The experience is inspired by the grand cafés of Europe and by classic American dining rooms, with a welcoming yet refined interior design by the Rockwell Group, bustling atmosphere, and great service. The menu at The National offers classic bistro dishes with Zakarian’s signature Modern American touch — a style of cooking that earned him critical acclaim at his previous establishments TOWN and Country. Zakarian’s cuisine is fresh and accessible, concentrating on American ingredients prepared with French technique.

Geoffrey Zakarian is the visionary behind The National, and one of the nation’s most widely celebrated chefs. Throughout his career, he has helmed internationally acclaimed kitchens such as 21 Club, 44 at the Royalton, The Delano, Patroon, TOWN, Country, The Lambs Club in NYC and Tudor House in Miami. As an arbiter of style and an accomplished chef, Chef Zakarian consistently utilizes his background of classic French cooking techniques and his innate sense of design to enhance the dining and hospitality experiences at his establishments.
Recently, Zakarian emerged victorious in the 4th Season of Food Network’s «The Next Iron Chef, Super Chefs.» He now appears regularly on «Iron Chef America,» demonstrating a razor-sharp knowledge of culinary techniques in this fast-paced cooking competition. When he’s not battling in kitchen stadium, Zakarian stays busy filming «CHOPPED», where he is featured as a recurring judge, and highlights his favorite dishes on «The Best Thing I Ever Ate.»
