I’ll start by saying that my child attends classes at the 78th/1st Ave location in the Upper East Side. We attend a ballet class and my child LOVES the class and the teacher(Miss Natalie). I love it because it’s laid back(not a super-hyper-gotta-get-your-kid-prepped-for-Juliard type of place). They learn the basics while having fun. They have a pianist, which is fabulous. I chose this place because it was reasonable(as far as NYC prices go), we liked the teacher, and the pace of the program/kids that attend. If you miss a class, they let you make it up, so you’re not losing money. We made up classes by taking a few music classes. Lots of variety, children sang, played some song-games, played xylophones, identified some instruments. My daughter liked her ballet teacher better than the music teacher, but I thought she did really well with the kids. Again, live pianist. They give a free trial class(which seems like you actually pay for with the registration fee, but the next semester you don’t have to pay registration fee) and if you take a second class or a sibling takes a class in the same semester, it’s half off. Office staff(when I’ve talked to them on the phone) are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely take my second child here when she gets older, but I have to say that Miss Natalie is a big reason why we’ve given this place 5 stars!
