I walked into the store to browse, and there were 3 – 4 employees near the desk chatting. Not one even acknowledged my presence, said hello, or asked if I needed any help. Given I was the only customer in the store, that was enough to turn me off. If you know exactly what you want and you go in just to grab it, this place is fine. But don’t expect to walk in here and browse and have someone go out of their way to help. Also, somewhat limited sample of apparel.

Great service and always ready to help you find the right shoe. This location didn’t have my color so they were able to track down the color I wanted in the other store. Even called to let me know it was waiting for me. It’s nice to have a local running shop to go to rather than the big box brand stores. If you’re looking for novelty kicks this isn’t your place but if you’re actually looking for a good running shoe, they’ll help you find one here.

As of 12÷17÷15, this store is NOT closed. I just went in there to buy a gift card. The selection of items is not as big as some of the other stores(NY Running Company at Columbus Circle, etc) but they do have gels, sneakers, shirts, etc.

Terrible service. Not at all helpful with selections.. It would have helped if I was black. Could have gone to Modell’s for the same prices and awful service. Don’t waste your time

The staff at this shop is super-friendly and knowledgable. I went in to be fitted for a custom orthotic and sneakers to ease the pain in my knees. The foot scanning process seemed to rely quite a bit on human expertise, and my attendant called over another for help. When the orthotics arrived they had some bumps near the toes, but the tech was able to fix them on the spot. They cost $ 225. I also bought a new pair of sneakers with the orthotics, a souped of version of what I already had. So far, so good. We’ll have to see how the combo feels in a few weeks. Their return/exchange policy is very generous if things don’t work out.

Just as other SRS, this place offers excellent service and no BS knowledge of running. Also worked great for me as it is near my foot doc and as soon as I’m done with doc, I’m at store buying new shoes. No pain no gain, keep running mon.

One of my gripes about NYC is that there are only a few running stores in the city. It’s also really hard to find a running store with competent staff. Super Runners Shop is not as great as JackRabbit Sports in terms of selection, but they have pretty good gear for the winter running season. Here you will find mostly InSport, New Balance and Asics brand shoes and clothes. However, they did not carry my preferred running shoe! The staff seem to know what they are talking about. Make sure to tell them exactly what you are looking for — whether you are looking for walking or running shoes, distance, intensity, frequency, foot pronation, etc. I’m not sure if they analyze gait and do fittings, but I’ll find out soon when I need new shoes :) This store is a good alternative if you don’t want to travel to Jack Rabbit or the Nike Running Store.
