Ich liebe Gebäck, insbesondere auch Zimtschnecken, daher wollte ich unbedingt herkommen. Das Cinammon Snail befindet sich direkt im Pennies an der Penn Station. Ich habe mir also eine Zimtschnecke und ein Hibiskus Gingerale bestellt. Und bekommen habe ich einen Zimtschneckenmutanten. Das war ein ganzer Kuchen– quasi. Wirklich unheimlich groß. Und wirklich unheimlich lecker, wenn auch sehr fett. Ich hatte mir das Teilchen aufwärmen lassen, habe es aber nicht ganz geschafft. Den Rest habe ich später am Tag kalt gegegssen. Immer noch lecker. Schade fand ich nur, dass es relativ spät öffnet…

I was super exited to hear that Cinnamon Snail opened up a location at Pennsy! Post-​work hours, it’s easy seating and a cool spot to relax in an otherwise crowded part of town.
…but I was pretty disappointed in the food. I had the Korean BBQ Seitan – which sounded awesome, but tasted pretty weird. The greens were very bitter, and the sauce was spicy in a way that’s painful. And while the vegan meat was decent in taste, something about the texture was off. I washed it down with one of their donuts, which people had raved about. But the coconut one I had tasted like sand, and it might be one of the driest pastries I’ve ever had. Maybe it had been sitting out too long?
However, the staff there is so nice! Like, stop-​you-​in-​your-​tracks nice. I went from being irritated at my commute to joyful in about 30 seconds after talking to the cashier.
Also, there’s an $ 8-​minimum on credit cards, just an FYI if you’re just grabbing something sweet.

Best vegan burger I’ve ever had, get the beast mode burger… amazing combo of flavors and hands down THE best vegan burger combo! Thank you! Vegan donuts are nice and not heavy like other vegan versions. Open more places like this please! I’m in!

I was very sad to hear that the legendary Cinnamon Snail food truck had grounded but fate intervened and sprouted up a brick and mortar location at The Pennsy just in time for my trip to the Big Apple.
Ordered the Beast Mode Burger because ‘merica. An Ancho chili seitan burger grilled in maple boubon bbq sauce with jalapeño mac n cheese, arugula, smoked chili coconut bacon, and chipotle mayo on a grilled pretzel bun. The most decadent, over the top plant based burger in existence and a true culinary treat.
Come here. Be amazed. Reduce your risk of coronary heart disease.

Ugh, where do I begin. I was a big fan of their old truck and when I found out they were opening up next to my work I was really excited. I went twice now and I don’t know, it’s just not good. It’s nowhere near as good as I remember and I wonder if I had just lower standards then or if it was actually different or what. Basically, this new incarnation of the cinnamon snail has caused me to question my sense of reality.
The first time I ordered the kimchi seitan open sandwich. The second time the beast deluxe burger. Both were not good. Both had some sort of inedible material in the food. The kimchi seitan has two pieces of brown paper in it. The beast deluxe burger had what appeared to be uncooked macaroni so at least that one was food but it was too hard to be edible.
I also got donuts each time and, first, they looked much less appealing than the donuts shown in the samples. Second, and more importantly, they were just bland.
I was planning on eating here every day for lunch but alas, some things are not meant to be.

Great variety of donuts. They have a rotating menu of donuts/​pastries. We picked a coconut and caramel flavored in addition to a belgian chocolate flavored donut. Needless to say that we loved it.
One point to note though, is that they are still classified as a food truck on Unilocal.However, that is not true anymore. They are located inside the food court in the Pensy building. Make sure to check this place out the next time you are in the area!

I have visited the new location at the Pennsy twice now and both times I was disappointed. The things that once tasted wonderful, now taste off. I ordered my favorite Korean barbecue seitan and the food was cold, clearly not cooked long enough. The beast mode burger just tasted like a slob of ingredients, overpowered by the chewy pretzel bun. I’m so sad to say these things but I doubt I’ll go out of my way again for this version of the snail :/

This is for the location in Pennsys on 33^rd street, I have always heard about TCS and wanted to try but was never able to get to the truck on my lunch hour, so I was really pleased to hear that they were across the street!
I decided to get a burger, there are only 2, okay. So first thing that bothered me was when the man in front of me ordered an item (made from seitan) and then opted for the gluten free bun, the cashier told him the seitan had gluten — which she obviously should have — but the way her and the cashier who was helping me snickered together at the fact that he did not realize that seitan is gluten, it bothered me. A lot. Like not everyone knows everything about veganism or food or this or that — to promote healthy eating I would think first thing would be to educate people or even just be NICE about what you may know over someone else. Shame on them… THEN (and less off putting) I went to order one of the two items on the board and just couldn’t pronounce it, the same delightful cashier who was better than the guy in front of me had an attitude and then proceeded to note how she doesnt know which burger is on the board, okay its one of TWO… really? Whatever. So I move on, pay my $ 11 for a teeny bag of burger in abt 2.5 minutes (can’t complain abt service time) and leave Pennsys, only to stop elsewhere to get a side of something. I was hungry. Finally get back to my office to find that the burger is a total mess ~ it had a sirachi mayo on it ~ this crap was everywhere, like the use a whole napkin after every bite type mess.
Lastly, and here’s the most important thing probably… the taste was great. It really was some of the best vegan food ive eaten (take out), I was almost pissed at how much i liked it.
So I say to you ~ maybe this was a one time thing that these two cashiers were just acting up and it rubbed me the wrong way, possibly — post-​lunch rush and no one wanted to DO shit… okay. I’d go back to try more items there because taste is taste.

Had it at pensy eats and menu was limited. Food was good. but not lived up to the hype.

I was pleased to see the Cinnamon Snail is now brick & mortar. Unfortunately, it did disappoint. This summer I stood in a very long line to try the Korean bbq seitan and a lemon meyer twist. They were delicious and an affinity for kimchi was created. Last night I ordered the Korean bbq seitan, the recipe seemed altered. The texture of the seitan was different, but even better. Sadly, my open faced wrap was stuffed with kale and I did not taste or see a hint of kimchi in it. There were no lemon twist, so I chose other donuts. All 5 of my donuts were hard and stale tasting by this morning. Having said that, I’ll still go back the next time I’m near Penn Station because… well where else can I find vegan food near Penn Station?
I will now be ordering the beast mode burger. That is overpriced like all of their savory items, but unique and for-​filling nonetheless.

Cinnamon Snail — I was going to give you 3 stars, but giving you an extra one for opening up a location close to my work! Was so excited to have you back in NYC, but am SO disappointed in your current menu. Please please consider adding more options — taking into account that not everyone enjoys spicy food or eats gluten. I know you can spend $ 3 more to put the sandwich on salad or rice, but many options or seitan and nearly all too spicy for me to eat. Where are the old favorites I loved? I will keep coming by hopeful you will add to the menu!

I was told by a friend to check this place out on my trip to New York City and man, I can see why they told me to do so. The staff here is super friendly and they’re excited to tell you about all of the food options the have. The do offer things like sandwiches, which I didn’t try, in addition to 30 different pastries that they bake daily. So that means every day it will be different. You must frequent this place to try everything they have.
The prices aren’t too bad either, all of the pastries they had were at $ 3 or less and they did offer some gluten-​free options which was pretty cool as well. Now, I went a bit crazy and I ordered a bunch of sweets but the one I can say was my absolute fave and would totally buy a plane ticket to go back and eat again was the Maple Bacon Doughnut. HOLY SWEETNESS! That doughnut was amazing! I was so sad when I ate it all. I’ve never enjoyed a doughnut so much.
Please, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You will not be sorry but you will be sorry if you don’t.

This place is the belle of the ball! It always has the longest line in the Pennsy (and still has a line when no other store does). I tried the beastmode burger deluxe and it was a crazy explosion of flavors. The pretzel bun faded behind the strong flavor of the bbq sauce smothering the seitan burger. There was also some mac and cheese, toasted coconut, and arugula thrown in there just to add to the mix. It was a lot of flavors at once. The namesake cinnamon snail did not disappoint. It pretty much tasted like a regular, non-​vegan cinnamon roll. I’ll be back to try some other samiches for sure.

I wanted to love this place s badly after reading so many good reviews. Maybe it was better when it was just a food truck? I went to the location in the new Pennsy and it was pretty uninteresting. I got the Beast Mode Burger, which was shockingly both bland and sweet. The doughnut I got was good enough to bump up the review to three stars (the burger was that bland.)

The Cinnamon Snail is back! They’re now parked in The Pennsy, a food court that just opened this past Monday – January 11 – at 33^rd street and 7^th avenue in Penn Plaza.
They’re serving the same favorites that have earned them Vendy awards in the past, and thankfully they have a larger space than when they’re limited to the inside of a van. And the hours are better: they start earlier and close later. (11 AM to 11 PM – every day except Sunday? That’s like a dream come true!)
I had been homesick for their sandwiches, soups, and of course their donuts. (The first thing I got when I went the other day was their BeastMode™ burger; it didn’t disappoint.) Now that they’re back, I have to bring another [award-​winning] crème brûlée donut to my friend Raquel, who raved about it for months after I brought her one.
And it’s all vegan, folks! Vegan is the future – I promise.

I arrived in NJ in December and was excited at the prospect of paying The Cinnamon Snail a visit (NYC isn’t too far). I had heard of the legend of the Gochujang burger and the doughnuts, and couldn’t wait to dig into them. I was saddened to know that they had closed for the season.
CS reopened this week and I immediately decided to visit them and order the famed dishes. The three of us, one of whom was a regular, ordered the Gochujang burger, the lemongrass seitan sandwich and another open-​faced sandwich. I honestly did not enjoy any of the three. Maybe God hasn’t endowed me with the ability to appreciate strong flavors, but I really began wondering what the hype was about. The regular also told me that the size of the burger had reduced and the famous bun was missing. Well, certainly not worth spending 10 bucks on.
We also got a raspberry cheesecake doughnut. Nothing spectacular — some sweet raspberries in the centre and a generous garnish of what felt like sweetened dessicated coconut. I was heartbroken, more heartbroken than when I came to know The Cinnamon Snail had closed for the year. I think they have become more business-​oriented now and the taste and portion size have taken a hit. I overheard other customers complaining about the same. I hope other vegan restaurants like Veggie Heaven don’t take the same route in the future.

I was grabbing lunch with a vegetarian friend and since the Cinnamon Snail has been on my list for a while, we decided to go here. Unfortunately, after trekking from 55^th and Madison to 55^th and Broadway, the truck was nowhere to be found. A quick perusal of their twitter site revealed a last minute location change to 21^st and 5^th Ave. Definitely check the twitter before you go because locations do change.
Once we finally got there, I ordered the Korean BBQ seitan wrapped in crispy pancake. It was ok, but a little too sour and spicy for my liking. The portions are huge though, so you can definitely share it if you’re both looking for a light lunch. My friend got the Thai tempeh sandwich — I had a little taste and thought the flavor profile was much better than the Korean BBQ pancake. We shared the gluten free Samoa donut and it might be the best donut I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten a lot of donuts in life (worked at Dunkin’ in high school & consumed 100’s of NYC craft donuts over the past decade).

It is with a heavy heart that I drop off a star from my much and long loved CinnySnail.
I couldn’t wait to get to the downtown fair today when I heard the elusive truck would be there and I would be able to once again have some of my all time favorite vegan food.
Things have changed.
Gone were the sweet, smiling crew of yesteryear… ok, people move on, but the food would be outrageous and that’s all that mattered right?!
Wrong.
They had my all time fave sandwich Lemongrass Seitan… except now it was on a slightly smaller bread (no biggie) and oh so oily/​greasy.
What?
Taste was there sortof but no.
Then there was the lentil curry puff… one of my faves too… but now… dry and smaller than before as well. Um, ok.
For dessert a cinnamon snail donut of course.
Only, this wasn’t the moist enormous vegan goodness that I would walk several miles for in days gone by, oh no, this was a dry TINY BITESIZE baby pastry that was in no way worth what it cost.
Guys, what happened?
I know everyone has a bad day but I can’t fully express my disappointment at what I saw and purchased today. Honestly, I’m saddened. These guys were game changers!
But not today.
*only 1 star dropped incase it was an anomaly… I’ll catch them again…

What a surprise it was to eat the masterful creation of one of my favorite vegan chefs and personal hero, Adam from the Cinnamon Snail, at Vegfest in Bethlehem, PA. I’ve been following him and his beautiful family since their early beginnings and my heart fills with joy seeing where their journey has taken them; spreading their love for conscious food and showing others what it means to eat with respect for all.
From Red Bank, NJ to New York City, this was the first time I didn’t have to wait almost an hour to get my hands on their delicious food truck concoctions and artisanal donuts that make even the most cynical fall in love with plantbased food. Even then, that first bite was always worth it. My only suggestion is to try everything on the menu! Your soul will thank you later.

I visited the Cinnamon Snail at the final week of their successful journey through the food truck scene. Coined as perhaps one of the most instagrammed vendors in 2014, Cinnamon Snail in 2015 sure didn’t disappoint either. Their food is just as advertised, and deserving of the 5.0÷5.0 and here’s why.
As a food truck, ixnay the ambiance/​décor, there is no storefront. They make up for it by maintaining customer service at a high level and calling attention to taste via their food. I had always known vegetarian and along that vein, vegan cuisine could reach that level level. My cousin is a testament to this as he’s also an accomplished vegan chef who sought and still plans to try his hand at the L.A. food truck scene. That said, Cinnamon Snail hits the nail on the head. They provide a breakfast service and a lunch service.
Everything my friends and I ordered… what can I say?
We were left wanting… and waiting. Wait we did. The line stretched that morning into the afternoon, a half a block during lunch service peak– A testament to their food. Why, only weeks prior there were no lines to be seen at all! What a difference one week makes. (Yes, the city dealt them a raw deal by not renewing their permit. They ceased operations on Feb 28, at least in NYC).
I ordered the cinnamon snail, their take on the cinnamon bun, the gochujang burger deluxe, and a lentil curry puff.
The gochujang burger is perhaps the most coveted item on their menu next to their pastries at the Vendy awards and by mass media. An Ancho Chili Seitan Burger with the most familar of Korean chili pastes in recent memory, Gochujang has a nice bite, but not as strong and sharp as kimchi. This sauce is a proverbial favorite amongst chefs who like applying heat while not overwhelming taste. (Yes, I’m looking at you, B. Flay). Piri piri pepper sauce, and horseradish cream round out the seasoning, all embedded within a gargantuan sized grilled herb focaccia. Although a bit of a mess, there is ample flavor and mild heat in every hearty bite. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Another standout that I didn’t get a chance to order was the Thanksgiving Sandoo. This beautiful porcini mushroom simmered seitan baguette sandwich is heavenly, too.
The cinnamon snail tasted every bit as good as any other cinnamon roll. Is it healthier? Hell if I know, but I’ll eat it anyway.
The curry lentil puff, although flaky and tasty, wasn’t so until I heated it up in a toaster oven. I’m no fan of lentil, but paired in a puff pastry shell with curry spices adds that much more intrigue.
What we know is this. There is staying power to their brand, and as far as we know, they’ll continue participating in large events, pop-​ups and catering events. We await further news of any developments of a brick and mortar presence. I for one am a fan.

Ah cinnamon snail, slowly but surely you crawled your way into my stomach and left a proverbial mark in my somewhat vegan heart. No longer will I have to tell my significant other to get back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich! (Kidding, of course I will).
This vegan food truck, like me, is all over the city during the week so be sure to check your fb or Twitter, whatever kids use to Netflix these days, to stalk them. They have breakfast specials, sandwiches/​wraps, and lots of options for desserts, sweet treats such as brownies, donuts to name a few.
This is the ideal place to get your one cheat meal of the week, I’m not thinking about the calories when I’m stuffing my mouth with the insurmountable goodness that is called the turkey sandoo (the cranberry stuffing and gravy makes this sandwich a winner). I had a chance to try their current special
a smoked chili bourbon bbq seitan burger with jalapeño mac n cheese, smoked almond bacon, arugula, and chipotle mayo on a baguette. The sauce is amazing and the ingredients altogether had my taste buds jumping!
The donuts, albeit small, are perfect in size and is worth every penny ($ 2.50/pop). The Thai basil donut and peanut butter bomb, a name that I may have tanked, were both delicious. I enjoy donuts that are not overly sweet.
Overall the vegan food at Cinnamon Snail is a must, and should be a staple for your cheat days.

Aah il faut absolument que je teste ça !
Les prix peuvent paraître légèrement élevés pour un food truck, mais la qualité des ingrédients (bio), l’inventivité de la cuisine, le goût les justifient largement et finalement le rapport qualité prix est plutôt fantastique.
Première chose à savoir, le food truck n’a pas de location fixe, ils bougent tous les jours. Le dimanche, ils publient sur leur page Facebook les adresses de la semaine.
Deuxième chose, si vous voulez évitez une très très longue file d’attente, venez vers 11h30. Et oui, le succès se paye !
La carte se compose de quelques sandwichs signatures, comportant souvent une source de protéine vegan (à base de soja ou autre: tempeh, tofu, seitan); quelques burgers, un spécial de la semaine, quelques options raw food et sans gluten, ainsi qu’une grande sélection de pâtisseries (surtout des donuts) qui change régulièrement.
Je me suis laissée tenter par le maple mustard sandwich mais n’ayant pas de pain sans gluten ce jour la (je né sais pas si c’est fréquent), cela s’est transformé en salade: c’était vraiment délicieux ! Du sucré, de l’aiolé, de l’épicé… J’ai adoré !
Tout était bon et les produits –Kale, roquette, tomates, oignons…- savoureux. Et puis, une petite salade de temps en temps ça fait du bien ! (Premiers légumes mangés en quelques jours)
C’était copieux et suffisant pour un repas comme portion, mais comme c’était un peu trop healthy, il fallait bien rajouter une sorte de gâteau gluten-​free au peanut butter: très très fat, friable, bon je n’ai pas été transcendée.
Mais malgré tout le Cinnamon Snail mérite bien ces 5 étoiles ! Renseignez vous sur les stops de la semaine et allez-​y si vous voulez avoir un aperçu de ce que ces businessmen new-​yorkais ont la chance de manger !

Great Vegan/​Vegetarian place in the new PENNSY food hall near penn station. This place is right next to Madison Square Garden on the 7^th Ave side (part of 2 Penn Plaza).
Food is amazing. It is known for the cinnamon rolls but I didn’t get a chance to try that — maybe next time.
