian she said that she wasn’t doing the hairs around my bikini line. just the top portion. I had no problem the first time as the girl lasered everything down there but this girl refused saying that they «had a meeting» and now that area was considered «upper thigh» and I would have to pay more.
IN WHAT WORLD IS THE BIKINI AREA CONSIDERED «UPPER THIGH?!» It is completely different hair (public hair) than leg hairs and clearly a part of any Brazilian procedure. They advertise a «full Brazilian» as a large area but refuse to do it. Horrible business practice. save your time and money people.

Everyone at Skin Lazer Spa is very nice, patient, and knowledgable. The spa is spacious and clean with good music in the waiting area. They have a great Groupon option which is how I found them. They staff is very accommodating with scheduling, as once I was sick and wasn’t able to make it and they rescheduled for me no problem.

I received a year treatment for my birthday and have had appointments at Step Up every six weeks. Over the year they moved locations and did not inform their current customers. Luckily the old location was fairly close to where the salon is currently located, however it was stressful rushing to my appointment after work only to find the sign on the door they had moved.
The new location is lovely! Very Clean, open, and the washrooms are much nicer than the old location. The staff is knowledgeable regarding treatments, friendly, and made me feel comfortable. Some rooms have updated technology which allows the treatment to be shorter which is awesome! The front desk was a positive experience over all however, trying to book one of my first appointments in the new location had been a nightmare. The front desk was not informed on the new building policies and believed their last appointment was 6:30. Due to my work schedule, I am only able to make 6:45. The women was unhelpful and made me book for 6:30. After I left, the front desk called called to apologize and book me for the 6:45 slot.
Over the year there were a few hiccups but over all I would recommend the salon and treatments!

Can I just say how great this place is?!? Nice staff, able to get me in in a timely manner (even if I’m 10min late). I’ve only been gong for two sessions but have loved the experience. The first session was using the cool laser with the gel, absolutely no pain. The next session was with the warm laser with suction and felt little (tiny) pinches. And the session takes less than 15min each time! I’m just getting the Bikini line but after my experience looking to do more! I was worried about scaring and skin issues (because of my mixed heritage) there haven’t been any side effects! Two thumbs way up.

Good — Clean facilities, Alma soprano laser (one of the least painful). Nice front desk staff and technicians, that are always ready to answer. The laser is (shockingly) painless but very effective, and I’ve noticed results since my first treatment.
Bad/​Not so good — Charge an extra $ 10 for groupon deals, which is not that bad. There is a 6 week wait between appointments, no wonder they are giving away unlimited laser deals (you only get 4 – 5 treatments a year?). What I didn’t like was that — they don’t do forehead area, incase you are doing your face (which means the rest of my face would look incomparable to my forehead).

While my initial ordeal with booking an appointment was a nightmare (hence the original review), my experience since has more than made up for it.
The past few treatments I’ve received have been great. The laser is (shockingly) painless but very effective, and I’ve noticed results since my first treatment. I’ve gotten a different practitioner each time, and each time they’ve been patient, knowledgable and thorough. The facilities themselves are extremely clean and nicely decorated. Even better, I’ve hardly spent any time in that pretty waiting room since they have been so quick with getting me into my scheduled appointment. Even once when I showed up 15 minutes late, they were able to take me right away. And since I’ve been coming, I just schedule my next appointment with reception so I don’t have to go through the ordeal of calling again. So far, this has been working out very well.
Overall, I would give them 5 stars for their level of professionalism and service once an appointment has been made, but I have to deduct one star since getting in the door for that first appointment was such a fiasco.

I have been coming to Step Up Skin Spa since July 2015. My facial hair has always been a problem. I have been embarrassed about the hair on my face and Step Up Skin Spa has been a god send.
The laser treatment has been successful in that I have gone outside without makeup (I have not done so in over five years).
The staff is professional and accommodating.
The facilities are clean and the location is easy to get to.

Super clean, super posh décor, every technician I’ve met with so far is super friendly, personable and really takes their time to hit whatever areas you’ve requested. I bought a years worth from groupon for a small and large area along with upper legs separately.
They ONLY issue I would have here is the difficulty in scheduling or changing a schedule, which involves several calls, some of which no one answers or returns a call if a voicemail is left. Very frustrating. Other than that, I love this place and Angelica (I believe her name is, idk im bad with names but I do know it starts with an A), shes great.

I rarely write Unilocal reviews but these lovely ladies at Step Up skin care have been so professional and yet gracious & I have to write this positive review. Their service is real and so sweet and positive. nothing but the best. I completed my 9 sessions today and will renew and come back for sure. From sending me text reminders or calling me, to being amazingly understanding and gracious service staff. Even when I have my period cycles they are able to help me and shift my appointment when I can’t make it.
I did their full Brazillian and underarm laser treatment (9sessions)

I bought a Groupon for six sessions at Step Up Skin Lazer, and so far I’ve used two sessions and been very happy with the results. The location is clean and well organized, and I felt very comfortable. I saw Daniela, who I found out is actually the manager, and she did a great job. It really didn’t hurt, which surprised me, especially after years of dealing with painful waxes! Even though she said it would take a few sessions to see permanent results, the hair is barely growing back at all after just two sessions, and so I don’t feel the need to wax at all.
I highly recommend Step Up!

If you are trying to pick a place for laser hair removal, look no further! This place is amazing! Firstly the service: wonderful. From the receptionists to the technicians, everyone was so helpful, sweet and accommodating. The place is very clean and chic, not what I was expecting when I purchased a groupon to be honest. The laser they use is virtually painless. I didn’t feel anything, just a bit of heat. I have done laser hair removal else where and it is pretty painful. So if you’re a first timer, this place is a great choice.

I found this place on Living Social $ 199 for 1 year treatment of a large area and I been coming since January, I been there already three times but waited to do my review. Let me start with its super easy to set up appointments and reschedule.
The place its really pretty and most important clean. I really like the waiting area but I’m never there longer than 3 mins and I’m always called in.
I got the Brazilian laser and I have to say I’m super happy with the results so far. My hair growth has decrease by about 50% and the hair that grows back its very thin.
Every time I been here I had different technicians and all three have been pleasant enough but to be honest I don’t remember their names.
Apart from my amazing results I love the fact that it doesn’t hurt too much I would say probably a 3 – 4 out of 10 and trust me I do not like pain. The whole procedure takes less than 10 minutes and that’s counting undressing and putting your clothes back on.
I wish their regular prices wouldn’t be so expensive because I would love to do my underarms here as well.
I cant wait for my year to be up and see the final results.

I found this place on living social and purchased a deal for laser hair removal treatment for half arms and underarms. After feeling so comfortable at my first and second session, I decided to purchase an additional package for full Brazilian.
The office is very comfortable and inviting. The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable. Daniela is especially helpful and took time to actually explain the hair growth cycle which helped me understand the process and how to schedule my appointments.
This is my first experience with laser hair removal and it’s very positive. Definitely recommend!

Had my first session yesterday. The only reason they aren’t getting 5 stars is because it’s so hard to get an appointment! I have the year unlimited and I had to wait over a month for my first session. After each laser session you need to wait ~6 weeks until your next session. So when you do the math, your year unlimited will quickly turn into about 6 – 8 sessions. Just something to be aware of my fellow groupon lovers!
That aside, I did have a wonderful experience. The location is clean and very professional. I’m hopeful that I will see results. I’ll be back in 6 weeks and will update as I go

I have done laser for years and never have I experienced a laser with NO pain whatsoever. Whatever Step Up is using is DREAMY and is making my life complete.
I’m about 5 sessions in and seeing amazing results.
The spa is clean and beautiful, and all of the technicians I have met have been sweet and knowledgeable.
I had an item to speak with management about, and the manager was so friendly, nice and generous.
This place is a GEM.

Really recommend for laser hair removal! I have been to MANY different places for laser because I have required touch ups or multiple sessions/“packages” for the same few areas, so I bounce around between places to take advantage of new customer deals and whatnot. I’ve also loved the results of laser treatments, so I’ve done multiple areas!
ANYWAY, Step Up is BY FAR the BEST place out of the now 5 places I have been to for laser. Their machines are just as effective, but are SIGNIFICANTLY less painful than any of the other ones. I’m not sure what exactly the difference is technology wise, but instead of zapping you inch by inch, their machines go repeatedly over the area multiple times in shorter bursts and I guess that’s what makes it less painful? Idk. Either way, it’s just as effective and I’ve noticed great results and am obviously so pleased that it’s not as painful!
The staff is very friendly and relaxed. They are very willing to answer any questions and made me very comfortable. I do wish they had somewhere to wash off the gel in the rooms other than just wiping it off with a paper towel. My only complaint!
Their new space on 5^th avenue is HUGE, clean and very pleasant.
