The Ailey School

Not very responsive when asking about classes and very snooty. Mr. Ailey would not have liked how things are being run. You’d expect better service when dealign with such a prestigious place, but no!

This place is so fun and I look forward to coming back here to shake my tail feathers. I’ve only taken 2 classes but the instructors were great, the dance moves so easy even I can do it and the energy of the class was nice too. I bought the 10 class card and forsee myself running through it in like, a month. If you like dance and haven’t tried this place you should come and try it already!

Very disappointed… Would not recommend unless they revamp their customer service policy. The customer service is actually NON-​EXISTENT. They won’t even try to help you. I used to recommend this place for their high level of professionalism and commitment to making dance accessible to everyone. Unfortunately it’s completely CHANGED.
This is the SECOND time, they refused to help me. I stopped going 6 years ago because they wouldn’t extend the remaining 8 classes I had on my 20-​class card while I was away at school ($ 136 GONE). I never went back but this year I wanted to give them a second try…
I downloaded their app and reserved 3 classes in advance to hold my spot but was unable to attend. Nowhere in the app was it made clear that the reservation was a used class and not just a «hold until sign-​in». So they charged me for $ 50 worth of classes without my knowledge.
I called as soon as I realized what happened to see if they could help at least credit the classes back to me just once and they plainly told me there was «nothing they could do». It’s not even like I was asking for a refund I was just asking for a credit for my classes!

I love the ballet extensions classes with Kat Wildish, a very wild cat indeed. An adult class, sometimes x-​rated. She kicks butts an gets them in shape. Great for the alignment and for real ballet dancing. The class is cheap (10 classes for $ 140) for great entertainment from a first class performer
