They take great care of us and our clothes! We moved out of the neighborhood, but still send our cleaning downtown. They are better than anyone we’ve tried in midtown.

Great shop. I’ve taken the strangest things here for alterations (i.e. burned wholes in vintage 501’s where half the waist band needed replacing). Always a pristine job. Initially referred to me by Helmut Lang. Pro-​tip: they deliver

Sullivan cleaners is fabulous! I always have a positive experience. I am a regular and drop off cashmere sweaters weekly for my dog sheds a large amount. They always do a fabulous job. Recently I had my large black down jacket dry cleaned from the winter salt/​makeup build up on it– it looked amazing when they were done– brand new! I also dry clean my white baseball hats and they did an incredible job with them. I would 100% recommend them to any friend. They are friendly, thorough and meticulous. My roomate will always bring clothes down for a last minute press of a small alteration and they are flexible and always accomodate her.

I get my suits and good stuff hemmed and tailored here. So many other places use an overly heavy stitch and ruin my suits in nyc. The theory store uses them for their tailoring needs. The store doesn’t look like much and the changing room is just a curtained corner so I took a star off for that. But good service and good value (for soho) makes this a great option.

They cleaned my leather trench coat — they did a good job and they were friendly.
I haven’t been back since then, but so far so good.

I am convinced they just run your wash n fold thru cold water and call it a day. It comes back dirtier than before. Stains everywhere, oh and the hairballs that don’t even match my hair color. There’s still makeup on my linens! I told the lady that my clothing is dirty and she said it’s not their problem. I feel gross sleeping in my «cleaned» sheets. Disgusting on so many levels.

Have experienced wash and press for my husband’s shirts to wear to work and dry cleaning for very beautiful and delicate silk pieces I own. Lovely condition every time and great service. Also conveniently paired in the same space as a locksmith!

This is hands-​down the best «dry cleaners» i have ever gone to. They also did all my alterations beautifully — so beautifully i even trusted them with my wedding dress. And they did not charge me insane «wedding dress alteration» prices. And the owner team (I think they are husband and wife) are great fun when you get to know them. Im lucky to live in their neighborhood.

I recently bought a couple of new suit items. I took a pair of pants there to be taken up, it cost $ 20 (I think that was cheap!) — they did an excellent job and did it within in 2 days, very fast.
I also got a pair of pants taken in and that was only $ 20… very impressed again with the sewing job.
Definitely going to be using these guys for my sewing alterations. They are one of cheapest places (especially being located in SoHo) to get professionally done alterations.
Highly recommend them!

I’ve used Sullivan Cleaners for dry cleaning and I thought they were great! They have super friendly customer service and are very helpful.
They had my item ready when they said it would be and it looked as good as new!
Prices seem about average for the neighborhood.
They take credit cards with a $ 10 minimum.

I recently went to Sullivan Cleaners to have some alterations done on a dress I recently purchased. When I went back a week later to see the progress, I was incredibly unhappy. The dress was unevenly altered and was now too big on one side. When I mentioned this to them, they said that it was a difficult dress to alter. I then continued to expressed that I was not happy with their work but they offered no solutions (they were silent) and made me pay my bill. When I relayed this story to one of my co-​workers I discovered she had a similar experience with Sullivan Cleaners and her dress was ruined as well.
I will NEVER go to Sullivan Cleaners again! The staff was rude, unhelpful and I paid to have them ruin a perfectly good dress! If I could, I would give this place NO stars.

As a rule I don’t trust cleaners… I think most of them are part of some secret used sock syndicate where they steal people’s shirts and socks and then ship them over seas for profit… But not Sullivan Cleaners. As of this post they haven’t ruined or lost any of my clothes (that I’m aware of). I’ve also had a couple of hems done on my pants and the sleeves of a coat lining replaced, everything was done well.
So pretty much, if you live in the area give these guys a try, the owner is a nice guy and I’m pretty sure he isn’t a member of the laundry mafia.

The other reviews here seem mixed, but I haven’t had a problem yet. I brought some beautiful super-​wide-​leg Theory pants here to be lengthened, and the woman did a great job — she even pointed out that the pants were originally a bit uneven and she fixed that for me. I also wanted to make the pants longer than the extra inside-​seam fabric allowed, so she added some piping on the inside and made them as long as humanly possible. Everything took less than a week and cost me $ 25.
I brought my boyfriend here too to get a shirt taken in and it looked great — very professional. I also am a fan of their presentation when they clean my knits. I get my sweaters back in a sealed plastic bag that says «Your Sweater» — it’s like a present!

When I bought a gorgeous suede jacket from Alberta Ferretti, and I got it a bit dirty, they recommended Sullivan Cleaners. So even though it’s far from where I live, I decided to take it all the way to the West Village so my jacket would be in good hands. BIG MISTAKE!!!
It was ready early, and I went to pick it up. The proprietor made me pay before receiving the coat, which of course made me suspicious. It had been cleaned well enough but there was a rip in the suede and egregiously torn seams. The guy didn’t speak English and got so mad that he started yelling at me and grabbed the jacket away from me. I finally got across that this is not how «cleaning» should work and I should be refunded and the jacket should be fixed. Fast forward THREE WEEKS and I still hadn’t gotten the jacket back. Then he had the people he outsourced the coat to (from Brooklyn) call me to tell me the seamstress was ill (this is after a MONTH) and couldn’t fix it until next week. When I FINALLY went back to pick it up, it was really obvious where the seams had been restitched (and it was a lot bigger section than had been ruined before) and he wouldn’t give me the jacket back until I had paid full price, which I thought was a little obnoxious seeing as the jacket was in worse condition and he had taken so long to get it back to me. At that point, I just wanted my jacket back.
SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere that takes pride in their work.

these guys know how to do it all! they are fast and fabulous and totally fair.

So I have since moved on from Sullivan… Every neighborhood has cleaners so you have options. I do love the personal service, but they have consistently ruined several of mine and my girl friend’s items. Shirts have come back missing buttons, stains have been added to my shirts (and I get crap when I return them to be redone), down jackets have come back with ruined fir trim and I’ve missed a few items in the past. I’ve explained that I’ve been a good customer but if they continue to ruin items I’ll be leaving… nothing changed so I did…

They are very receptive, good counter service and reasonable prices, although I can pay less, I know they’ll take care of my gear. I’ve taken stained shirts back to them and they do there best to work on it for 2^nd round if you’re not happy. 5 star for service
Free pick up and drop off, but I prefer to drop off to make sure all my instructions are explained. Pressed shirts are $ 2.00, d/​c they are $ 4, «Tops», Skirts, Sweaters and Polos for dry cleaning are about $ 5 — $ 5.50, pants are $ 5.75 and suits are $ 12. Everything is well pressed and organized. 4 star dry cleaning
I’ve tried their wash n fold, which I know they just send across the street. They’re stingy with the soap there and I didn’t like the fold. Priced at scale and around $ 1 a pound if I remember. 2 star for wash n fold
I’ve used them for tailoring and although the stitching is good, they weren’t very receptive to my instructions. For instance, on a suit I asked twice to have pockets taken out and they didn’t — twice because I had to go back because the hem was too short the first time. I have another guy in LES that’s better value and work. 2.5 star for tailoring
