Styleworks of Union Square

I have had the pleasure of knowing Carol socially, for many years. I have seen her at weddings, backyard parties, dinner in NYC and even for drinks in Paris and she has ALWAYS been beautifully and appropriately dressed. I have admired her fabulous style from afar but mistakenly, never took her up on her professional services. Somehow, since I have a different (and way less fabulous!) look, I didn’t think that I was the right match for her. Well, I was very very wrong!
After losing a key ‘presentation’ dress to a dry-​cleaning incident and realizing that most of my well loved pieces have been a little TOO well loved, I was in desperate need to find some new outfits for a number of upcoming events and presentations. With a limited budget and even less time, I knew I needed help. Fortunately, Carol came to my rescue!
The process started with a detailed questionnaire to help her determine my style preferences, my needs and budget. This was followed by a phone conversation and the creation of a shopping list. She then pre-​shopped 2 stores for me and accompanied me as I tried on all the pieces. If you have ever worked with a personal shopper, this is like personal shopping on steroids — not only did she have an intimate knowledge of the store and merchandise, she understood me and offered ideas and combinations I never would have made on my own! She made sure that everything I purchased worked with other pieces and was fastidious about finding the right fit — a HUGE challenge as I am a petite! She created and helped me manifest an ideal look that I could have never put together on my own and she made it fun and easy to boot!
This time we focused on affordable staples. Next time, I hope to be able to shop for some ‘wow’ pieces as well!
Carol’s fee is commensurate with her level of experience and expertise but the time, money and effort I saved by shopping with her more than made up for the expense! I don’t need to worry about clothes for the next few seasons knowing I can reach into my closet and find an appropriate outfit that will look and feel great — and that is, as they say, PRICELESS!
