I went to see Dr. Gotlin for a back issue. He referred me to one the PT’s in his office. He also suggested I see him for «manual manipulation treatments». He recommended I see him twice a week for several weeks for these manual manipulation treatments. I went twice. They consisted of me seeing him for 7 minutes (I timed it). He had me touch my toes, etc. Then he stretched me for a couple minutes. I stopped after two sessions because of how disinterested Dr. Gotlin seemed during these sessions and how short the sessions were. Then I receive a bill for each session for $ 250 for «Office Visit» and $ 175 for «OMT, ½ Body Regions». I don’t mind the $ 175, but $ 250 for office visit. This is a clear rip off to me and a huge profit center for Gotlin. Very very little value in these visits. Nada. Zip. No thank you. Please stop stealing my money. When I complained, I got the usual run around. I recommend you don’t use Dr. Gotlin. I left after a month or two of PT and these couple manipulations. Back was not better. I did a bunch of research and found a good chiropractor. My back is all better after 3 or 4 sessions with chiro. For the record, the PT I was recommended to at Center for Health and Healing was a temp, so she could not be used to bill to insurance. They bill under a different name. Does that make sense? Maybe it does, but I prefer to have a well established PT working on my back. Also for the record, I had Dr. Ehrlich as a primary physician at Center for Health and Healing. He was very good. Interested in my health, not in a rush. He provided sound advice and help me decide not to get a particular minor procedure done. Hope this helps.

This office is an absolute mess. Do not bother going there!
As a new patient, I scheduled my annual physical exam to see Dr. Soyona Rafatjah, a week an advance.
They didn’t call me to conform my appointment and on the day of the appointment I called the office to confirm. They told me that I am not scheduled to see Dr. Soyona Rafatjah, because she on vacation and not coming back for another two weeks!
The receptionist was extremely rude and wasn’t able to either explain me why this mistake was made or assists me any further. She didn’t even apologize.
I left a message for the office manager to see if she can resolve this issue, but she never got back to me.
Never again I am wasting my time on this office.

I’ve been to many doctors and have never felt compelled to write a review before. I saw one of the dermatologists. After telling her my grandmother had melanoma and I had a cancerous spot removed myself years before, she spent less than (literally) 2 minutes examining me. After feeling something wasn’t right — I went to another doctor who took off a cancerous mole. The same day, I get a call from a collection agency on behalf of this place. I never received any bill in the mail, a phone call, nothing! Absolutely useless medical facility.

While everyone here was absolutely lovely, to say that they are integrative is a serious stretch. I asked the gynecologist for holistic treatment thoughts for ovarian cysts, and she recommended birth control pills… pretty far from integrative/​holistic! They didnt keep me waiting, and the staff was fine (but not great). Waiting room is lovely with lots of sunlight and plants. The provider was very sweet, and had I signed up for a regular allopathic visit I would have been Thrilled — given that I specifically asked for integrative care and told the clinician that that was the only reason I was there… very disappointing.

My review of Dr. Sondhi are similar to the reviews posted below. She is condescending and judgmental. I started the interview by explaining my situation and she kept cutting me off and telling me to «stop being nervous.» I wasn’t nervous; I was informing my new doctor of my situation. She didn’t care the slightest bit about anything I had to say.
I just needed a refill of my birth control; a method I have loved and used for years. She tried to push other forms of birth control on me. I understand explaining other forms of contraception if a patient comes to the office stating she is considering switching, but I made myself very clear that that was not at all what I wanted to do. She then literally said, «We can do the right thing, or I can refill your prescription.»
WHAT THE HELL.
I am a public health official specializing in reproductive health. I’m currently evaluating a study on patient-​centered care surrounding certain birth controls. She failed my test with flying colors. She didn’t give a rat’s ass about me; she only wanted to push a prescription to get a commission. Do not go to Dr. Sondhi.

My copay should have been 30 dollars but instead i got a bill for nearly 300 dollars. Dont go here

TL;DR — Mean doctors, rude office staff, fraudulent billing
I stopped seeing Dr. Hartzog because her office staff does not give her messages and she made some comments about my weight. I don’t need my doctor to fat-​shame me.
I switched to Dr. Sondhi, which was a big mistake. Her staff did not tell me I needed to bring lab results and a referral, so then she refused to do the procedure after I’d waited an hour. I made the mistake of going back a second time, with the papers. She told me multiple times that the procedure was stupid and the doctors at NYU were wrong. What doctor shit talks other doctors to their patients? She emphasized how it was going to be incredibly painful and I shouldn’t do it. She made me cry before the procedure started, which is hardly the bedside manner you want or what I’d experienced with the other doctors. I found a new doctor at a different practice after that.
A year later I got a call from a collection agency. I had to talk to two different people to find out why, since the first woman I spoke to insisted I had a zero balance. Then they claimed I’d never given them my insurance information and that I owed nearly a thousand dollars. It took months before they would send me any sort of a bill, although the collections agency kept calling.
After months of hassles and dealing with their incredibly rude office staff, I paid the bill to get them to stop harassing me.
I now have paperwork from my insurance company demonstrating that they paid all of my claims back in 2013 and I should have only had to pay $ 31.59.
I’m still trying to get them to reimburse what they incorrectly sent me to collections for. I’m not holding my breath.
I feel like such an idiot to have gone to a doctor who shamed me, said nasty things about my other doctors, and then scammed me out of hundreds of dollars. This is not a legitimate medical office.

After 2 years, I am no longer willing to see the OBGYN Dr Sondhi. I won’t go into specifics but Dr Sondhi has been quick to prescribe unnecessary invasive treatment and medication before running tests, or even hearing me out first. She prematurely diagnosed me and was wrong after tests came back. She often talks down to me like I’m stupid and like I can’t be trusted to understand basic medical information or make rational decisions about my health. She gets exasperated when I ask questions or disagree. That’s why after every visit I had to do my own research and consult with the OBGYNs in my family for their opinions, often to find that she wasn’t telling me everything I needed to know. She once lectured me for several minutes for taking notes about what she was saying — she said young people like me are losing all our brain cells and asked why can’t I just listen to her and remember? I felt that was ageist and inappropriate since we were talking about my health and I wanted to remember what she was saying. It’s hard enough for me as a young black woman to feel comfortable in a dr’s office, but when that doctor is patronizing, it’s even worse. She’s hard to talk to and every conversation feels like a battle to get her to listen or explain what’s happening or why she’s recommending certain treatments. As a result, I have never felt comfortable telling her I’m queer or polyamorous, (she assumes and talks to me like I’m straight) and that means I’m just not getting the care I deserve.
Also, in an unrelated and bizarre oversight, I just found out that last year she forgot to order tests for chlamydia and siphilis when I asked for full STI screening. All I received in the mail was an unsigned letter with one sentence «your tests are normal» and no detail about what exactly I was (or in this case WASN’T) tested for. Apparently, at continuum, the STIs they test you for change randomly and you need to ask for each STI test you want specifically. What kind of nonsense is that? Plus, how many more patients are walking around with «normal» letters not knowing they weren’t fully screened?
I find the OBGYN care at continuum medically sloppy, patronizing, and unnecessarily aggressive in its approach. That’s a potentially dangerous combination. Unfortunately, I have more examples of Dr. Sondhi’s poor judgment and lacking care that aren’t appropriate for Unilocal.I will submit them to Continuum, since I like their other doctors and believe they can do better.

My previous doctor kept increasing the doses of steroids I was taking for asthma (hello, weight gain) and I was getting worse and worse. I started coming to Continuum to explore complementary treatment options. Overall, my experience here has been positive, and I am gradually doing better. Now I’m using a combination of dietary changes, supplements, sublingual drops, and conventional meds.
The front desk staff are very busy but generally friendly. The waiting room is calming, with books about alternative medicine and comfy chairs, designed by a feng shui practitioner.
Dr. Haddon is fantastic for treating allergies, very calming, thoughtful, and attentive. Dr. Hops is a good GP, if a little intense, and even has limited Saturday hours. Dr. Hartzog is a friendly gynecologist. And the meditation class with Lucia McBee is excellent.
I wish they had a location in Brooklyn!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Gotlin for about 2 years and must say that I wish every doctor would take notes!!! Dr. Gotlin is extremely professional and personable. His office is neat and clean and the staff is warm and friendly. If you have a 9 am appt, you will be seen normally within 10 minutes of that time. I’ve never felt rushed, I’ve always felt and believed I’ve gotten the best care possible. On all levels! Even his referrals are on point!
Dr. Gotlin has been a doctor for 30 years and a teaching physican for 25 years — which I believe is helping to produce more amazing doctors like himself.

I love my Dr, Dr Hopps, this is NOT about her. This is about the nurse practitioner, Rachel. My advice is, don’t go see her! If you have an emergency try as best you can to get someone else. I had an emergency and this was the only appt I could get that fit my schedule this week. I specifically made it for right after lunch because I knew timing was tight and I’d be the first she’d see. All she needed to do was come back from her lunch break on time, right?
She was late.
No greeting, no apology, cold «reception».
I was stressed by all of this but said as nicely as I could that I was a little pressed for time now and needed to leave on time. Wow! I did not expect her to be as rude and cold as she was in return! She flicked her hands at me (in a brush off manner) and told me coldly «I have other patients too». Her face was so hard, so angry, I felt such rage and dismissal from her, there was no way I was going to let her examine me.
I’ve never done this before (and I’m a pretty hardy person), but I was so overwhelmed with angry energy coming from her, i turned around and walked out.
(I made another appt w someone else for an hour later which really screwed up my own clients I had to get to, which is what I was trying to avoid, but really felt I had no choice).
I had to listen to my gut and my gut said «She’s not safe».
Hope this helps someone else make a decision that’s right for them.
Everyone else I’ve seen at the center has been great. My doctor, DR Hopps, is fabulous, and the hematologist guy is awesome (always friendly and positive), my Gyn, Dr Herzog, is great, and I ended up seeing Dr Chaudhry today and she was lovely and attentive. I’ve also seen dermatologist there who was great.
Just beware of Nurse Practitioner, Rachel, if attitude, energy, bedside manner, warmth, are at all important to you.

This review is long overdue and wraps up my treatment from 2010 – 2012. After Dr. Chaudhary saved me via my mono diagnosis. The rest of the care from her incredibly underwhelming. I’ve since been diagnosed with chronic active Epstein bar, CFS, hypothyroidism, and low immune function. Post my mono diagnosis when I kept repeating that I still wasn’t feeling better she just said it’s going to take time. No ordered tests, no advice, no guidance. Just «exercise and wait it out» — well it’s been 5 years and I’m STILL waiting. Thankfully I found a better doctor elsewhere who wanted to continue this journey with me instead of leaving me wondering why I couldn’t function.

Do NOT see Dr. Sondhi for gynecology! I went because I was concerned about something and she immediately jumped to really horrible conclusions. She had me take a bunch of blood tests (didn’t tell me the bill would be $ 700, surprise!), but then before the results even came back, she gave me a prescription because she was really sure I had something debilitating. I asked her multiple times if it could be anything else and she just shook her head and patted my back.
Also didn’t warn me the prescription was $ 300 or told me what it was really for, just that it would make me «feel better,» so I called the office to see if there was an alternative and got a crazy runaround for 3 days until she finally called me and told me I wouldn’t need the prescription after all, because everything came back negative. Problem not solved.
I recently went to see a dermatologist and mentioned the issue offhand. Turns out it was just eczema. Thanks for costing me almost $ 1,000 (just to have an appointment with her ended up costing me $ 150), scaring the crap out of me, and jumping to worse case scenarios without actually doing your job and diagnosing me. I will never again work with these doctors and I would definitely advise you to stay away too.

Dr. Hops is great! Even when she was out I was able to see Dr Chaudhary. they are both really good. I take my two daughters to the center, never had an issue booking an appointment.
I emailed the doctor with a concern an got I call with in an hour. The waiting time is not more than 10min. and the space is very comfortable not overcrowded.
When the doctor is busy you can speak to the nurse.

I havent had a moment to switch Drs since Ive been well. Just wanted to update that the billing issues continue. I had a follow up appt a few months ago to receive an updated prescription– since what I was given was not right. The Dr printed out a new RX — no check up, total of 5 minutes and I just received a copay bill for that visit. I now have to spend my time checking what they charged my insurance — who sent me additional charges from here for over $ 400.
Seriously, I just had a cold. The billing is scammy, which is a waste. Now Ill be switching my 2 Drs for sure!

I am officially breaking up with you, continuum.
At first, the aspect of having all my Dr’s in one office was great. But, seriously, it comes down to the office staff that makes me insane. I can’t anymore, I can’t.
The front desk is so crazed that they are dismissive — i almost don’t blame them. there’s too much going on.
My GP left the practice last year, and i was assigned another. She was perfectly nice, but went on maternity leave. However, she left a flag on my account that she didn’t want a maintenance prescription (very innocuous, non narcotic etc) refilled until i saw her. I was forced to come in or be faced with no prescription.
This week I went for an appointment. Showed up ½ hour early — 15 minutes after the appointment was supposed to start, a woman wanders around the waiting room. She asks ’ who are you here to see?’. I inform her. Her response ‘oh, i don’t think she’s here yet’.
I go to the front desk. They seem surprised at all of this. But unresponsive. They said they’d try and get me back with someone else. Waiting, waiting. I go back up to the front desk. They look confused. Then they state, ‘oh, that person is still with a patient’.
Look, everyone’s time is valuable. And I’m patient. But it’s overall bad customer service when you’re around for over an hour (not including being early) for an appointment you don’t really need.
I’m done.

I come here to see Emily (Sarah) Hartzog. She’s great, friendly and makes you feel at ease. She also communicates with me via email (I honestly think more doctors should use that as a sort of communication especially since I’m a hearing impaired person and I may not understand all the information over the phone).
Waiting space is large and comfortable. I’ve visited the doctor twice and have no waited for more than 10 minutes.
Staff are okay when I enter the office. Staff on the phone are a bit difficult. It seems like the place is extremely busy and getting an appointment is always the hardest part! I hope they would use zodoc or something. Perhaps that would help reduce their call volumes.

This center is associated with Beth Israel and is one of the most impressive doctor offices I’ve ever been to. The layout and design is beautiful and the service I got was friendly, prompt, and efficient. I went to see dermatologist Natalie Moulton-​Levy and she was absolutely wonderful. I hope to never have to see her again but for some reason I’d be sad not to.
(on a side note if anyone sees her and can tell me what celebrity she sounds like, I’ll be forever grateful, it’s was totally on the tip of my tongue the entire time)
UPDATE: My fiancé has since gone here for the same doctor for a couple issues and the doctor apparently wasn’t at all helpful or as pleasant as she was with me. I took off one star for this as I didn’t experience it first hand but it’s just something worth noting that my first experience may not be typical.

Ugh, this is all about the customer service or lack thereof. Firstly good luck trying to get a hold of your doctor via the front desk. I called the desk several times over several days, and was told that I could leave a message and the doctor would get back to me. Well she never did and never got the message.
I called one morning, around 8:40 and someone at the front desk answered, but said I should leave a message with the message service. I hung up and called back, letting the message service know that the front desk person told me to call back and leave a message. The service said that no one was in the office until 9… making it seem like I made everything up. Why would I do that??? I ended up calling back the front desk, got the rude chick (everyone knows who she is) who told me I could come back in and see the nurse, which I didn’t want to, to do what? Pay another copay???
I was finally told to speak with the nurse who would call the doctor.
That’s waaay too much back and forth for just a few questions about my prescription. It’s such a turn off because the doctors there are so friendly, but the desk staff is ridiculous and sometimes unprofessional.
Also, they are open on Saturdays for some things, but their website doesn’t say that and if you google the Center it will tell you it’s closed on Saturday. The phone number that is provided will also go to a message service if something at all. All of these things seem to be easy to fix, but I guess not. I’m pretty sure I won’t be back here, even though I’ve been a patient for years.

I’ve been going here for about a year and I really enjoy it. I’ve found that everyone I see is very friendly and knowledgeable. My usual doc is Dr. Roberta Lee, who I found to be very helpful and willing to address all of my questions. I saw Rachel once and at first I thought she was very stern but she shortly opened up and was very helpful, making many suggestions for my sinus problems. I also saw Dr. Lisa Bartoli for a shoulder injury and she gave me exceedingly helpful and very practical advice (like repositioning my shoulder during everyday activities like chopping vegetables) in order to avoid hurting it again.
There seem to be a lot of comments about the long wait to see the doctors. Granted, I don’t particularly care to wait 30 – 45 minutes to see the doctor when I have an appointment, but I’ve found this to be the case at pretty much every office I’ve ever visited so it is not a problem specific to Continuum. Same goes for having to wait a long time to get an appointment. They have tons of patients so yes, it can take a while to get an appointment, but I’ve found that to be the case at many doctor’s offices. I do think they would benefit from hiring additional staff to accommodate their many patients.
