The Hotel At Times Square

The hotel was great. Location was amazing, just a few blocks away from Time Square. The room and overall hotel was clean. We had the two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for a perfect price. Will stay here again in the near future.

Good location … Great staff…

I stayed here on a Friday night. The hotel was under $ 130 for the night which was great. The hotel is clean and the hotel staff is courteous and helpful. I had a non-​smoking queen size bed room. It was quite small but very clean and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel also has a roof top bar which pretty good happy hour deals. However, only one elevator can take you up to the 14^th floor to the bar.
The hotel also had a continental breakfast that served bagels, pastries, cereal, pancakes and hard boiled eggs. I enjoyed the breakfast although there were a lot of people.
Overall, the hotel is very close to times square and to the Broadway theaters.

HORRIBLE HOTEL! They are very unorganized and extremely RUDE! Cancelled and went to Renaissance. The hotel is 10xs better, bigger and cleaner. Staff is awesome. Do NOT BOOK AT «THE HOTEL @ TIME SQUARE» No parking and you will be disappointed !!

Stayed here on a Sunday night before seeing the Rockettes Monday morning. I’ve stayed in a few hotels and as far as size, this was comparable to most others. The room was nice, nothing super fancy and a few scuff marks here and there. But for the price, you can’t beat it. GREAT location, good size room, nice staff, free breakfast and they held our bags for us while we saw the show so we didn’t have to cart them around town with us. If you’re looking for a place to stay and aren’t too concerned on frills, but still want a nice, clean room. This is your place. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff is nice, courteous, and was helpful while we unloaded our car. That’s really the only good thing about this place, aside from price and I understand the low price now.
I’ll just list them out…
The elevators going down from the 12^th floor took almost 15 minutes to arrive, not to mention you have to click the up arrow to go down. The building is old, but keep your elevators up to date.
The rooms. Actually not a bad size for the city, but we had a sweet view of a crawl space! Super romantic. Felt like we were in an interior room of a cruise ship.
The noise. My wife and I stayed over on a Sunday night, to be woken up more than 3 times through the evening to elevator dings, doors slamming left and right, hustle and bustle from the room next to us, and vacuums rolling through the hallways. My guess is all of them were cleaning folk, beginning around 7am. We wanted a nice night in the city and to try and sleep in. Mission not accomplished.
Parking. They have a sweet deal w a garage across the street. $ 40 for 24 hours. That’s a deal? Guess we’re spoiled in Connecticut where parking is on the street and free on the weekend.
Location. If you want to stay in Times Square, don’t come here because it’s a few blocks away from the action.
It makes sense if you want a cheap hotel, but you get what you pay for.

Great place after all, just the first night was interesting. When we arrived, the staff was nice and the others were really great! Soon, we were sleeping the first night when all of a sudden, I got woken up at about 2am by my Dad. I thought it was breakfast time. My dad said that when he was sleeping, he got woken up by people causing a commotion in their rooms. When he peeked out, he saw people leaving their rooms into the halls. He put my shoes on and carried me downstairs. We went back upstairs when we realized it was just a false alarm that must’ve went off in someone’s room!
Overall, the place was great. All the other nights were good, The rooms were great, breakfast was good, and everything else is okay. The staff was nice and everything worked out great I still recommend this place!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. We stayed for 3 nights and each day we were given new towels and the room was cleaned before 10 a.m. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location was perfect and close to everything. We would stay here again and will be recommending this hotel to friends and family.

My visit was awesome.
I only stayed one night, but the staff were very friendly in my interactions with them. When I locked myself out in the early evening, for example, I was met with quick service and a friendly attitude. I had a problem with my A/​C unit – fixed immediately.
The room was larger than average (I was on the 7^th floor), and reports of a see-​through bathroom door are ridiculous (at least in my room). Yes the door is technically glass, but it’s completely opaque – the only thing you can make out through the door is whether the light on the other side is turned on or not.
The wifi is moderately fast and free, but unsecured (so I suspect it would be faster if they had a password on it).
Though, breakfast is a definitely a disappointment (expect soggy waffles, and you’ll be very sad if you were hoping for sausage or eggs). And as far as privacy goes, my room was adjacent to the elevator, with a very thin door, so if I even had the TV on everyone on the floor probably knew what I was watching.
Definitely worth the price (I booked the night before for $ 127). I plan to go back and would 100% recommend to friends.

This hotel was just ok. It’s located within half a block from Times Square so the location is awesome. Close to Grand Central, The Library, Briant Park HOWEVER the rooms are very small and there is a mildew smell. I ran the AC the whole time and it didn’t go away…
They offer continental breakfast from 6 to 10am and they have a small area with computers and printers. I made the reservation at the last minute and it was the only hotel in Manhattan that had rooms available under $ 500/​night. Reserve it as the last resort.

I was honestly expecting it to be a closet of a room but it was surprisingly spacious and neat. We didn’t have a view of anything other than the back of a building which wasn’t a big deal I was too busy appreciating the space. When I was there they were in the middle of updating all the furniture so there was a ton of head boards and things in the hallway but at least that means they’re upgrading. They also have a small rooftop lounge on the top floor with a very friendly bartender. I would certainly stay here again.

Great for the low price – clean, free wifi, continental breakfast and location. Some staff members were normally pleasant, if not friendly, and others, like the woman at the info desk, had a dismissive attitude like it was too much trouble to indicate where the rest room was. That happens sometimes, but I gave two stars for a different reason.
I was disappointed and truly nervous by the fact that the halls and stairwells on each floor were partially blocked by a HUGE furniture delivery. On one floor, a packing strap was loosened and dangerously extended. Thankfully no one tripped up or down the stairs, and that there were no emergencies or fires because everyone would have been screwed. Major code violations. I don’t think a crowded Labor Day weekend was the time to change the décor.

I stayed here after doing an extensive search for a hotel under $ 200 a night and wasn’t some sort of shares hostel-​like place. This ($ 139/​nt+ tax) and the hotel at st. marks ($ 120/​nt incl tax) were the only decent ones available. Book early though as the prices go up as the days near.
The location is in the little brazil area of midtown though still 2 avenues away from time square itself. Everything looks modernly updated except the building itself. I got a room on the 9^th floor facing the street and it was incredibly noisy in the mornings and whenever there were sirens, which was very often.
one odd thing about it was the bathroom doors had see through glass panaling so I you’ve never seen your co-​habitant sit on the toilet, you will now.
Beds were very comfy, tv worked and there was a desk as well. there was more than enough space for two people to walk around without hitting eachother (maybe 300 sq ft).
lobby has two computers with printers which can be used by guests.
I would definitely consider staying here again, but would request a room facing the back or a higher floor to get away from the noise. great value, okay location, very clean rooms and a comfy bed.

Hotel was great upon arrival. We checked in early and had been given a nice room. Had the two queen beds and lots of space. Bathroom was big also. This was my third time visiting the city and for the price, location and size it was the best one.
I didn’t give this hotel a great rating because of the following things:
1. towels are old and have holes and stains on them from wear and tear.
2. View was of the side of the building so if you want a great view this is not the place to stay.
3. Fire alarm went off at midnight had to evacuate down 11 flights of stairs then after returning had no water until about 5 am and other guests had to actually be put in other hotels due to water leaking in their room and damaging items. The hotel offered NO DISCOUNTS and the reason from the girl at the front desk said «a fire alarm is an emergency and we don’t do discounts on emergencies. Your water was turned off to inspect for the fire» which is false! The water was a main line break had nothing to do with an emergency fire. Also they offered no complimentary water or anything VERY disappointing. Especially for the price you pay!
4. Bell hop is awful. Took him way too long to get our bags and we had a flight to catch. We asked him to get us a taxi and his response was he could when he was done helping someone else with their luggage to their room or we could walk out down the street and just do it on our own. We had asked for help before the guest with the luggage came in so we should have been priority. It wouldn’t have been so stressful if we didn’t have a flight to catch. A hotel is supposed to be the relaxation of your trip.
5. Dresser drawers didn’t stay
closed and rolled forward constantly giving limited room to get into the bathroom.
6. Rooftop bar was a cool view but we couldn’t order half the drinks on the menu because they were out of the wine or juice to make it. Bartender stated the order was placed too late.
7. Elevator is super slow! Only 2 available and they are right in front of the room.
8. Desk help is not friendly or inviting. Make you feel like a $$ sign and not a guest of their building. In and out is their mindset.
Recap: If you are planning a quick trip and want a cheaper rate close to everything then I would say stay here. If you want customer service and a beautiful room then go to the Marriot marquis!
Customer service is this hotels huge opportunity!

I called to cancel my reservation and the front desk answered the phone. I asked to be transferred to reservation and without saying anything — he just transferred me which I think is really rude.
When the reservation answered the phone — she sounds as if she’s not interested in speaking at all. She sounded dead. When she finished the transaction — she just said ok. So, I had to tell her that being in the reservation and talking to people, she should sounds as if she’s welcoming and smiling. Overall, the staff here does not sound like they like their job. They sound dead!

Boyfriend and I stayed here over Valentine’s Day weekend. The man at the front desk was very nice and extremely helpful, but that’s where the good news ends.
The room was TINY. I am pretty sure housekeeping found and stole my leather work portfolio that I left when we checked out. I called everyday for the next three days and the housekeeping manager was very rude and kept telling me they hadn’t found it. I had important meeting notes and business cards in that portfolio, so I am pretty annoyed.

When you’re a lonely girl spending a few nights in the Big Apple, staying at a hotel seems like a good idea. Wanting to be as close as possible to the Times Square area with it’s abundant safe-​ness of bright lights, people all the time as well as restaurants, shops and other attractions, this hotel was a winner. Lucky for me, it didn’t completely break my bank either since I found a deal online.
Literally like two mins away from Times Square, it’s great with free wifi, a flat screen TV if you find yourself in your room for a decent length of time, free breakfast in the kitchen just behind the lobby and handy in-​room personal safe. Didn’t need it but has a 24 Hour Fitness center and upstairs bar also. Notable mention; their skinny thin staircases– not so wide.
A good hotel choice!

So in all honesty, my family was in the hotel to only sleep and shower. So — we didn’t really use ALL the things they had to offer.
My bf’s mom recommended this hotel and I’m glad she did. Other places were kind of pricey… well, the ones near Time Square. So happy this place was just $ 169 per night. Not bad at all. There were some nights (after walking 10+ miles), the location of this place saved my legs + my back.
TIP: This hotel is also a few streets away from Halal Guys on 53^rd! Worth going to btw if you’re in a rush/​not wanting to spend crazy money on lunch.
The room we were in had 2 beds and I’ll admit. the room was bigger than I thought. We were also near NOTHING window wise. It was great. So quiet while we slept. :) The room also had a TV! + iHome. Not sure if every Hotel has one, but eh. The bed was also very comfy. Definitely welcomed that when I crashed to sleep.
PS — they have a huge closet. :D But no fridge :(
Only thing is that their bathroom is not very updated. Meh. Had dispensers rather than a soap bar. Weird.
I also wish they had a bigger elevator :(But hey it’s NY, what can you do? I didn’t get breakfast here, but I did hear my mom say she rather eat out or eat brunch elsewhere. I was too sick to eat any mornings. I just had their OJ, which wasn’t very tasteful, so I guess that’s a sign. BUT — the breakfast was free + had fresh bananas. Can’t complain.
Btw — the stairs here are kind of steep. I’d be careful. Don’t run. I’m 25 and I had to hold the rail. My 13 year old brother almost fell. But I was right behind him to catch him.
And the staff here are really nice. Held our luggage for a few hours when we checked out so we could shop and etc.
I’ll definitely stay here again if I come back to NY.

Here is a quick scoop in the GOOD, BAD and the UGLY.
The GOOD — Location gets 5 stars. If this is the most important thing to you then just go ahead and book here and not worry about some of the other iniquities.
Other good-​pretty clean, relatively comfortable bed, outlets by the desk were nice. Pretty lobby and nice that there is hotel bar in the roof.
The bad/​ugly — The staff, how do I put this. They accomplish their tasks and are helpful but everything lacks hospitality (or even a smile), I felt like they were tolerating to have us there (and by us, I mean every guest in the hotel).
Elevators are small and slow.
Our room 304 was small but that wasn’t so bad. The bad was the endless traffic noise from the street all night long. Also the window in the bathroom sounded like it was open all the time so it was literally 15– 20 degrees colder in their than the room. When it’s 20 outside, it’s freezing in the bathroom.
The other disappointment was the breakfast. The «hot eggs» are hard boiled, the coffee was terrible and all the other choices are processed carbs (other than the bananas).
I would try other hotels in the area before staying here again.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night here.

Reservations were in order and early check in as requested
The location is great
Near good restaurants
Corner room on 8^th floor very quiet
Cute little rooftop bar open year round
The only complaint is the bathroom is very old and needs an upgrade. There is no fan in the bathroom and the shower drain was very slow.
Also the breakfast was not that great
The milk is watered down. However it is free so you really can’t complain that much. Besides there are other places nearby to catch breakfast.
Several good restaurants next door on 46^th.
We saw so much, walked everywhere including Rockefeller Plaza, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Radio City Hall, Times Square all within walking distance. We didn’t cab it once.
So this is not an upscale place but very comfortable and convenient.
I’d give this 3 stars because of the old bathroom. But the comfortable beds, great price and convenience earns it 4!

Hote ubicado en un lugar súper estratégico. A media cuadra de la Quinta Avenida y a dos de Times Square. Es un hotel pequeño pero cómodo.

Hotel correct dont la principale qualité est sa situation géographique. En effet à deux pas de Times square, le Top of the rock, du Moma, de la 5eme av, … C’est parfait pour lancer sa journée a NY. Les chambres sont propres même si la notre n’avait pas de fenêtre. Le petit déj n’a rien d’extraordinaire. Par contre pour un famille de français qui né maîtrisent pas la langue de Shakespeare, on né peut pas dire que la disponibilité, la courtoisie ou l’empathie soient des qualités qui caractérisent le personnel de l’accueil ou de la conciergerie !
