The 777 Theater

The show itself is absolutely hysterical. There is no doubt about that. I literally cried laughing throughout the whole thing. So the show is definitely worth seeing for a fun night out but there are a few things to note about this venue/​production.
First, you’ve got to climb the stairs to the second floor. The elevator is so slow and there are too many people for the elevator to serve any kind of useful purpose. So beware and stretch those quads before you head into this theater.
Secondly, the website for the show talks about a «bar» that is open an hour before the show begins so that you can go, relax and have a few drinks before the show. That’s a partial lie. This «bar» is a table with a bare minimum selection of libations that are less than desirable served my a bitchy male bartender that clearly has zero desire to be there. Total turn off. Not to mention this «bar» is in a 4×4 area where all of these people barely fit.
Third, this theater is small and dirty. I saw the 9:30pm show and it was a hot mess from the 7pm show. It’s a small production so I wasn’t expecting some kind of amazing gala but I also wasn’t expecting to have my shoes glued to the floor by an unknown foreign substance. Ew.
Again, the show was hilarious. This review is aimed at the theater and their bitchy barmaid. Get it together 777 Theater.

Talk about a no-​frills theater.
On the night we arrived here to see Sex tips For Straight Woman From A Gay Man there was no elevator working so we had to climb up like four flights of stairs. Really not cool if you have bad knees, health problems, or some such ailment that makes this type of walk painful. Not cool at all.
This theater is small, intimate, and kind of hidden along the shops on 8^th Ave. By intimate I mean super small which does work for shows such as this. The seating was ok and the theater itself is clean enough, but the ladies in our group said the bathrooms were a nasty abomination, so hold it in if you can as the show is only a little over an hour long.
There is a small bar in here too to get your drink on. Takes cash or credit card.
Also, why are people here reviewing the show? This listing is for the actual theater itself. Some people really need to learn how to read. As the commercial says — «That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.»

Intimate theater, no frills, but very fun, lots of audience participation and scandalous fun. The actors are extremely talented and improv amazingly. My friend and I had a blast and will come back with more friends soon.

Really small theatre and production (3 cast member). While mildly entertaining — feel bad for the fellows that accompany their gf/​wife to the show. It seem the highlight was for one of the character stripping down to his underwear. Not sure how it really fit into the show.

Came here to see Sex Tips For Straight Women from a Gay Man. The theater is as expected for a «off Broadway» show. It’s small, I would say fits around 100 or so. But the seats are comfortable. Came with a few friends and we all had a great time. The show was hilarious, well maybe because we sat in the front row and a few of my friends were chosen to participate. I’ll leave the details out. I would say the show was catered more towards women or gay men (like duh). I’m neither but still had a good time. Enjoy the show.

Where do I begin… the theater is located on the «2^nd floor.» My friends and I chose to take the stairs, it was more like 6 long flights of stairs. The theater is dated, seats uncomfortable. The performance could have been much better, but it was quite tragic. Not a funny performance. It was so disappointing. The show was maybe an hour long & for the cost, not worth it at all. Save your money for a real broadway show.

All the talents in this play are extremely talented, super attractive and personable. Usually after any show, I like to discuss the actual story with my friends but I found myself a super-​fan of the cast. I immediately wanted to read about their bio and what other shows they’ve done.
The main character Dan is very lovable and his open mind discussion (which includes the audience) sometimes makes me blush. BTW, the front of the theater (which I think they call the «wet zone») has several chances to be on-​stage. I don’t want to give too much of the story away but it isn’t for the closed-​minded. I wasn’t in-​love with the story, it was … but I loved seeing the cast member performing.

I’m 99% positive that I’m not the show’s target demographic, but I had a great time laughing out out.
The theatre is really intimate (seats about 50?) and there’s no bad seat.
The timing was phenomenal, the performances were great. One of the stars went to the same college as I did! GO Hoosiers!
The one thing I didn’t like, was, being a gender studies major, I really hated the stereotyping of gay men, forced love stories, and pseudo-​feminism.
Other than the motifs, I really loved the show! It was about 1 hour long.
There were complementary drinks if you checked in on Facebook or 4square.

Small and intimate. Every seat has a good view of the stage. My husband and I had such a wonderful time. We laughed out loud the whole show. A must go for a group of girlfriends.

Nice place to go with a couple of friends on a girls night out)) had a great time– laughed a lot, as some of the jokes and scenes were really funny) the only bad thing– it is too short– it runs only one hour … But overall — I liked it) «sex tips from a gay man for a straight woman «were even useful)))

Small theatre on the 2 floor but the stairway makes it feel like 10 flights. Take the elevator.
I came to see «Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man» and was somewhat taken back and surprised to have been chosen to simulate a sex scene. (I hope Mom wasn’t watching me from heaven)
The show was cute and fun but I was really expecting some good sex tips… lol

This is a nice off-​Broadway theater. I came here to see a show with one of my good friends. I decided that taking the stairs wouldn’t be bad because it’s on the second floor, HA, the second floor is nearly 4 flights up. The funny signs on each level make the walk up slightly entertaining.
The theater is cozy, the box office is cash only, and the bar accepts credit cards. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed ourselves. It was a good show and the free drink was great as well.
