Stephen Ramsay, DMD

After chipping a tooth at 1pm last week, I got a recommendation from a friend for Dr. Ramsay. I called at 2:20pm and Michael at the front desk got me in the chair with Dr. Glick before 3pm. I had a full cleaning in addition to getting my tooth bonded. Dr. Glick talked me through every step of every procedure and it was completely painless and quick. I’m extremely happy with the care I received at this office and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

The doctor might be fabulous, but his office manager (Michael) is opposite of that. He is rude, sarcastic on the phone and emails. I also did not get a respond back confirming my insurance was accepted after multiple calls, two voicemails and two emails. But instead I received an email that if I don’t cancel my appointment less than 24 hours in advance and don’t show up — they will charge me $ 150! That’s their policy — my policy is take my business elsewhere, somewhere where office manager has customer service skills.

I just moved to the big city from Westchester, NY and was in need of a dentist for a cleaning. I am very picky about my dentists since I hate any kind of pain (like everyone else out there) and previously had a lot of orthodontic work done. I scoured Unilocal review for an hour or so before coming across Dr. Ramsay who had GREAT reviews. I trust Unilocal so I went in for my cleaning. Everything went SO smooth from start to finish. Dr. Ramsay was so nice and made me feel very comfortable and walked me through what he was going to do before he did it. He didn’t try to say I needed a root canal or had a cavity like some previous dentists I had experienced (Mind you I did NOT need a root canal after 2^nd opinion). For example, I have a really old metal filling, he said I could replace this with a new white one if I wanted but was not necessary. Its SO NICE to have an honest dentist. The cleaning was pain free and he said to let him know if I was feeling any. Last but not least, I have this weird problem with my gum so he said he would refer me to his friend who is a jaw surgeon /​specialist and the consultation would be 100% free. I appreciate this so much !! I also LOVE how everything was online, I scheduled my appointment online, filled out paperwork online which is a huge plus. Michael the office manager is very quick and responsive to any emails which was great. I will be back for my 6 month cleaning and highly suggest you should try Dr. Ramsay out too !!!

I was referred to Dr. Ramsay by a friend. I never find a dentist that I can settle with long-​term and am constantly changing, which is frustrating, so I welcomed a referral. Dr. Ramsay exceed my expectations. He was completely honest (i.e. not trying to up-​sell further procedures or problems and explained everything every step of the way, nothing overkill). The X-​rays were digital and the cleaning was painless. Not only that but Dr. Ramsay does the cleaning himself! That was also a peeve of mine at other places. He also does a rinse/​cleaning process that assists in removing the surface discoloring. I am so pleased with my experience. Michael, the Office Manager as well as the X-​ray Tech were fantastic as well. Dr. Ramsay is a keeper for me!

I have been going to Dr. Glick for about 4 years. This is the absolute best dentist I have ever been to. A few months back I tried a dentist that was close to me, who told me I needed all these procedures, I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Glick to check and she said everything is fine. Completely pain free cleaning, and the office is comfortable. Michael who is always at the front desk is fantastic. Not your normal front desk manager at a dentist office, very personable and quick to respond to email and requests for appointments. I recommend this to every person looking for a new dentist!

I first heard of Dr Ramsay from Cigna’s website and did a quick google search on him. All of the reviews about him are right. He is the best dentist I have ever been to. The cleaning, exams and filling I had was painless. Dr. Ramsay and his staff are exceptional.
Don’t waste your time looking for other dentists because Dr. Ramsay is the best!

I really, really like Dr. Ramsay. He is very personable and I was pleased with the work he did on my teeth. Dr. Ramsay even called me himself a few days after a small procedure to make sure I was feeling okay and that I didn’t have any concerns.
Unfortunately, I was turned off by the office manager, Michael. As I was leaving the office the last time, he told me that there was a chance I may receive a bill for further payment but he «had no idea» how much it would be, if I would be receiving a bill at all. Months later, he emailed me saying that I owed them several hundred dollars. When I questioned him about the bill, he refused to respond with a definite «yes» or «no» answer, even when I directly asked him to.
On another note, every time I leave the office, I am asked to write a review for Dr. Ramsay which I find a little bizarre. It makes me wonder if they try to reel people in before introducing dubious business procedures.
I’m sorry to write this review because I would love to go back to Dr. Ramsay but I am too weary that I will leave with a mega mystery bill.

I saw Dr. Glick who gave me the only pain free cleaning that I’ve ever had. She also made an effort to explain everything to me and to help me with an issue that I was having. Michael was nice and it was easy to set up the appointment. I look forward to returning and I plan to tell others.

Great experience with Dr Ramsay. I was able to get an appt on short notice, and get my examination, xrays and cleaning all in about 45 minutes! Very comfortable experience with clearly very experienced and attentive staff. I never felt anyone was trying to push any products or services on me, instead it was all about what was best for me and my teeth. Would highly recommend!

Just had the most pain-​free, pleasant, enjoyable dentist appointments of my life with Dr. Glick. She was so sweet and gentle, I couldnt believe when she told me that teeth cleanings didnt have to hurt because my whole life has been filled by bleeding gums and pain related to horrible cleanings. I want my mom to fly out from California to get her teeth cleaned twice a year. Dr. Glick is THAT GOOD. Do yourself a favor and ditch the pain-​full cleanings by visiting Dr. Glick or Dr. Ramsay.

I am writing you on behalf of any future dentists I may have. They want to inform you that you and your staff have set the bar way too high and there is no way they can compete. Michael at the front desk is a ray of sunshine every day, and Cecile, your assistant, has an impeccable attention to detail. Her flossing lessons, combined with your tips and recommendations have basically put them out of business. Keep it up and there will be no tooth problems to fix anymore.

I visited this office for the first time and saw Dr. Glick and it was one of the best visits to a dentist that I’ve ever had! My checkup and cleaning was so comfortable I nearly fell asleep at one point. They also are a very efficient office, and sent me forms via email so that I could fill them out ahead of time instead of waiting in the office. Great office!

I have been going to Dr. Ramsay for over 11 years and have always had a good experience. Dr. Ramsay is a fantastic dentist! He’s knowledgeable, gentle and genuinely cares about his patients. Because of my genetically bad gums, I see him every 3 – 4 months as a preventative measure and always have a pleasurable experience. I am so grateful for the time and energy he spends on my dental care. And Dr. Ramsay’s entire staff (especially Michael) are so nice and accommodating. Most people dread going to the dentist but I truly enjoy going to see Dr. Ramsay. I have recommended him to over a dozen people who highly recommend him as well. Four stars!

After moving to Queens from NJ it was terribly difficult to find a dentist, especially once that I could trust. After many months of searching, a colleague referred me to Dr. Ramsay. She said it was the only dentist I would ever go to again. I recall her saying, «If you go, it will change your life.» It most certainly did!
Never in my life have I been to a kinder, gentler, or more understanding dentist. Dr. Ramsay was careful not to rush through the cleaning or inspection of my teeth. He took his time, which cannot be said about many other doctors. He also talks through what he is doing. That might sound weird, but it is very pleasant and relaxing.
Don’t think twice about making an appointment. As soon as you sit in the chair you will be at ease.

I was referred to Dr. Ramsay by a co-​worker and friend who raved about his informative and gentle approach to his craft. I’ve had terrible experiences in the past regarding dental work and Dr. Ramsay and his staff help me overcome those fears. Their facility is located near a garage and not too far from Grand Central Station making it perfect for anyone to access. Michael, the office manager, is also extremely helpful and getting the most convenient appointment set up. Can’t stress enough how Dr. Ramsay takes informing his patients and outlining cost effective treatments to get the best results. A++

Met with Dr. Ramsay last week and talked about his stellar Unilocal reviews, I just wanted to add one. Great dentist, friendly and understanding. He talks you through the whole thing, and doesn’t try to sell you things you don’t need. I’ll be referring him to all my friends.

The only man who’s hands will ever be in my mouth again! Ever!!! I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ramsay since 2003. I have referred nearly a dozen friends and everyone has loved him.

Dr. Ramsay, with his lovely australian accent, was reccomended to me by my brother who has suffered through alot of dental work and has highly sensitive teeth. After I became a patient my mother did as well and she treks in all the way from CT.
He drilled a cavity for me and gave me a thorough cleaning with this salt water high pressure technique that I had not received before. I’m sure that’s not the technical terminology, but the best way I can describe it.
The office is small and located not far from the 6 train on Lexington ave. Michael will greet you and work seamlessly with the insurance companies so you know exactly what type of bill to expect.
The whole experience is rather lovely, free of hassle and most importantly pain. The best dentist I have ever been to!!!

Dr Ramsay is about as good as it gets. He is extremely mindful of people’s time, courteous, earnest, knowledgeable, and friendly. He doesn’t rush you. You never feel like you’re just one of the objects on his conveyor belt.
And Michael, who mans the front desk is awesome.
Dr Ramsay is hands down the BEST dentist I’ve ever had.
Oh, and he thoughtfully shows BBC documentaries on a flat screen while you’re getting worked on so you direct your focus away from the screaming drill sounds to the hypnotic elegance of nature.

Dr. Ramsay and his office are great. He came highly recommended by my sister and she was right on the money. Very calming and friendly chair-​side manner and very knowledgeable. He went out of the way to accommodate my overactive gag reflex.
Michael, the front desk receptionist is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable with insurance stuff and also very friendly (and he even emails on your birthday!)
Strongly recommended if you need a dentist.
