Really nice guys, so I was hoping for the best here. They have some nice stuff on the racks(albeit expensive), so if you see something you like, and it fits you or only needs minor adjustments, go for it. But they push that they custom make clothing also, so I figured I’d have a shirt made. Their strategy is to make things insanely large with the mentality that it can be tailored in afterwards. The original product would’ve been too large for me even if I was 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier. From there, they shortened the whole shirt, took it in to make it more fitted, shortened the sleeves and cut them in to make them thinner, cut out some of the width of the shoulders, etc. The end result is a shirt that appears to be the correct size but just fits extremely awkwardly(folds and bunches up in all the wrong places, especially when moving around, reaching for something, etc.) Essentially, I’m a size small, but they made an XXL shirt and tried to tailor it to fit me, which doesn’t work. It took about a month, 4 fittings, and $ 180 for a button down I’ll never wear because of how poorly it fits. So here’s the lesson: if there’s something good for you on the racks, enjoy. But if you’re thinking about having something entirely custom made, just don’t. Really.

Dress for the job, relationship, life you want not the one you have. I’ve always had a fashion sense about me that allows me to command a room with my 5“1 frame without saying a word. Number one rule for getting your foot in the door, dress the part, we are New Yorkers — we set the Standard.(Shout out to my boys @ The Standard — Fri night) You are being seen by thousands of people a day which is why I choose to be seen in a Teddy Boy original. I always walk with tunnel vision and it wasn’t until I had a minute to observe my surroundings and notice this amazing store next to the place I get my eyebrows done that 2+2=4 Me. Ahmed and Evan have a creative eye, punctuality and anticipation for what you want like a sophisticated old-school Italian tailor that probably De Niro goes to stuck inside their adoringly debonair 30-something year old bodies. I’ve had two pieces made a jumper/romper/onesie so sophisticated, I’m mentally debating pushing the casual Friday envelope just to make a statement. And a pin stripe shift dress, that I do wear when I want to personify power in the presence of bulging bisceps stuck inside of button downs and ties spitting finance facts at the Monday morning meeting. Directors and up, need apply.

Was this the longest Winter in history or what? Teddy Boy saved my day and helped keep me warm till the first days of Spring. When I discovered this place walking around one day, I saw the most beautiful asymetrical peacoat with my name on it. When we walked in to browse the store, we were greeted by a nice gentleman named Evan. He was really helpful with the selection in the store. Gave us a little background on the different styles and helped me try on a couple of coats. I loved them all, but I could not stop staring at the peacoat on the mannequin in the window. After a couple of visits back to the store, the peacoat was mine! It was sent back for small adjustments and alterations, but afterwards, it was perfect for me! What a great investment and transitioning coat for the Spring! Now I don’t have to look like a Michelin Penguin in my long down coat.

These guys know what they are doing and what they are doing is good. They designed a custom denim jacket for me and, quite simply, it is the best damn denim jacket I have ever had. Thank you Guys!

I would not recommend custom tailoring here — overpriced, average materials, disorganized, and untimely. Nice guys, and decent off-the-rack stuff though.
