tiny, cozy, not a lot of atmosphere exactly but given the neighborhood super convenient and affordable. Lots of bite size snacks, good tea, will update when I try the coffee. Definitely a good place to meet up or pass time if you’ve got something going on in that area.

The theme of this café is so adorable! So many crowns, and frogs, and frogs in crowns everywhere! I wanted to try something a little different, so I asked the barista what coffee drink they were known for. He recommended the coconut latte — and although I’ve never been a huge fan of coconuts, I decided why not! It’s the new year anyway, I should try something new. Well, be forewarned. It’s not your typical latte. Per the barista, it is made of coconut milk, coconut water, and a shot of espresso. He did NOT tell us that there would also be coconut chunks and flakes floating around in the drink! Don’t assume that you’ll be able to just take a huge swig of your latte, because I promise you, you will choke on something.(We forgot to warn our friend and when she had a taste of mine, she was sputtering and coughing for a good minute.) My verdict? It’s interesting, but I’m not sure it was worth the hefty price($ 5.99 for a large). It was also really bizarre having to chew pieces of coconut in between mouthfuls of coffee… I’m not sure what the typical clientle looks like, but I must say that this particular café seems to attract a very eccentric group of individuals, at least when we were there. The place is also really, really tiny — like 5 – 6 tables worth — so it probably isn’t the best place to have really personal conversations. PSA. If you need the bathroom, there is one behind the counter. Let the barista know and they will let you back there. The bathroom was a lot more spacious(and clean!) than I expected. :)

Came here for a mid-afternoon pit stop. Amazing friendly service but pretty clueless as to how to make a cup of tea. After a lot of messing around we finally succeeded, and thoroughly enjoyed our tea, with a square of chocolate.

Stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with the good service and delicious coffee. Three empanadas for $ 12 but I didn’t really enjoy the spinach and egg one. Other than that, great service and good food!

Absolutely disastrous place if my single experience was typical. Disgusting, watery coffee, even when they kindly offered to remake it. It was like a bad diner coffee at fancy coffee house price. Stale empanada, spinach when I asked for ground beef. I don’t know how its possible to be so clueless. Somebody should open a real place on this block, which doesn’t have much going on early mornings.

The Frog’s Crown is the greatest coffee shop in SoHo. If you’ve yet to treat yourself to an iced coconut latte, DOITNOW — it will change your life. The atmosphere is cozy & friendly, the service is phenomenal, and the coffee(I especially love the iced coffee) is perfect every time. Also, amazing empanadas. Nutella. This place rocks!

A great place you should visit. The coffee is really good, not to mention about the empanadas. Recommended…

Probably the smallest café I’ve ever been in — it made me feel like I was Dikembe Mutumbo, especially because I had a carry on with me. But despite what you might hear, size can be deceiving sometimes. This café comes at you with a plethora of drink and food options: your normal coffee/tea stuff, and the most extensive assortment of empenadas this side of texas and mexico. Staff was efficient and friendly. My tea was good. I left a happy man. ~the end~

This little café is conveniently located right off the subway station. The words on the window«coconut latte» caught my attention — I love lattes and I love coconut! AND I was in need of something to wake me up and warm me up on a cold New York morning. I walk inside and this place is a lot smaller than it looks. There are a few tables but not a lot of room for people to be lollygagging around. Still, I like the way it is decorated inside. The walls are full of funny and notable quotes. I ordered the coconut latte that my eyes were so hungry for. This was delicious! It was my first time trying a coconut latte and I was surely not disappointed. Not one bit. I also ordered a nutella and chocolate empanada which took about 5 minutes to bake/heat up. I really enjoyed it! The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and enthusiastic to help. I sat down to wait for my empanada and a line formed — he was very helpful to everyone, I saw, and was very quick to do everything. I will make it a note to come back here to try the other empanadas on my next visit to NYC. It seems that everyone who came in ordered a type of empanada and they all looked good!

Came here for breakfast and for empanadas, they’re light and delicious! Just get the Nutella and peanut butter and the tortilla Espanola! The mocha drink I for was also amazing! They’re fast and courteous! Will be coming back

After reading the reviews, I said I would give it a try. I had the spinach egg and feta cheese empanada. I had the counter person heat it up. I really wasn’t impressed. I love seasoning and it boy did this need some, didn’t have to be salt because of the cheese but it needed some tlc, not to mention it was dry. Wasn’t a fan of the almond croissant either, it was wheat… just reminded me of some type of almond paste sandwich. The counter woman was very pleasant and accommodating. Clean inside, 6 small tables

A quaint place right near the E line with really chill vibes and«cool» décor. When my friend and I went in we were excited to try a new little place with empanadas and gazpacho. The empanada I ordered was very tasty(Cheeseburger empanada) however I felt the other food seemed to be slacking. The ground beef pie slice my friend ordered was a little underwhelming and the gazpacho had an overwhelming taste of only carrots and cucumbers. However what did save this place was the friendly customer service. The lady who helped me was knowledgable in what she was serving and what ingredients were in it. She also wore a warm smile and was very helpful. All in all, come here for some good empanadas and friendly service. If you’re looking for more this might not be the place for you(although I don’t have a say in their pastry selection or drink menu both of which I have not tried!)

A good breakfast really does start the day off right and this place has the empanadas to do just that. I paired mine with their delicious, homemade greek yogurt and guava spread. Enjoying my meal at their little wooden tables gave me time to admire their whimsical décor, including a wall of framed quotes, too. Best of all, on my first trip in, I was served by the owner. Initially overwhelmed by options(a typical problem for me), I told him I’d be a minute… and he then proceeded to give me a full run-through of the menu!

The fact that breakfast empanadas have never before existed in my life is such a problem… Their egg, spinach, and feta empanada is to die for! The service was a little lackadaisical for my taste, but the delicious food made it worth it!

HI. I’ve been trying iced coffee and cold brews all around me. I don’t add sugar/sugar water or milk/creamer to any of my drinks. I like my coffee black! This place is delicious. The coffee is absolutely amazing. I’ve also just tried an empanada. Broccoli and mozzarella. The most delicious empanada I’ve had. Thank you! I’ll be back again soon!

They have empanadas with any filling you can just imagine. Not only that but cookies, croissants, pastries… Would love to see a salad option for people trying to keep it healthy(wink wink). Latte was just ok but staff was friendly enough to make up for it! There were plenty of empty tables at 7pm on a Monday night.

I stumbled upon this place on the way to an exercise class. I had the hungs and didn’t want my stomach to growl during class so I stopped in for a quick bite. They had lots to choose from! Savory to sweet, small to large they have treats of all sizes and taste preferences. I went with a spinach and cheese triangle and it was yummmmmm. I meant to take a picture before writing this review but it was so good that I inhaled it in 2.5 bites. The food is yumm, the prices are good and its a cute little spot. I’d definitely come back

My husband and I were in the area, and we saw The Frog’s Crown out of the corner of our eye. It seemed like a cute place — limited seating within, with small tables and stools(sort of cramped). The staff here was very friendly and so sweet, including the manager. They were happy to offer their suggestions and recommendations, and were patient when you decide what to order. Their menu offers a variety of items, such as quiches, empanadas, homemade pies, croissants, muffins, scones, cookies, and hot/cold beverages. I picked up a few different kinds of empanadas, such as the Cubana Gourmet Empanada(with pork, ham, and cheese; forgettable), Pizza Gourmet Empanada(mozzarella, tomato, and basil; least of my favorites, as it was literally just a mound of mozzarella cheese with a sliver of tomato sauce), Cheeseburger Gourmet Empanda(ground beef and cheese; the ground beef needed more seasoning and/or garlic), Ground Beef and Chili Gourmet Empanada(my favorite out of them all), and a Traditional Chicken empanada(filled with chunks of chicken meat; tasted like chicken soup in a thicker crust). I also ordered their signature drink, the Coconut Latte. I was not a fan of the Coconut Latte, as the latte itself was not strong, and there were just tons of coconut shavings within — it basically tasted like boiled water with coconut bits. I would love to come back and try out their other baked goods as well as their other beverages. +Chili Gourmet Empanada

I’m not much of a coffee guy, so I can’t comment on the drinks. However, I would highly recommend this little spot. This café has quickly become a New York Favorite. Just nestled into the edge of SOHO, the Frog’s Crown offers some really good and reasonably priced empanadas, and pastries for the morning. There’s Free Wi-Fi too if you’re looking for a good quiet spot to work. Although finding a table may be difficult depending on the time of day
