The Muffin Man, Conjoined

The man who sells muffins and other breakfast goods across the downtown R train at 8^th has expanded. And I don’t know how I should feel about this. On the one hand, I’m happy to see that his business is expanding and that he has so many fans (though I’m pretty sure most of his female — and some male– customers just buy from him so that they can see his beautiful smile every morning… or maybe that’s just me). Yet… the recent conglomeration also leaves me feeling a bit… I don’t know… nostalgic and sad. It’s just not the same anymore. It’s like seeing an indie record store go chain.
I haven’t bought anything from him since the expansion so I can’t really rate the new vendor… but there’s probably a bigger selection now. There are two of them now that it’s expanded and all. Muffin men, that is. And really, there should only just be one. Hm. Is anyone else feeling weird about this? Does anyone know what I’m talking about???
