I eat here once a week for lunch! Their lunch boxes come with miso soup or rice and salad with edamame. They have a couple of different sushi options in the lunch boxes ranging from $ 12 – 16. Everything is cut fresh for a quick grab. The interior is also very hip and clean. Lunch time gets crazy on the weekdays so might be hard to grab a seat but the staff works fast so lines are fast and tables are cleaned fast!

Go here if you want food poisoning! For real though, I’ve had good sushi from here, but it’s hit or miss. The past 2 times I’ve been, I’ve had terrible stomach pains a few hours after consuming.

This sushi was amazing!!! Usually my husband and I favor Momoya in Chelsea but at nights there’s always a wait. The sushi shop was dead empty but do not let that fool you. My husband did not want to go in bc there was only 2 tables. I forced him to bc I was starving! This was amazing and I mean I love sushi… So I am really like a connoisseur of sushi. We had the Fire roll, Volcano, Shrimp tempura roll, Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Salmon Tataki app. Everything was on point with a shit ton of meat(fish) and I requested that all rolls be made with very little rice.

I was walking everywhere looking for a sushi restaurant on Saturday. I saw this place on Unilocal. It had a good priced lunch special with different combinations to choose from for $ 13 or $ 15. The sushi was fresh. I couldn’t even finish it all.

Since this place is a short walk from the office, it’s not a bad lunch option, but it’s not stellar either. The sushi is decent — nothing wonderful, nothing exciting, but nothing terrible either. There are a number of $ 13 and $ 15 pre-made lunch options, which are overpriced, but good if you’re in a rush. There’s also a lesser-known sit-down menu option(though at lunch, you still order at the counter) with more options. It doesn’t take too long to get your meal, though it’s not the fastest option on the block. There’s a decent amount of seating indoors, but it does fill up during lunch, and the lighting is a bit dim for the middle of the day.

The service was friendly and the food was fresh. We had the eel avocado, jalapeño yellow tail, dynamite, and tnt rolls. The portions were predictable/not disappointing. I enjoyed everything but found no reason to set this apart from many sushi places. I wouldn’t go out of my way to select this sushi over another but if I am hungry when nearby I would go back. I do really like the way they put their menu together though.

Great sushi. Even though it was prepackaged in the lunch boxes, it still tasted fresh. The vibe is cool there even thought I got my food to go. I ordered online and they got everything right. They give you a ton of washabi, ginger, utensils and even little dishes for the soy sauce. The price is also very reasonable for the amount you get. The combos come with rice and miso soup. Can’t wait to go back

Poor quality, took forever to get the food, and way way WAY overpriced. Not worth it. Will never go back again. Gotta go throw up now…

Sushi was ok, not the best I ever had. Prices are reasonable and compare well with the prices in other stores around. About $ 15 for a sushi lunch is normal in midtown. The seating and ordering systems are confusing. People around me didn’t seem to know the drill and staff was getting frustrated with them. Packaging is pretty awesome. A lunch box or roll of sushi are wrapped like a high end makeup kit or a gift. I was excited to open it. Dimmed lighting in the middle of the day makes for an interesting set up for lunch. When I was there the place was noisy and full of office dwellers from the area. Not a date spot despite the lighting.

I ordered for delivery and the guy on the phone said minimum was $ 30… I ordered 3 rolls and two salmon sashimi. The rolls were soggy and they were falling apart and the sashimi was the tiniest piece I ever seen lol they also forgot to add spicy mayo which I specifically asked for. Won’t order from this place again.

One of the better sushi places in midtown. This place is a classic 3.5* but I rounded down purely based on the food, as it didn’t «wow» me. The shrimp tempura, salmon rolls and California rolls were all good, especially with the spicy mayonnaise they put on the side. Everything tasted fresh and the service was fine. While I’d say its quite expensive as a lunch spot in contrast its really not that expensive as a dinner spot, so if I go again it’ll probably be for dinner. It’s a little casual for a business meal, more suited for a date or meal with friends/family. If you’re looking for a better sushi spot in the city then I’d go with Sushi Samba.

I came here with a friend of mine before heading to a show on Broadway for a quick dinner based on her recommendation. Though her experience had mainly been through lunchtime take out, we actually sat in the restaurant for table service. The place was pretty empty around 6pm, but perhaps that is more a testament to the clientele they tend to serve in such a busy daytime work area. I was surprised to see ceviche on their menu, a South American traditional dish is not something I expect to see gracing a Japanese sushi menu. I ordered the salmon ceviche, a regular miso soup and two pieces of salmon with ikura(salmon roe) one sushi and one sashimi. The ceviche was surprisingly good. The miso sup was basic and the sushi pieces were a bit off. The sashimi style, which was to come with cucumber, came in a hollowed out(cored?) end of a cucumber which was too bulky to eat. I guess it was just the vehicle for the fish to be presented on. Also, we checked in using Unilocal and that entitled us to a free spicy tuna roll(which wasn’t spicy nor was it really worth it). Service was beyond lackluster. Our server seemed less than enthusiastic to have us in the non-busy restaurant and we had to flag her down after some time of searching in order to finally pay our bill. Would I go back? Probably not. There are plenty of quick take-out style sushi spots near Rockefeller Center and this one did not stand out in any way. Perhaps it works best as a lunchtime take out joint.

My colleague suggested this place when were in NYC for a work trip, and since it was super close to our hotel(and it was kinda late), I thought, «why not?». The door says they are open 11am — 11pm. I notice that right away. And yet, when we walked in around 9:30, there was only one other table and the staff was mopping the floor. That should have been a sign. We sat down and looked at the menu. It was okay. A bit pricy, but hey, it’s NYC. There were a number of things I recognized(I love sushi), and we ordered several rolls to split between the two of us. Some basic rolls, some more exciting, but OH, the major disappointment when the food arrived. All of the fish was cooked. The fish legitimately tasted like cat food(or what I think cat food tastes like, I guess I don’t really know), and it was just… not good sushi. If this review was JUST about the sushi, I’d say three stars. Go if you’re not looking for anything awesome. But then the staff started getting really weird. They gave us our check right after the food came, and explained they close at 10. My colleague noted that the door said«11−11» and they didn’t acknowledge her. By that point there was another table eating, and I watched the staff try to hurry them through their meal, too. We literally still had sushi on our table while two different staff members came over and said«we’re closed.’ Like they expected us to get up and leave our dinner. Why seat us if it was going to be an issue? Why not mention that before we ordered? WHYDOESYOURDOORSAYYOU’REOPENUNTIL11PM? So many questions. Look, I have to think there’s better sushi in New York City. I’d suggest you find it.

I have been here more times than I could count! I work in the area so I love how I can just grab one of their prepackaged lunch boxes and had back to my office. Even if you get their prepackaged box you can still even eat it there, this place really is ideal for anyone pressed for time during lunch. The place is very clean and the sushi is fresh. I always get the same thing, lunch box #2. It’s only $ 14.10(includes tax) and you can get either rice or miso soup w the box. For what you get I personally see it as a good deal. I have never sat down and ordered from their menu just because I am only in the area for work and just don’t have the time. Overall a great place that I love taking my friends to when we grab lunch!

Love the concept. Swanky/trendy lunch spot that offers pre-packaged to-go sushi lunch meals. The sweet soy sauce packages are a nice touch. Can’t believe I’m commenting on this, but their napkins are clutch too. Very high-quality ones that customers can take from the utensils counter. The free spicy tuna roll Unilocal offer = good thinking! All that said, it’s extremely overpriced for just mediocre sushi. Understand that its right in the heart of midtown, but at least make some better sushi if you’re going to charge that much.

Sigh. The server was nice but nervous and he screwed up basically every part of my order. I asked for the squid and seaweed salad, which is a menu item and he brought me both a squid salad and seaweed salad. I thought that was just how it came so I don’t say anything. The squid had no seaweed in it, so I figured it just came in two bowls but he charged me for both. A roll was forgotten and I had to remind him and my miso soup never came even though I asked three times. Don’t try to take orders without writing them down if you can’t remember them! I’m pretty forgiving with service and he was a nice guy, but it was making me a little irritated. The place looks like it’s trying to be fancy but it really is more like a take out lunch spot the way the registers are set up and the fridge area for grab and go. Sub out the soup of the day and egg salad for low lighting and call it a sushi restaurant, I guess. It has a weird dynamic for a sit down restaurant. The sushi itself was fresh but the whole experience kind of frustrated me. The menu isn’t very exciting… Mostly tuna and salmon. I need to stop eating in midtown. It’s always a bad idea.

Déçus ! Très peu de monde dans le restaurant et les sushis n’étaient pas froids. C’est sûrement du fait qu’ils sont faits minute mais dommage !
