T Baar Bubble Tea & Smoothie

I came here for lunch and walked quite a few blocks to get there with a 1hour lunch but it was all worth it. I initially was going to get just my mango green tea bubble tea which was delicious by the way. I don’t think I’ve tasted a bad one yet. However, I have learned to say light on the ice and tapioca pearls because they decrease you tea content.
While looking around the store I saw this guy in the corner making some sort of sandwich and it looked good so I ordered one. It was a beef pancake and it was sooo delicious. He makes the sandwich right in front of you and it was cool to see him prepare it. The sandwich is made from this thin and nicely seasoned dough like the scallion pancakes with meat inside. I really enjoyed the sandwich and as I am writing this review I’m shocked that I haven’t gone back to get another one.
Definitely check this place out for some yummy bubble teas and don’t be afraid to try that pancake sandwich in the corner.

I go here praticaly everyday during lunch or free time. The tea is so sweet every time, and only $ 0.50 for jelly when you have tapioca. AMAZING! I shall go here practically every day when I can. GO HERE IF YOU WANT HEAVENLY BUBBLE TEA!

I’ve been here twice and both times the experience exceeded my expectations. The bubble tea is a great size to share for two (16oz). I dropped by again today for a pick-​me up after a long run and found the Sagittarius (passion fruit and orange) fruit smoothie was fresh and delicious. Extra bonus for having protein powder on hand, and as a cherry on top they upgraded me from the medium 16oz to large 24oz size — for free and with a smile. 5 stars!

Simply not good. The taro tasted watered-​down like I’ve never thought was possible. Will never return here — so if you are in the area I would recommend against it.

I made the trip to this place hoping to have some awesome bubble tea and I was very disappointed. Easily, this was the worst Taro Bubble Tea I’ve ever had. The Taro itself was way too sweet and the boba was sticky and icky. I usually like the chewiness of it, one of the main reasons I love bubble tea but this one is so soft it quickly turned into big blobs. Never again. Regretted ordering a medium, I’ve learned my lesson now.
1 star because at least they have outlets for charging and a cute seating area. But I don’t think I’ll come back.

This is by far the best bubble tea place in the city. They aren’t stingy with their tea, they don’t dump a huge load of ice to take up all the room and they toss in actual fruit. I make excuses to walk past with my boyfriend to make a trip in.
Passion fruit tea with ACTUAL fruit is my go too. I bought it the first time thinking I’ll just give it a try. Every time I walk by I must go purchase one. If this place was open everyday before I had to be at work I would have one every time. Such a treat for me and love that they have a stamp card as a loyalty customer. Buy a few and get one free.
They also have really great food. I watched them make it once and I had to but it. I forgot what it’s called but it was like a crêpe wrapped with pork and veggies inside. Delicious and well priced.

I came in the other day, and was pretty pleased overall. I only tried the Thai Milk Tea with boba, so I can’t speak for the rest of their products. The thai tea was just average, in my opinion– it wasn’t sweet enough and was just a tad too watery. The pearls were great though– perfectly sized and cooked. Also, the vibe of the place was pretty chill; my friend and I enjoyed sitting there for a solid hour or two. With that said, I’d return again just to try their other drinks.

I’m pretty much sold on bubble tea because of T Baar. I used to hate the stuff (couldn’t get past the weird consistency of tapioca pearls), but for some reason I love the bubble tea here.
I actually tried CoCo’s (the competition down the block) bubble tea and hated it. The tapioca pearls at T Baar are smaller and chewy, which I find more enjoyable for some reason. T Baar has decent prices — $ 3.25 for a medium drink and 75 cents extra for a large — cheaper than the competition down the block. There is no card minimum here, which I find so annoying about CoCo. At CoCo, pretty much every drink is under 5 bucks, yet there is a $ 5 card minimum — so inconvenient. Lastly, they sell food here. I haven’t actually tried their food, but not sure if I care to do so. My goal is to try every drink flavor they have.
I love CoCo’s drinks, but they don’t do bubble tea like T Baar. I’m so happy I hopped on the bubble tea bandwagon.

The bubble tea flavor is good. Tapioca pearls not so much, it is WAY too soft. They need to prepare the pearls better next time. But overall, it is OK!

For some reason this place gave off a bad vibe. But I still went with it. I got a corn dog, of which the bread just fell off, along with some dumplings. The dumplings had too much dough. I will never come here again just because there was nothing about it that was worth revisiting for.

–green milk tea w/​aloe & herb jelly: MMm the milk tea was yummy & i LOVED the aloe, but this drink had WAY too many toppings. i actually prefer more milk tea PLUS the herb jelly had no taste unfortunately
next time i’m back in manhattan, I’ll be back to try their ice blended drinks

The boba here is straight up disgusting. Little blobs of super soft pellets with no chewy consistency. Too soft I’m not sure how they got it so soft that it was just like a warm sticky pellet in your mouth.
Other than the nasty boba, the tea was just alright.
I gave 2 stars because the place is nice and clean and the people behind it were nice. But based on their bubble tea alone, definite no no

I actually trekked out here because if I had detoured to my regular bubble tea spot I would have been late for work.
The trek from the E train was a bit of a walk but I was craving bubble tea so there was really no going around it
I wasn’t expecting greatness from this shop because rarely does that apply to bubble tea. But I really did hope it was worth the trip. If I was closer in the area maybe. But to trek to get bubble tea here, probably not.
The service was somewhat friendly but not as accommodating when I asked if it was possible to talk the milk out of the special milk teas that they have for $ 3.25. They said no and that was that. I would assume the milk is pre-​blended with the tea so I didn’t make a big deal about it. But being a new shop in the area and all with another bubble tea spot across the street.

The flavors of the tea didn’t leave a lasting impression on either orders. I order the Apple flavored and Passion fruit flavored ones. The bubbles on the other hand was pretty good albeit a bit on the small size. I like my bubbles big because well BIG STRAWS are for BIG BUBBLES, no?
I would have to be really would have to be a fiend to come to this shop again although they do offer the loyalty card with 5 stamps for freebie instead of the standard 10 for freebie.

This place has some really tasty beverages. Their taro smoothie was really good and my wife liked the thai iced tea. You could go to town on some gel bubble thingies at the bottom of your mocha smoothie.

The best milk tea and tapioca I’ve had in the city and at a great price too! Another bonus is their frequent buyer card, only need to buy 5 to get one free! Most places it’s either 10 or none. Just found this place a couple weeks ago and I’ll be visiting much more in the future.

Great place, love the variety in drinks they have. The fruit smoothies here are delicious and refreshing. I wouldn’t come here for bubble tea, not that good but smoothies are !!

Atmosphere — ³⁄₅ — Free Wifi, but only 5 or so seats. It can also get pretty cramped when there are people waiting in line.
Service — ⁴⁄₅ — VERY fast. I hate waiting for bubble tea and they literally have your order in 20 seconds some times for the more basic drinks.
Bubble Tea ⁵⁄₅ — Enormous black bubble tea for 3.25 (large). They include a copious amount of pearls as well. It’s pretty much a meal. It tastes really good to boot.
What’s even better is that they have a punch card, and for every 5 drinks (over $ 2.75 or something like that), you get the 6^th for free. I’ve already gone through 3 punch cards in two weeks

Great place. I love their bubble tea. My fave is a passion fruit green tea with jelly and less ice. It’s just the perfect drink for sunny days in New York city. Service is very fast and polite. And actually they gave me a card with option for a FREE drink after purchasing, I guess 5 of the drinks, which makes me come back for 100%

Glad to see a familiar bubble tea chain opening up in the area! I came in to get a matcha latte since it was pretty cold outside. They were friendly and quick, making sure people didn’t wait too long for their drinks. I waited about 3 mins. after placing my order! If you’re not familiar with T Baar, give them a try. You can’t go wrong with a smoothie and if you want something simple, try their passionfruit tea (goes great with fruit jelly). I actually had my stamp card on me and they accept it here too, free drink!
