I honestly was so nervous to even purchase extensions because I never thought I would need it. I went today, and couldn’t have been happier. I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle and she made this experience all the more better. She took so much time explaining everything to me. She was so kind and patient and really made me feel better even when I left.
I wish everyone had this kind of customer service! It’s exceptional!

This place is great!!! I went in a few months back to purchase extensions for my wedding and it turned out the gentleman helping me was a new employee. Well you would have never have known it!!! STEPHEN (I HOPE I AM SPELLING IT RIGHT) was awesome!!! I recently had to go back to purchase more extensions for the big day and he remembered me! That is what you call good customer service!!! Not only was the service great but the store is so organized!

Highly recommend! I was new to the hair extension world, and was hesitant about it, but kinda wanted a small piece for my wedding. Wow was I glad I went to the Hair Shop. Michelle new exactly what I needed, color and everything, and I was out of there in 20minutes… With a great, all human hair piece, for just 30 $. They have a huge selection and great customer service. Much better going to a place like this which specializes in just hair extensions and wigs, rather than stores that sell a mix of things (like cosmetics) and extensions. They are the experts.

I had a wonderful customer service experience and a lot of fun working with Faith at The Hair Shop. Faith was very knowledgeable and patient and took the time to educate me about the various clip in extension options for my engagement shoot and wedding. We discussed quality, care, placement and went through a careful color match selection process to ensure they naturally blended with my own hair. The ladies were also able to stay within my stated budget. OkMy hairstylist was very impressed with the quality of the pieces that I purchased and thought I spent more than double what I did! Extremely exceptional service. Michelle helped me pick the right color and had the most patience with me since I have a lot of different colors in my hair. They have a large selection of extensions, sew ins, clip ins and glued ones. Definitely coming back again!

Michelle and Emily are incredible. They’re so patient, honest, and truly helpful. They spent about an hour helping me find the perfect extensions and making sure that it blended into my hair naturally. I can’t thank them enough!

Very happy with the stuff at The Hair Shop and my purchase! I bought one piece clip-​in hair extension. The girl named Faith was just so friendly and amazing, really took her time to pick the best color that matches my hair. I left this place very excited to wear my new hair piece. It’s a great quality and I’ll be wearing it for a long time.

So I just bought 18in skin weft hair in shade 3 and i was so excited spent about $ 380 on them a bought a few extra pieces… Customer service was great that was until i had my stylist put the hair in my head April 2^nd. i have only had them in one week and about a week later they started matting and knotting horrible. i would comb them bottom up and right after they would form balls of hair immediately after. I have been wearing extensions for 7 years now and i know good products and how to maintain them. After brushing my hair they matt right back up i am so upset i spent all of this money and my hair stylist can’t believe this hair is doing this and i used to wear their clip ins and this hasn’t happened from what i can remember but now were switching back to hot heads I’m so disappointed i didn’t even get a weeks use out of this hair and now have to put money out to a new product.

Sadly, this is one of the more terrible experiences I have ever had with a company.
The details:
I’m a hairstylist for 15 years (I know a thing or 2 about hair, extensions, and how this should all work)
I purchased $ 400 worth of tape in extensions and had to go back for $ 150 more, then an additional visit because they told me the damage caused on my extensions was from not using their products)
I paid $ 200 to have these applied, and $ 50 to have them removed in 2 weeks time
TOTAL SPEND for an uncomfortable, horribly experience that left bald spots on my hair in the course of 2 weeks:
$ 800 In wasted money.
On February 26^th I had my extension applied by a very reputable professional at a salon I happen to own. I did not use a lot of heat, nor styling products and was thrilled with the result and the way they look, even posting a selfie of excitement!
3 days later I go to the salon to have my hair washed/​blown dry. Everything goes fine, it takes about an hour for her to complete a look as she is being very gentle not to pull the hair.
The next morning, at brunch a friend of mine points out that all the hair on the back of my neck is matted. By the end of the day all of the hair is in tangled clumps and I have to pull it back into a braid to keep it from looking INSANE not to mention, uncomfortable as it’s starting to pull.
Over the course of the weekend and a busy Monday I leave my hair in pigtail braids, which is kinda cute and hides the mess that is forming. By the time I made it back to the Hair Shop, my hair is in full dread locks. It hurts. It is tangling with my natural hair, its awful.
I go back to the hair shop and they indicate to me that this will all be fixed by purchase THEIR shampoo and condition so I spend another $ 15. If you HAVE to use their shampoo and conditioner for this not to happen, shouldn’t they insist you take it home the first day?
Needless to say that this did not help. I went back 2 days later to purchase the removal product, which by the way — DID NOT WORK. Because my extensions were only a week and a half old, the tape bonds were very strong and did not dissolve with the product they sold me.
My extension stylist was horrified. Our salons generally use Euro So Cap and she has never seen this. I lost so much hair during the removal process I was in tears.
I promptly returned the hair to the store and filled out their refund form. After 2 weeks they called me back and said they would be happy to give me MORE EXTENSIONS? Why in the world would I allow myself to go through this again.
This company is unethical. I deserve a refund — I am a business owner and this was a disaster — I don’t care how nice you are when telling me no, if you do the wrong thing, it’s still wrong.
I am now disputing all my charges, even my $ 7 removal product on my credit card.
Do yourself a favor and go else where — save $ 822 when all you get out of it is an uncomfortable experience, loss of time, and a few bald spots.

This place is nothing short of amazing. I have been using hair extensions for over 10 years, and this by far is the best store I’ve ever been to for hair. I have used their tape and clip-​in extensions and I’ve never seen quality hair quite like theirs. There is also a difference in the way they bond the hair together — it is much more natural, thin, and barely noticeable when in your hair. My favorite consultant at the store is Michelle, she is really terrific. I always get there first thing when open so that I can get the time I need, if I don’t know what I want. I was playing with the ombré idea for my Spring/​Summer hairstyle and Michelle took time to show me all kinds of different options. In my 10 years of doing extensions, I’ve never had someone so attentive and so genuinely interested in what look I was going for! She is very sweet, and doesn’t make you feel rushed at all.

I don’t normally write reviews but the service my daughter and I received from the Hair Shop was GREAT! My daughter’s birthday party was coming up and she wanted to get hair put in by her stylist. She wanted to choose her own hair and decided on the Hair Shop. Needless to say, I was clueless on the whole thing. But the girls there were very friendly and helpful to us. A very nice young lady named Angie walked us through the whole thing. Very informative and it turned out that she was the manager! She helped my daughter pick the best length and color for her. She was very happy with her hair and she looked beautiful. Thank you Hair Shop!

Had the BEST experience coming here for a new topper (i.e. a partial hair piece worn by women with thinning hair).
First off, it was amazing to shop for a piece in such a chic and beautiful store. Probably like a lot of women with medical hair loss, I’m used to trying on pieces in these run-​down strip malls. The Hair Shop looked like one of the trendiest stores in Manhattan, the kind of place I would have wanted to (and could have) gone to to look fabulous BEFORE I even started losing my hair (I’m only 27)! People without hair loss probably won’t get this, but it was such a special experience to shop for hair in a place that made me feel actually fashionable and totally normal.
The customer service was amazing. I worked with Michelle, who was incredibly knowledgable and personable and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. She gave me personalized attention, helping me to try on and integrate a topper I saw on the website, color matching my hair, and connecting me personally with their LA store when they didn’t have the color in stock for the topper I wanted.
This place seems to mostly specialize in hair extensions– and wow do they have an amazing, high-​quality inventory!- which is why it felt so special to shop here. It isn’t a medical hair loss salon, so no full wigs or bandanas (that i’m aware of), but they do have some very nice toppers!
This topper, I should mention, was my dream piece. French cap/“skin top,” lace front, AND integration wefts?! Why doesn’t everyone make these? The clips were in the perfect place (e.g. not in the middle of my forehead!) and the cap was light and just the right amount of coverage. They have other lace front toppers in other styles and lengths. And the price was amazing– I have paid SO much more for SO much less in stores back home.
This place was incredible. If you are looking for extensions, this seems like a no-​brainer amazing specialty shop, but if you have medical hair loss, you also should definitely come in and see what it is like to shop for helper hair in legitimate style and with total dignity.

Stephen and his coworkers were super helpful in finding me the perfect, color matched extensions! Love that they worked as a team to help me choose the best color! Took time to take me outside and make sure they still looked great even in the bright sun! Great people and great customer service!

Took my mom here to get her first wig, Love the doorbell, it gives a sense of class and exclusiveness. Met Daniella who is super nice and sincere. was patient and helped my mom try on a few wigs. Daniella answered all 106 of my mom’s questions with a smile. She even recommended us to other wig shops around the neighborhood. My mom loved this spot so much she bought 2 sigs.

Was just at the hair shop today to take part in the extension master class they offer for hair stylists and I have to say it was such a amazing experience. Ryan the CEO of the company personally taught the certification class which covered every single hair extension method offered in the shop as well as which method would be ideal for each client and why. The staff as well are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

This place is amazing.
I am a bottle blonde and recently had some… issues… when I tried to touch up my own roots. I’ve been having bad hair days ever since and started looking into extensions to cover up some breakage and give me back some volume I lost when my hair fell out in chunks (yes, I cried).
I was researching tape in pieces and found this place on Unilocal.They have an online shop and I liked their selection, so I headed over to see what they had in stock, and maybe treat myself to a little pick me up.
Michelle greeted me and was so patient and helpful– she didn’t just try to sell me on the tape ins I came in for, she showed me a bunch of different options and we found a clip in that would cover all my damage in just one piece. Emily was working the floor too, and she came over to help weigh in on which color would work best. These girls were so friendly, I didn’t feel rushed, and I actually had fun trying on all the pieces. The experience was a total 180 from all the run down hair shops in Midtown, where the salespeople act like you’re killin’ their vibe just for walking in and wanting to spend money.
After we decided on the piece and color matched me, Michelle took the time to steam out the piece to make it look perfect after being unpackaged.
I walked out wearing my piece and feeling so much better about my hair. Now I can actually style it instead of tying it back in a pony. No more bad hair days, thanks to these ladies! Michelle and Emily, if you’re reading this, thank you so much! xoxo
