I have known Gina Schatz for 3+ years, having met her during my 200-hr. yoga teacher training in Cleveland in 2012. Gina was contracted to coach us through the anatomy portion of the program. I fully confess that I was dreading that portion of the coursework, assuming it would be dry and reminiscent of the rote memorization of grade school. To say I was wrong is a gross understatement. Gina is dynamic and inspirational in her teaching style: she literally energized an entire room of students with her enthusiasm and her hands-on teaching style enabled us to retain that knowledge and USE it when assisting our students. I was so impressed that I have since taken 3 or 4 of her workshops that focus on specific areas of the body. Gina’s knowledge is fueled by her passion for the subject matter and that quest for knowledge cannot help but be contagious. As a yoga teacher, I recognize that it is essential not only to keep learning; but to keep myself balanced and«in alignment». As such, I do not miss the opportunity to see Gina whenever she is in-town(monthly or quarterly). Gina is an astute listener and takes the time to probe with questions before offering feedback. Not only learned, she is intuitive. I leave those therapy sessions«aligned» and ready to be of service to my students. I have recommended her to my husband as well as anyone seeking therapeutic alignment, and those that have met her have become regular clients. I highly endorse Gina Schatz as a trainer, practitioner, teacher and healer. She is a consummate professional and I consider myself very fortunate to know her and to learn from her.

This review is for practitioners considering doing The Train The Trainer Program through The Schatz Method. When I was considering signing up for this program, I really wish there was a review or two online for me see what this was all about. It was only after I parted ways with Gina did I find out others had similar experiences. I only made it through 1 month of the program, received 2 private conference calls, a handful of emails and ended up paying $ 2,600. As our relationship developed, I realized Gina was only in this for the money and not to, in her words, «live in a pain free world». Her intentions are to keep her method close to her chest. I thought I was signing up to be taught her method, but as the program progressed, I realized there was a real lack of content, considering the price tag for a year of training is over $ 6,000. For this price, I expected a clear curriculum and manual, but it ended up being a piece-meal approach to Gina’s knowledge without any clear direction. When I brought this up with her, she lashed out and eventually cut me off completely. She ended our partnership, without refunding any of the money I already paid her. I do not feel that I got my money’s worth, but money aside, I am just glad to have the negativity out of my life. First things first — this program is NOT for brand new practitioners. If you are just starting out in the wellness world, this is not the program for you. She often recruits brand new yoga teachers(in their teacher training programs) but this program is designed for individuals who are established and have private clients they currently work on. Like I said earlier, for $ 6,500 you would expect a ton of information. The«manual» itself is simply an expanded version of her online marketing material. It offers no information on how to do the method, the measurements, or any of the therapeutics. I have taken weekend workshops, for a fraction of the cost, that had more content in the manual than this program. The next issue with content is the quality of the«training sessions.» These phone calls are supposed to be the«meat and potatoes» of the program, yet she does not make them a priority. She only offers them during off hours that are convenient for her schedule and she may even be in route to another meeting while taking your call. During one of my training calls, she was in the back of a cab! I find it hard to believe she was very prepared for these calls, or was even taking them seriously. Although you signed up to learn The Schatz Method, you will find that Gina is not very willing to share her knowledge with you. When I asked her for ideas on core engagement exercises and building intrinsic strength, to help with one of my current students, I was told I would learn this information in one of her workshops. Which begs the question, why was I paying her now for something I was supposed to take ADDITIONAL time out of my own schedule to attend. If you are truly interested in Gina’s information, I suggest skipping this program entirely and take her workshops. The workshops are where you will find the bulk of the information she offers in the Train the Trainer program, and you can attend them all for a much smaller price tag. I would like to close by saying Gina is a talented practitioner that has tons of knowledge. It’s unfortunate that her ego and checkbook get the best of her. This review is my personal opinion of the Train The Trainer Program, not of Gina as a bodyworker.
