Our menu is packed full of cancer-​fighting and age-​defying antioxidants, always with zero cholesterol and no artificial ingredients. At Terri, we’re all about serving good food on the go. We offer counter service and café seating if you want to dine in, or stop by and grab something to go. If you work or live nearby but don’t have the time to get out for lunch, don’t worry! We offer free delivery with a $ 10 minimum. Our goal is to provide fresh, high-​quality food that is easily accessible and affordable.

History

Established in 2010.

Longtime friends Craig Cochran and Michael Pease co-​founded Terri with the idea that healthy super foods should be as accessible as traditional fast food. They believe that wholesome foods should no longer be a luxury, and the entire team at Terri strives to meet that standard. Named after the loving mothers of Mike and Craig that share the same name and taught them the importance of taking care of themselves, earth and all earthlings, Terri is evolving fast casual dining as we know it.

Went for the first time today. Place is really small, but I’ve passed by the location in the financial district and it is also pretty small. I had the Chicken Ceaser wrap and I must say it was better than any omnivore version I’ve ever tasted. They were also very friendly, and pretty fast with my order. It is a bit pricey though, and everything is a la carte. I hope they incorporate meals or something in the future that can help you save a bit of money. I’ll just by the sandwich going forward and buy a dollar water outside. Will be back to try those other sandwiches soon!

While I am not vegan or have dietary restriction, I am a huge fan of soy protein and vegan food. Naturally I had to try Terri, and I loved it and am looking forward to trying more items on its menu.
I had the Southwestern salad, which includes savory BBQ «chicken» (aka soy protein) over a bed of romaine with quinoa salad made with corn, black beans, tomato, and red pepper. The salad comes with a side of guacamole and chipotle dressing. The BBQ chicken was tasty/​flavorful (but maybe a bit oily/​greasy. I wonder what the sauce was made with?) and didn’t have that dreaded rubbery texture. I almost prefer it to the real meat :) The quinoa salad was also surprisingly delicious!

Seriously? Did I get a soup and sandwich combo? As soon as I picked up this sandwich, liquid started pouring out of it like a faucet and the sandwich fell apart there was literally half a cup worth of liquid in the foil when I was done with it. The sandwich itself is tasty but you can barely eat it because of the way it was put together. Maybe put it in a bowl next time if you’re going to add so much dressing.

Terri, I used to like you soooooo much!
Why has the Portobello sandwich gotten so gross? Why is it different every time I eat it? Why can’t I even identify the different food items in the sandwich and distinguish between the flavors. Tell me why!
Would have complained while I was eating it, and asked for the situation to be rectified but I had already walked a few blocks away.

This place has lackluster service, a borderline disturbing inattention to detail, and some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten.
I was starving after walking seven blocks and riding the B train for 49 minutes to get to the flatiron district; this place was supposed to be my Vegan haven. Most of the reviews on here praise Terri’s for it’s food, saying that it’s worth the price and possibly some of the best vegan food in the area.
I completely disagree.
The boy behind the counter spoke so quietly that he had to repeat everything to everyone. He looked like he was perpetually considering crying his eyes out (probably because he’d eaten there). After asking if the chicken substitute was gluten-​free (it wasn’t), I asked if I’d be safe with the Avocado Hummus wrap. He said yes, but that the «Tuna» melt was pretty good. I went with his suggestion.
Bad choice.
My boyfriend was done eating by the time I received my food– both our wraps were grilled, and we ordered at the same time.
It was lukewarm, which is never a good sign. I bit into one end and found it completely full of vegan cheese (which is not a nice mouthful). Assuming it was a fluke, I bit into the other end– only tomatoes. I cut the wrap open to find that the «tuna» was all in the middle of the wrap— I had to drink straight espresso after in order to get the taste out of my mouth.
It was a complete waste of $ 11. Bobby’s avocado wrap made him sick, too. I don’t understand the hype. I’d skip this place and go to Blossom du Jour if you want some nice vegan food in a hurry, or Peacefood Café if you have time to sit down. Just not here.
Update: One of the customer service representatives took time to message me and respond to all of the points I made in this review. While it doesn’t change my experience, it does change my view of the business. I appreciate that they’re paying attention to this, and maybe I’ll give it another try next time I’m in New York.

I was not at all impressed with the food or service at Terri. My ‘chicken’ caesar wrap was sloppily made and consisted of lettuce drenched in dressing with a few pieces of cold, rubbery fake meat product, and my boyfriend’s ‘bacon, cheddar, chicken ranch’ just tasted artificial. I’ve been to plenty of vegan places that have made great faux-​meat sandwiches and wraps (HipCityVeg in Philadelphia comes to mind), but Terri leaves much to be desired.
Stick to the overpriced juice. Skip the food.

Nice little vegan stop for a quick lunch or meal on the go. We always enjoy the Buffalo «Chicken» Sandwich. Salads are located in the cooler to the left of the registers. They have a few stools, but seating is very limited. Also, no restrooms…

I was craving a Thanksgiving sandwich (you know the kind…“turkey”, cranberry sauce, stuffing.), and yep, they have it! It is delicious beyond belief! I have since gone back three times to get the same thing.
I also tried the Butterfingers shake. It is also very good and filling.

We had a staff lunch ordered and delivered from here. I’ll start by saying I thank my lucky stars I’m not vegan. We had an assortment of sandwiches — I tried half of a Thai «chicken» wrap. To put it in a word… Blech! The soy protein whatever thing they tried to make into chicken was horrendous in texture– gummy and pretty tasteless. The sauce they used on the sandwich did not help– it was also tasteless. Any flavors in this wrap were either so «soft» and mild that they were barely detectable, or they were outright unpalatable.
I also tried a tiny piece of the BBQ chicken sandwich and I can say that was a marked improvement. I would consider bumping my rating up to three stars based on the slightly redeeming quality of the BBQ option, but then this happened:
The next day, we had our staff dessert from this same establishment. Vegan brownies. «How bad can they be?», she said. «They look kinda like fudge,» she said.
Good God whatever you do,
don’t smell them before eating one. They don’t smell like chocolate or fudge. Try earthy vegetables at best, and at worst, dog food. Yes, they smelled like dog food. And they tasted like they were made with vegetable broth instead of water. The mere memory of it is enough to put me in a bad mood.
I almost left the office and got a Frappacino as a consolation prize, but I refrained. I don’t even want to think about the calories I totally wasted on those few bites of vegan brownie… and I hate to break it to you, but vegan does not automatically mean «healthy». So I ate calories of something not worthy of being called a brownie. So thrilled I’m not vegan. Back to my omnivorous ways. I feel like sticking some bleu cheese right into the middle of those vegan brownies, and maybe wrap them in bacon. But why destroy perfectly good pieces of bacon?
And what is the fascination with fake meat?! If you’re a vegetarian or vegan, shouldn’t you eat VEGETABLES rarer than things pretending to be meat?

I think Terri is my favorite Vegan fast food place because it was my first. The first vegan eating out where I could order anything I wanted on the menu without even thinking about it or having that awkward conversation with someone about what is and what isn’t vegan. So that gets 3 out of the 5 stars.
Then another star for the delicious food. I like the sandwiches and wraps a bit more than the salads but that being said, the salads are pretty filling and definitely energy boosting.
And the 5th and last star is for the people behind the counter. Every time I have been in the 23rd street location the people behind the counter have had a great vibe. There is cheerful energy in the place and I like to think it comes from being cruelty free.

Sure: like pets, toddlers, and people who recently underwent dental surgery, vegans can’t always eat everything I can, and I sympathize. That’s why sometimes I like to put on my vegan hat, suspenders, and cape (as is tradition) and wander into the world of veganism. Sometimes, it’s great (see Chloe, By). Sometimes, it’s not (see the rest of this review).
When you walk in, you first notice the quotes. Not like «my only regret is that I have but one life to give for my country» (chills), but more like «chicken», «cheese», «pork», and «food». Apparently their favorites are the «buffalo» «chicken» and the pulled «pork», which is why those are ranked on their menu so high (also they have a menu in order of popularity, like if high school locker rooms in movies opened their own restaurant.)
So, what’s a confused non-​vegan to do in a situation like this? Ask about EVERY. SINGLE. MENU ITEM. Why are there quotes around chicken? What about pork? How did buffalo get involved here?
I don’t remember which I got but you know what, it wasn’t very good. With the new By Chloe opening around the block soon, these guys are in «trouble»…and I never plan on eating here again.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE VEGAN SPOT! I usually order if I come home from work late and just need something easy. I’m also gluten-​free, and Terri offers gluten-​free options (which are freaking amazing) with the wraps and sandwiches so talk about cool. I usually order the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, but word of advice, tell them to go light on the buffalo + mayo sauce, sometimes it is way too drenched, but nonetheless, it is amazing. Being a gluten-​free wrap, the quality is amazing.
For sides, the roasted sweet potatoes are hands down the best thing I have ever had. For $ 3.67, you get a hearty helping of delicious roasted sweet potatoes.
For dessert, the oversized Peanut Butter cookie makes my world go-​round. While I’m not sure a cookie is healthy, even if it is vegan and gluten-​free, I don’t care. This cookie is so dense and moist and perfect, especially for being gluten-​free. The cookie is about $ 2.76!
I’ve also tried the Pumpkin Pie Smoothie and it definitely can count as a full meal. But I liked it as well, but also a little bit on the expensive side ($ 7.61).
Normally I order via Seamless and the service is great (within the hour it is delivered), but I’ve also ordered take out while passing the restaurant.
Nonetheless, this is probably my go-​to restaurant to fit my eating habits, but also to not sacrifice taste and quality.

Terri is located near the subway, so it is very easy to find this place!
Although I have enjoyed their two delightful juices, I don’t think I’ll visit this place again in the future. Maybe because I only tried their juices? I couldn’t find anything different from other Juice stores that made this store stand out. All the other juice stores have healthy juices, with similar price, and they all taste pretty much similar.
My friends and I got Health of Insurance (has kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber, green apple and celery), and a Spice of Life (has green apple, pineapple, mint and jalapeño). I guess I have to say I was intrigued by their fascinating/​interesting names.
I only visited this place, because it had such a high reviews, but I guess those reviews are mostly for their foods. With regards to the Juices that I tried, nothing really special.

Just discovered this place and it is amazing. This will be my go-​to Flatiron vegan casual dining spot. The Thanksgiving Sandwich offers the delight of a vegetarian holiday «leftover» creation with turkey (seitan), cranberry jelly, crunchy pieces of walnut and little bits of celery.
The Comfort Plate is such a good vegan BBQ platter with sides. The cornbread is soft and moist. The BBQ seitan is sweet and chewy (almost like a soft jerky) with caramelized thin strips of onion. The kale salad and potato salad are simple, which goes well with the flavorful seitan.
Green Power Smoothie — I’ve actually seen a BuzzFeed article listing these ingredients as the ingredients for the most amazing green smoothie. Ingredients are: kale, banana, pear, almond butter, and soy milk. The pear gives the smoothie a uniquely slightly grainy texture. The almond butter adds sweetness and makes the smoothie feel more filling.
My counterpart is on a carb free diet and could not resist eating half of my Mini Apple Pie. The crust was soft and hearty at the same time. It was not too sweet — the perfect late night dessert.
If you like this place, I would also recommend Blossom Du Jour if you’re in Midtown West.

This place is close to my work, and I came for the great reviews. Coming from a meat-​eater: I was pleasantly surprised at the meatiness & cheesiness of the meatball sub. I also ordered the Butterfinger shake as everyone instructed, and I agree – it’s a must-​get! I don’t know what they put in it, but it’s so delicious! Tasted like an actual Butterfinger; I forgot it cost me $ 8. Haven’t decided if I’m gonna be back yet, as I prefer real meat.

The green power smoothie is really that good. I’ve tried many green smoothies, and something about the combination of pear, banana, and almond butter makes this smoothie very difficult to stop drinking. In fact, I often finish this far too quickly. You can replace the soy milk with almond or coconut milk at no extra charge! The pear adds a grainy texture to the smoothie, which you may or may not like. The kale, as with many other green smoothies, is undetectable in the taste.
The Southwestern Chicken Wrap is so decadent and delicious, it’s hard to remember that it’s vegan/​vegetarian. BBQ flavored «chicken,» guac, corn, tomato & lettuce, all slathered in some kind of magical vegan sauce that tastes better than I could describe.
Please open up in midtown east soon!

Been here a few times and the sandwiches are tasty. I’ve only tried the «Chicken» Southwestern, which was good, comes in a nice rosemary focaccia. I also had the «Meatball» sub, which I didn’t like — the meatballs were almost too flavorful in a fake, maybe msg kind of way. The Breakfast Scramble wrap was good.
I liked the chocolate cupcakes with the chocolate frosting. I also liked the buttermilk frosting but didn’t like the vanilla cupcake that it comes with– was too dry and dense. If I get cupcakes again, I would get the buttermilk frosting on the chocolate cake instead, which they have. I had the cider donut, which was quite dry. I liked the peanut butter cookie, which was soft and yummy. Unfortunately, the chocolate brownie was inedible. It was very bitter with a medicinal taste.
Overall, some tasty food, quick and fast.

I was working late and wanted to get something healthy on my way home. I love that Terri is available to order through the Unilocal app. I had trouble deciding but went with the protein salad. This was very filling and delicious. I’m a fan of the spicy broccoli which gives the salad additional flavor that I didn’t really need the dressing. The dressing that came with the salad was still good. Honestly, I thought I was still going to be hungry from eating a salad for dinner, but this was perfect. I was really full afterwards. The only thing I didn’t like was the bean sprouts, so if I had to order this again, I’d ask for without it.
The best part, and maybe this was because it was so late into the night about 10pm, was that the food was ready to be handed to me as soon as I entered. Love. I’d try Terri again in the future.

Thank you Terri for being a healthy option when I get out late at work some nights. Terri has been such a blessing for me lately as a great option for a late night vegetarian dinner. It is one of the only places besides fast food, pizza and chinese food that are still open for takeout and open until 11pm. Kudos to this!
My favorite sandwich by far here is definitely the Chickpea Tuna Salad. Delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly similar in texture and taste to a regular tuna sandwich, without the fishy aftertaste. Makes me curious on how to make this on my own. I’ve had the juices and smoothies here too, a good compliment to your meal.
It doesn’t get 5 stars for me because I think that it is priced a bit too high. A juice and a sandwich not including any sides racks up to $ 19.25 which is not really a normal price for a go-​to takeout lunch/​dinner spot. If only it was a little bit more reasonable, it would be a place I’d go on a daily basis.

All of my experiences at Terri have been positive. I’m only knocking one star because it is over priced, 12.00 for a protein smoothie with creatine seems a bit steep. Other that that, the food is delicious. I’m a meat lover, so it’s nice to find a place that can compete with my everyday carnivore diet. The meatball sub is amazing and the desserts are delectable.

I work a few doors down from this place, and it really is just OK. I was recently in the mood for a smoothie and went with a friend, but the prices are just way too high for just a regular sized smoothie.
I reluctantly paid $ 8 for a smoothie, and was honestly even more disappointed when there was really nothing special about it. Don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with the drink itself — but it was a normal size, and didn’t taste any more spectacular than any $ 4 smoothie from a Jamba Juice or Starbucks. The prices here are just unnecessary.

I was in New York City for a week and I was so happy to find Terri. I ate a «Protein Bowl Salad» practically every day for lunch. It had kale, baby spinach, spicy broccoli, herbed baked tofu, quinoa, carrots, beets, bean sprouts, and a spicy carrot dressing. It was $ 9.88.
The two desserts I tasted were the «Apple Pie Tartlette», $ 4.37, and the «Chocolate chip cookie,» $ 2.76.
For breakfast I had the «Bacon Egg & Cheese» with hollandaise sauce. It was also very tasty. Still, the protein salad was my favorite, even for breakfast.
My favorite juices were, «Lady in Red” — beet, pineapple, carrot, orange and
«Energy» –apple, carrot, ginger. They are $ 7.81 each.
Overall, a wonderful place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great vegetarian food!

This place is just amazing. I have been waiting all my veggie/​vegan life for this place! It’s very quick and affordable. There is a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and salads to eat. They also have desserts. Everything is made so well and is so tasty. They have nailed the flavors of what vegan fast food should be. Don’t get me started on the Green Power smoothie. It is hands down the best smoothie I have ever had in my entire life. This is going to become a regular spot for me! Know that there is not a lot of seating when you go here but Madison Square Park is right across the street. Bring your food there!

I’m not quite sure what to think of this place. I can see how the menu is appetizing for vegetarians and vegans, but I was completely unimpressed by the fact that neither their salads nor juices are made to order! Don’t get me wrong — they are definitely fresh — likely made earlier that day. But when I go somewhere to order a salad, I prefer it’s made fresh and it’s not cold from being put in a fridge for hours. Also, they pack the little tiny salad containers very tightly so that you can’t shake the salad dressing evenly. The juice definitely did not have that fresh taste — it just felt like a Naked drink (more diluted though).
I also got the panini — which was awesome. I did really enjoy that, although I didn’t feel like I had to go out of my way for this particular panini.
I may try this place again if I am in the area. Also, if I worked around here, this would probably be a great spot for delivery or catered office lunches.

There are very few all vegan spots that I encounter. It has a nice little variety of things to eat. You can go here for breakfast or lunch. They have vegan snacks but it’s not cheap. Also have smoothies that I have not tried yet. I had their version of an egg and biscuit, obviously tofu scramble and it was good. It’s small and not a place for a large crowd to sit in. Just pick up and go.

A perfect little stop for lunch and simple dinners for vegetarians and people who are on a diet aka juicers.
I didn’t try the juices, but it looked good like any other healthy juice.
I had the portobello sandwich and it was interesting. I don’t recommend getting it if you’re on a date since the mushroom is a bit hard to bite into at times and the whole things might slide out of your sandwich so be aware. Otherwise, it was a sweet and savory concoction which tingled my tastebuds. Maybe it was because I was really hungry, but I devoured that sandwich. So yummy.
I don’t know how I feel about their fake meat so I stuck with just the vegetables, but I saw someone enjoying a chicken wrap and it looked sloppy. Again, not a date location, but more of a solo trip or with a friend whom you’re comfortable with.
I would definitely come back here. The food is made fresh with each order so you might end up waiting a bit longer than most lunch spots, but this is definitely worth trying. I love my vegetables so I’m biased, but I saw loads of guys coming in to eat the fake meat sandwiches. They WERE very built so they might have been also on a diet, but who knows. Healthy food that can be prepared deliciously is a plus for anyone!

Terri has maintained consistency for years. The prepared salads and juices in the refrigerator (which are similar to those of Bliss) are hearty, balanced, tasty, and overpriced.
The youthful staff are reliably scattered, tactless, and disinterested. Occasionally, they attempt courtesy, but it is undermined by habitual multitasking that results in lack of eye contact.
They surely aren’t paid well enough to care or afford the items in the store, but that is no excuse for their terrible service. I’ve experienced more genuine and gracious comportment in Jack’s 99¢ World. At least Terri is a few bucks cheaper than outrageously overpriced eateries Organic Avenue and Free Foods.
Like with most take-​out health food, I tend to bring it back to work or home and spice it up on my own, since the recipes can be bland. I prefer this to the candied salad bar at Whole Foods, where nearly all cold salad bar dishes are prepared with sherry vinaigrette, wines, and vinegar.

I sampled a few of their juices, and one had jalapeño (I think called spice of life or something)…hands down best juice I’ve ever had.
The people are super friendly and when I went at lunch time to order a smoothie I was in an out in ~5 minutes.
The almond smoothie was on point, SO good, really flavorful and super filling. Only downside is it was $ 9.50, for a smoothie…

Being vegan on the go can be really tricky. I have some issues with «vegan junk food» so I was kind of wary of this place at first. I do love the concept but try not to indulge in their food too often as I don’t want to be overly dependent on soy and seitan.
This is my go to place to cure my sweet-​tooth when I am being a bad vegan. My favorite is the banana bread and the chocolate peanut butter and jelly cupcake. Yes, I’m a bad vegan sometimes.
I was not a fan of their popular Butterfinger Smoothie. Wayyyyy too sweet for me. They have a good variety of smoothies, juices, and salads but they are more hidden away than the alluring treats.
As for their savory items… my favorite is the «Thai Chicken» Wrap. I also liked the breakfast burrito. I get mine with extra spinach.

Ordered Seamless pickup for their Buffalo Chicken Sandwich on Rosemary Foccacia Bread ($ 8.27) and Peanut Butter Cookie ($ 2.76) (didn’t see their 20% off first seamless order coupon anymore, but had a code anyway). Sandwich was one of the better faux meat products I’ve had, and substantial & messy, even for the price. Huge GF (you can tell — bit odd-​tasting) peanut butter cookie also satisfied. Quick service in a shockingly central location.
PS «This cruelty-​free lunch spot has you covered with a selection of non-​dairy shakes for when you’re feeling indulgent. The café use Temptation soy ice cream as a base, mixing it up with soy milk and other vegan mix-​ins. Their popular Butterfinger shake ($ 6.20) uses cookie dough soy ice cream, vegan chocolate syrup and your choice of milks – soy, almond or rice – to create a damn good impersonation of the real thing. For traditionalists, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla option are also available.»

Terri would be my go to for vegetarian food!
—THAI «chicken» wrap: so good and oh so filling even though it’s not real meat! The sauces just meld so well into the ingredients!
—Spinach salad: good but I was expecting more from that dressing! (Just didn’t coat the salad well) this salad is pre-​made in the fridge but since I wanted mine without red onions they made it fresh on the spot! Good to know you can customize
There’s a few counter seats here but you can take it to go
NOTE: they also have smoothies and baked goods!

Dude — Terri’s is legit vegan fare (although their sign says vegetarian, everything here is confirmed vegan and I believe organic.) I find this being more and more popular with vegan places, as the word vegan carries a bad stigma amongst omni’s and even vegetarians alike.
I had a vegan meatball and mozzarella panini with marinara and salad while the boo went crazy with the southern comfort food box (vegan pulled pork (seitan-​based), potato salad, cornbread and salad.
My panini was to die for, in fact I am almost literally dying right now from drowning courtesy of my salivary glands. Thanks, guys. *eyeroll*
Jenn’s potato salad was the shizznit. The real deal. The real McCoy, even I dare say! Mixed with the pulled bbq pork and I was in heaven. We also got their almond-​banana-​peanut butter smoothie which was legit, and probably way too filling for us given the plethora of cheap, delicious food in huge portions.
Terri’s is a quick-​bite kind of place, there is seating and counter space avail to you but don’t come here expecting a romantic atmosphere. Clean, yes. Delicious, yes. Compassionate, yes. Romantic, no.

Since my first visit to Terri I have had the Thanksgiving sandwich and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich.
They are both great. Easily push my opinion of Terri up to five stars.
My overall thoughts: Thanksgiving and Buffalo Chicken are awesome, meatball not as much.
I’m looking forward to enjoying them again soon!

Lorsqu’on vient régulièrement à New York, on se doit d’avoir un petit peu de discipline culinaire, au moins une fois par jour. Mais discipline né veut pas dire manger ou boire quelque chose de fade.
La solution «detox» est de me réfugier dans des bars à jus qui né proposent que des produits de top qualité et la tendance qualité est le «Cold-​Pressed Juice»: il faut 3 kg de fruits et légumes pressés pour produire un demi litre de jus. Et il faut des machines à même de produire 7 tonnes de pression pour extraire le jus sans produire de chaleur (qui tue les vitamines comme dans une centrifugeuse)
Alors le jus coûte une fortune (près de $ 10 les 25 cl) mais le goût est exceptionnel et l’effet detox garanti.
J’ai essayé le Health Insurance à base de: choux frisé, épinards, salade romaine, persil, concombre, pomme verte, céleri. Ce à quoi j’ajoute mon shot de gingembre ultra concentré bien sûr!
Les smoothies sont aussi excellents. J’ai testé le Terri Berri à base de fraises, framboises, myrtilles, mangue, banane, agave, lait de soja.
Une bonne adresse pour prendre un jus ou un smoothie à la volée et garder la ligne !
