One of the things we learned at Taiji Body Work over the years is to put customers first and serve wholeheartedly, no business is too hard to do.

Joe have lived and gone to school in different cities in both China and Korea, which tremendously helped him to understand different people and appreciate their cultures. He hold a master degree in commerce from a national university in South Korea and currently attending the M. S in Integrated Marketing program at New York University.

Joe is an IT professional and a passionate entrepreneur. He also speaks Chinese and Korean.

I just got a massage with Cindy and it was incredible. I have had chronic back pain and she makes my back feel stress free every time. 39 for a 60mins full body massage — how can you beat that price??? However, this is not this only reason this place rocks, the massage theropist are awesome too! I’ve came here three times already and I could go back every single day! Allen is so professional, attention to detail and overall amazing! I had tension on the back side of my right leg and he spent extra time to massage into the muscles. Highly recommend!!!

I came here on a Wednesday afternoon for a deep tissue massage and here’s how it went:
I scheduled an appointment the previous day, for Wednesday at 5:30PM. Upon arrival, I see a few guys just laid out, sleeping on couches and it’s almost completely quiet. I read about that previously but somehow it was still disconcerting. Anyways, I told them my name and my appointment time and they seemed confused about it. But assigned me to one of the men and he showed me to the room that we’d be in. It was small but not cramped. Quiet aside from the sound of NYC traffic outside of the large windows covered by curtains. Speaking of curtains, those were the doors. But that wasn’t too much of an issue for me. The bigger issue was the fact that my masseuse barely spoke english. Now I get that english is a difficult language, but when you work in a predominantly english-spoken area, you should at least know english words relevant to your occupation. I tried asking questions and he would nod or just look at me with a confused half smile. Often times he would SPEAK TO ME in Chinese… Wish I could understand you buddy, but I don’t.
Onto the actual massage… eh. I am not one to undermine hard work and skill, but I genuinely feel like everything this guy did, my boyfriend could have simulated minus the lack of english. The guy did not ask me about my back whatsoever, and did not address problem areas either. He seemed pretty rough during some parts but I know that’s a personal thing and what’s rough to me isn’t going to always be rough to the next person.
I just felt like this could have been a more relaxing and relieving experience. I did use the $ 6 for $ 10 Unilocal coupon, bringing my total to $ 29 (not including tip).
I’m glad I didn’t pay more for it because I would have felt cheated, for sure. I would suggest this place if you need anyone with muscle to rub your back and you need it asap. But I’d say do your research and pay more for a better overall experience elsewhere.

My second time here and I love it. I’m not one for massages but after a rough week at work, this is my go to spot. It’s clean and the staff is friendly. This time I had a masseuse named Tiger. Three seconds in I had my whole spine cracked and it felt amazing. The hot stones were the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommended and come

Most massage places like this tend to be a bit sketchy, but I had a great massage here and the facility is very clean and newly renovated. You won’t be getting any sort of fancy oils or deluxe room, but that’s what’s to be expected. Tina was great, gave me an 75 min massage with hot stones and I felt amazing when she was done. I will definitely come back, it’s so affordable there’s no reason not to!

Once I Ignored the sketchy entrance and the men lying on the massage chairs in the lobby waiting for their next customers, I was in good hands.
Their reception is nice, the bathroom and the massage rooms are clean and every masseuse I have used so far are very polite and speak good English. Their prices are dirt cheap, you get 60 min of full body massage for $ 39. Your first checkin with Unilocal you get extra 15 min free. They also have other coupons in Unilocal that you can purchase.
I have worked with two women masseuse so far. They both worked patiently with my back and used the level of strength that I was comfortable with. They made sure to ask how I was doing throughout the course. The hot stone was my favorite. The oil they use isn’t so sticky but has a distinct smell which I am not a fan of.
All in all, it was more than the money worth. I will definitely be visiting this place again.

Been here many times and more often than not the massages are very good. My most recent visit this Friday past was amongst the best of the massages yet. Jenny (or Jeanie?) was my masseuse and she was pleasant, attentive, and did a very good job massaging all of my muscle groups for the right amount of time. Many times they will not pay enough attention to legs or hands/arms during massage but Jenny/Jeanie was attentive to All Areas equally and even gave me a nice scalp and face massage which is my favorite!
The front desk staff is mostly nice but this last visit the clerk (who I think was training?) was far from appropriate. She was rushed and flustered because she couldn’t figure out the credit card machine. She took out the frustration with her own ineptitude on me with a very negative attitude including eye rolling and dirty looks — so, minus one star. The last thing I want at the end of a relaxing massage is to get attitude from someone.

$ 39 for an hour, extremely convenient location. Seems clean. Trade off is variable quality. And some occasional noise from St Marks filtering up.
First time I came here for a back massage, my masseur «Charlie» was awesome. He paid great attention to the many knots in my back and successfully upsold me for 30 min more to take care of everything.
Went back spontaneously tonight with my boyfriend; they were able to take us immediately in a couples room (unexpected on my end but makes sense when we rolled in together) and we then had two very different experiences. My masseur (male) definitely did not know what he was doing so it was a really unsatisfying experience. He didn’t really speak English so I wasn’t sure how to address the situation. Boyfriend’s masseuse (female) kicked things off by walking on his back and basically gave a completely different massage than I got. She did a better job overall but he kept having to ask for less pressure and she kept saying he was making her crazy. Not the best customer service.
Needless to say, seems like the experience at Taiji can vary widely based on who you get.
If I go back, it will only be after confirming that Charlie is available.

Taji is amazing! It’s hard to find a decent massage place at A STEAL! Everyone who works here is so kind. Cindy was my most recent massager. She asked if I was okay throughout the massage. The massage was stellar. Wasn’t an easy one, haven’t had a full
Body massage in about a year. The music is great, it’s quiet and around the corner from my house. I promised myself I’ll book a full body massage once a month now. A++ to the Taji Crew!

Considering the insane massage prices in NY, this place provides high quality service at low price. I have been to this place twice. Different therapist each time. I booked the 75 min option which costs $ 41 (35+6 of Unilocal coupon) I work out 6 days a week and have stressful job. Requested a deep tissue massage. And they delivered. The therapists stood on my back and worked out the kinks in my spine. Towards the end I was surprised that they also included some hot stone massage for 5 mins.
Overall clean place. Quality massage. Will definitely visit again.

My sister and I were walking around the East Village last night after dinner and saw the $ 39 promotional pricing ($ 48 at other Taiji locations). Since we’ve been to the other Taiji locations in the past and usually got a decent massages, we decided to give this place a whirl.
The back massage I received was probably slightly worse than the massages I’ve received at other locations — the masseuse went over the bony areas a little too much, but still an ok massage. What really killed the experience for me was the facial massage she gave me at the end. She dug her fingers into my cheeks and pressed really really hard, as hard as she would on a sore muscle. Now I have pretty sensitive skin so I didn’t really appreciate how rough she was being. Plus, I don’t think you’re ever supposed to massage someone’s face like that. The face is a sensitive area and pressing too hard can cause broken capillaries. She did stop after my initial protests but still not an enjoyable way to end a massage.
I’m giving this place 3-stars since it’s cheaper than the other Taiji locations. However, I probably wouldn’t come here again. I’d rather pony up the extra $ 9 and go to the Greenwich Village or 59^th St. location.

Great massage, and an awesome deal with the promotion they’re doing now. Only $ 39 + tip for a 75 minute massage… you won’t find that anywhere else for this quality! The place is very clean and while it’s nothing fancy, there’s air conditioning, which is crucial for the summer time.
I had a massage with Linda (I believe that was her name), and she was great. Firm but not overly so. She did a full body and didn’t ask many questions or talk much, but it was perfect for me anyways.
The ladies at the front are also way friendlier than the ones at the other location I’ve been to, so I’ll definitely be frequenting this one!
