The first thing you see when you walk in is this miserable persons face. She greets you with hanger and hatred. She has no personal and social skills. p She takes your order with disgust like you did something hortatory her. She makes you feel like she is paying you to eat her food. I’m discussed with this crazy lady and her attitude. I will never return to this restaurant, and I will tell everyone about this nasty ladies attitude. The food in this place is just like every other Chinese restaurant in the area. I will be ordering somewhere that welcomes my business and have social skills.

Teng isn’t the best but it’s Volumous, cheap, and gets the job done. They also have brown rice! They are pretty fast if you order in person too

Quality has greatly improved. Hot & Sour soup is delicious with no pork, awesome. Spring Rolls yummy and not greasy. The ordering feature through Unilocal is great, has your order ready without the confusing/embarrassing ordering process.

I forgot I ordered here before I was so hungry and couldn’t decide where to eat but they have failed once again. Their food is horrible their rice taste like grease and there is sticky stuff on the lid of my container. Don’t they know to wipe stiff down. I really want to know what is the health code rating on this restaurant. I seriously don’t understand why people are giving such a good/greeting for this place because I’ve had nothing but a bad experience each time.

The best Chinese food in the area. They are clean(have an A rating), have good customer service and the food is tasty. Depending on who’s working the wok, determines the quality of food you’ll receive, i.e. gamy, thin cut meat or thick, hearty pieces of meat; oily rice or perfectly seasoned rice, etc. The sitting area is clean. Their delivery turnaround has gotten very slow — went from 20min to 1hr — so it’s best to call it in b/c it’s usually ready in 10−15min.

My go to Chinese place in East Harlem when I go shopping at Costco and want to grab something to eat. Pretty good Chinese food(I’ve had the shrimp rolls and shrimp with broccoli) or at least what I’ve sampled was decent. The place is small, with only 3 or 4 tables, and like Chinese fast food hole in the walls, negative on the ambience scale. The efficient and professional cashiers all seem like under-aged daughters of the owners, and all the staff, cooks and cashiers, seem to be wearing worn and ratty baseball caps. I felt so bad once I wanted to donate some of my unworn caps but was afraid to insult them. My tip, unless you live here, weather permitting, do take out, and bring the food by the concrete benches on the terrace by Costco. You get a magnificent view of the river and some hearty, quite delicious, Chinese food Cantonese American style.

I haven’t seen too many asians up here. Yes, I am one myself. That being said, it’s rare to find Chinese places up here. After all, it is Spanish Harlem. As a fail asian girl, I still haven’t learned to cook all the food that my parents make, and living on my own, sometimes that craving can kick in at about. oh, say 10 pm when I’m walking home from the train station. Got their Sweet& Sour Chicken one day and it wasn’t too bad. A little weird that the sauce was put on the side, but I did have it as take-out. Not the greatest, but I didn’t mind considering the options up here. It satisfied the craving for the moment.

Honestly, I have never had a bad meal from these people, and I have ordered from them dozens of times, carryout and delivery. They use(surprisingly abundant) fresh veggies, their food isn’t swimming in greasy sauce, and when you order chicken or beef dishes the meat they use appears to be of decent quality. Delivery and counter service reliable, quick, and polite. Of the 5+ hole-in-the-wall Chinese joints in the immediate vicinity, Teng Dragon is by far the best. Only complaint so far is the egg rolls — barely edible in my opinion, though the same can be said for practically all such take-out joints. Steamed or fried dumplings are a much better choice here as appetizer.
