Terminal A Marine & Delta Shuttle Terminal

Terminal A is my favorite at LGA; short lines, small, comfortable, quick to navigate, decent food choices and friendly Delta staff.

I llllooooooovvee it when I fly to Chicago and get to use the Delta shuttle at the Marine Air Terminal. First, the original terminal building is an Art Deco gem. It’s beautiful.
Second, most people flying in and out of here are business travelers so they know what the heck they are doing. Therefore, even if there is a security line it moves superfast. I’ve never spent more than five minutes in line here. When they ask who has pre-​check nearly every hand goes up so they sometimes use both non-​precheck and precheck lines to expedite security clearance.
There’s one little place to eat, which is expensive since it’s at an airport but they have a decent selection.
You can easitly catch the Q47 bus to Roosevelt/​74 for the E/​F/​R/​M trains or get the M60 Limited to go to the N/​Q/​R at Astoria Blvd or take it into Manhattan.
This little terminal is so easy to get in and out of, the last time I landed there I was off the plane and at the bus stop in three minutes. It took me all of 37 minutes to get from the plane to my apartment in midtown via the bus and the subway. I couldn’t even beat that in a taxi.

Could this be real?! Does Laguardia have a pleasant terminal? YES. In my Über last week, I saw Terminal A Marine Terminal on my boarding pass and thought there was a mistake. Nope, it’s the real deal. We got lost trying to get here because it’s separate from the rest of the airport. When we pulled up, it was very strange, walked in, only one security line (I have TSA and that went completely in vain here) and all the workers were SO friendly. «Thank you Tara dear» and «Ok sweetie“‘s are not the norm for airport security. Once through the security line (I was the only person on it) the terminal was so cute and trendy. About 30 chairs, all leather comfy seats, and only about 6 gates in the whole terminal. There was a very nice bar area to grab a bite where the bartender was super cool, and even helped with my crossword :)
Wish I knew about this well kept secret earlier.

This is (still) a great way to fly! Before you even arrive, there is parking right out in front of the terminal and a convenient drop-​off just feet from the entrance for those utilizing a car service. Once inside there are never more than a few flyers on line with security, and before you even make it into the lounge (where complementary coffee awaits) there are free newspapers and magazines for the taking. The entry is so easy, you may miss the original historic 1939 art moderne (deco) building with the colorful flying-​fish exterior ceramic frieze and elaborately circular muraled interior; you don’t need to go there to get to your flight, and admittedly the services it offers are minimal, but its an architectural landmark so consider stopping in if time allows. Depending on time of day there are shoe-​shine services and a small café available in the departure lounge which has plenty of charging stations as well. Unfortunately, Delta has moved its Boston flights to the main terminal so only Chicago and Washington, DC shuttle travelers are treated to these amenities, but with only six gates it’s never a long walk to your plane so for those with the option this is the terminal of choice.

I dislike LaGuardia Airport ENORMOUSLY, with one exception. I absolutely LOVE the Delta terminal. Older, distinct building (great murals — WPA?). Small but nice bar/​eatery, ample seating, PLENTY of charging stations. Just a different vibe from the cramped & claustrophobic terminals in other parts of LaGuardia.

Best terminal ever. It is a throwback to an earlier time. All the passengers are wearing nice business suits (and it reminds me that people used to dress up to fly in another era). Very comfortable seating with tons of charging stations. Someone pouring free coffee in the AM and you can grab a complementary newspaper. The one restaurant after security is nothing to get excited about so I normally grab a bite in Manhattan before I get to the airport. Security is actually a pleasure to walk through and I have never had a wait.

Pre check-​in was fast despite the 1 line they have. The airport (terminal A) has a small gift shop and a small café and that’s about it.

Free at least, free at last. Many torturous hours of travel horrors wiped away in the welcoming arms of free coffee, upholstery and NO LINES.
Oh to be a business traveler who gets to jet in and out of this oasis of calm and fantasy travel bliss.
Sadly, I never fly NY-​BOS or DC so I will savor the memory of traveling like the nobility at the Terminal A Marine, the grand dame of travel.

Gonna jump on this bandwagon. Chicago is home so AA is preferred for weekly flights to LGA, but Delta, you’re making it a harder decision. Easy changes when there are delays, civilized vibe in the comfortable terminal, no lines, free snacks when things get tense. Look for the Silver challenge on the Delta website.

I’m surprised by this terminal. I can’t believe how fast I got checked in and through security. I arrived here two hours before my flight and was the only one checking in and the only one at security. I wish it was always so efficient and easy. The staff was friendly and smiling, probably because they don’t have to deal with crazy people yelling about how they need to get through ASAP.
The waiting hour is nice. Good seats with lots of areas to. Charge phones and other things.
For those of you who are complaining in other posts that there’s no free wifi, that’s not a shock as it’s true for all of LGA. But you can get a complimentary half hour from boingo if you look at their sponsor or download an app. It’s easy and works fast enough. It would be nice to get better/​longer time wifi but it’s fine.

This terminal is BIZARRE. That is the only way to describe it. To get there you go past the main airport buildings and it almost feels like you took a wrong turn. Then all of a sudden you are thrown back into the 1930s. I mean really, read about this terminal:

There is a cafeteria (literally, and it smells like elementary school too) but no other hot food options. There is a little kiosk thing for magazines and snacks. Then you walk through to departures and you check your bag and then just sit and wait for your plane. It is so tiny it feels like there’s NO WAY you are in NYC still. Also, there’s no way you are living in the 21^st century.

Tiny terminal filled with business folks from what I can see. Only commuter flights and although it’s out of LGA which is known for delays I have had little to no hassle getting in and getting out.

Super tiny terminal, but it gets the job done. Easy security access line, places to sit and charge your phones and such, free magazines all made for an easy trip out of NYC. Food prices are extremely expensive, but that is to be expected at any airport. I would definitely not mind flying out of here again.

Talk about effortless. I wish all my flights were this seamless. Got my ticket and was through security in like seriously 5 minutes. I arrived at 4:53pm for a 6pm flight and was able to catch the 5pm! Amazing. Flights go out on the hour so they are awesome about bumping you up to an earlier flight. So happy with my experience :)

Love this terminal… For commuter connection flights only, and food choices are limited, but free newspaper and charging options is key. The no wifi is a bit tacky, but i would take that over the new delta extension terminal ANY day of the week. You can keep your shake shack and twelve mile walk between the terminal and luggage/​cab line. I wish all my flights left out of this marine terminal!

Like many of the other reviewers, I wish all my flights could be out of this terminal. Little to no hassle getting through security, cute seating with chargers in the waiting area. A nice coffee bar and drinks bar, depending on the hour, and it seemed decent food. The terminal itself is small so you don’t have to walk too far to get to your gate.
It doesn’t have many food options though, just the one restaurant, and it doesn’t have much in the way of shopping to pass the time. But since the security is such a breeze, don’t arrive too early and you won’t get too bored! Of course, LGA doesn’t have wireless internet for free, so no surfing or working online to pass the time. But that’s true of all LGA, not just Terminal A.
Compared to other terminals at LGA, this one is just top. Just comfortable and not crazy. No running from one side to the other trying to find your flight. Easy and simple.

As far as airports go, LGA is… not the greatest. So when I looked around Terminal A, which is reserved for Delta’s commuter flights, I felt like I had shown up in the wrong place.
Free newspapers, comfortable leather couches, charging stations next to each seat. Security line is non-​existent. There’s a magazine store, a coffee spot, and a small bar-​like area. It’s a really comfortable area that has everything you need.
The Marine Terminal is isolated from the rest of the airport, so take extra care if you’re driving to La Guardia.
Only downside — no free wifi. Obviously, this is a HUGE downside and a really annoying one, but that’s true for all of LGA.

Constant delays, general incompetence. I have flown out of this terminal with delta three times for business, and they would not have my money if I had any say in the matter. The first time, my flight was delayed for over 2 hours because our captain was stuck on an inbound flight which had been delayed. Seriously???
The next time, my flight was canceled at the last minute, and I received no phone call, no email, nothing. They don’t care because it’s just an hour of your life until the next one shows up… except the whole beauty of the terminal is supposed to be that you can show up last minute without waiting for too long. Then, of course, that flight was delayed too. So, while I could have spent an extra three hours in the comfort of my expensive hotel room, I spent it in a lovely airport terminal.
Thanks for nothing Delta. I am done with you.

5 airport stars. What commercial travel should feel like. Plush chairs and outlets all over the place. Wish I could take all flights out of this terminal.
