The Squeeze

I’ve ordered delivery from here twice. Both times the wait was over an hour and a half, but the food was great the first time and I was excited to order again. Today, I placed the same order and the moc and cheese was completely different. It was very saucy, acidic and just not good. It was also in a much smaller container than last time, which was annoying. I will likely order again but will stay away from the moc and cheese and make sure I have plenty of time to wait.
Also my doorman commented how badly they package the order lol but he’s right put in an proper bag.

I really do appreciate the creativity in the food, was tempted to try everything! Like it was mentioned in other reviews, the service is very good. I ordered delivery and they ran out of the spiced milk and they called and let me sub in whatever I wanted (moc and cheese). Although, I’m not sure why they run out of things in the middle of the day…
I tried the sweet potato white bean burger and the moc and cheese. The white bean burger was fine, kind of bland, and nothing to write home about. The moc and cheese tasted too vinegary for me. On opening the container, the smell immediately put me off and then the whole thing tasted mildly sour.
All in all, I want to like this place but was not impressed.

What really makes this a place worth checking out is their top notch customer service.
Melissa and her team went above and beyond because of an issue that wasn’t even their fault, which will keep me coming back (or having them come by in any case) — solid smoothies solid service totally ace!

I love this place. The food is delicious [organic too], the staff is friendly (shout out to Vienna!) and it’s right by my work.
I will probably go here every workday for the rest of eternity.
I’ve tried a few juice places in the area and something about their recipes tastes so much better than their competitors.

The first time I ordered delivery from here it was for dinner and my order came in a timely manner. I was impressed with how it tasted: the sweet potato burger was delicious and was hot upon delivery and the Moc and cheese was warm and pretty amazing. So after my first experience, I recommended we order this for lunch at my office. I was so bummed when it took an hour and 20 minutes to get to us. They called me a half hour after my order had went in and said they only had two sweet potato burgers left (I had ordered 3) and asked if I would like the black bean burger instead or I could wait 45 minutes and they would be able to make another sweet potato burger, so I picked the black bean burger. After another 35 minutes I called to check on my order and it had «just left». The food finally came and all 3 burgers we ordered were cold — my hungry coworkers were not so impressed; also, I didn’t realize the black bean burger came by itself (the sweet potato burger I had ordered came with a side of lentils) so I was still hungry… If I was to order from here again it would be if I went to pick it up myself. If I have a better experience next time I’ll be sure to update.
Other things in our order:
Pasta salad with veggies — satisfying but not necessarily worth the $ 7.00
Tollhouse Nookies — yummy but not really worth 3.99 for one cookie
Almond Joys — a good sweet treat and at least you get two for 3.99
Ratatouille Wrap — good to get your veggies in but completely fell apart when eating

I have tried every juice place in the city and the squeeze is by far my fav. Love the combos of juice here that are super fresh and the sweetest staff. I am addicted to their smoothies– the blueberry is amazing. Def try the kale chips too! There are always some great chocolate stuff too!

This was my first time at The Squeeze. I am trying to go Raw for the first time. Melissa was amazing. She answered all of my questions. She made great recommendations. She had thorough knowledge of all of the products. Exceptional customer service. I will definitely be back to this location because of this experience.

Hidden gem! I’ve been on a hunt for a good juice place in my neighborhood and the closest ones were about 3 avenues away. Finally, The Squeeze to the rescue. This place is located inside the Mercedes Club up on the 3^rd Floor. Very spacious and welcoming atmosphere tucked behind the entrance of the club. Melissa instantly greeted me and took my order. I ordered the acai bowl with fresh blueberries, banana slices, and coconut rawnula. It was so delicious and filling. I’d definitely come back to try the many other items on the menu.

Love this place !!! I’ve been coming to the squeeze for a while now! Melissa is great & very helpful. All the food and drinks are very healthy with great protein!

After a hard workout at the Mercedes Club there’s nothing better than the cold pressed refreshing options at this place! I absolutely love the PB&J smoothie with raspberries, strawberries and yummy peanut butter! Great staff too!

First time here to pick up my 3 day cleanse. Melissa was everything!!! Super awesome, personable, intuitive and really knew her ish!!! Totally recommend this place !!

It was a little tough finding this place but it was definitely worth it. I had the Italian whole wheat pasta salad with fresh veggies, olives, and pesto. It was delicious! Will be coming again.

I love The Squeeze! I first discovered The Squeeze line at Westerly Market around the corner on 54^th and 8^th… But I wanted more more more! I then discovered this location (via Unilocal) inside of the Mercedes Club…
If you’re a juice person, or a raw food person, or just trying to eat something that is not only healthy, but super delicious, this location of The Squeeze is one of NYC’s best kept secrets that should not be a secret… So I am here to let the secret out.
Squeeze Favorites:
— Moc n Cheese… So freakin good! Of course, after you go vegan, one of the most difficult things to replace is Mac n Cheese… But not anymore! The Squeeze’s Moc n Cheese has filled the hole that was missing in my heart.
— Kale Summer Rolls… Feeds my kale addiction! These are so light and crispy and crunchy… I think they are the perfect snack… The dipping sauce that comes with the rolls is out of this world amazing… I just pour it all over the rolls. Yum yum yum.
— Living Pesto Pizza… I can’t talk about this pizza. This pizza is so freakin good it haunts me in my sleep. I literally dream about it. If you’re on a raw/​vegan diet, and miss eating pizza, run, don’t walk and get your RAWnchy on :)
— The Sprouted Bagel… The perfect Sunday morning treat… It’s like eating a delicious bagel and cream-​cheese (which I haven’t done in years!) with none of the dairy and none of the guilt.
So yeahhh, if you have any other questions for me… You can probably find me sitting at the counter overdosing on the Living Pizza. Bye!

DUDE. THIS EFFIN PLACE.
First, I live on LI but work in Manhattan, and I absolutely hate getting food delivered, but my job consists of a few break fascists and my weekends are often busy with fun instead of food prep, so I’m often forced to order online.
This all happened today, mere moments ago. Brace yourselves.
I woke up this morning «sick as a dog» (if someone could explain that euphemism to me, that would be lovely). Just a big ol’ ball of snot and nastiness. I came into work and decided to splurge on healthy food to try and combat the illness (I’ve also been mainlining Airborne). Manhattan healthy food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. My order for this place came to over $ 22.00 for a burger and a smoothie. Holy expensive stuck up vegan food, Batman.
I ordered at 12:23 and Grub Hub told me I would get my order around 1:50. I gasped at how long I had to wait, but chalked it up to the laws of Manhattan Food Delivery Physics and just continued to sit at my desk sniffling and being generally miserable.
The time ticks by. It is now 2:00. I decide to wait a bit longer and give them the benefit of the doubt. I call at around 2:16 (HOW’S THAT FOR BEING PATIENT, MOM) and a nice but somewhat harried young woman with what seems like an Eastern European accent tells me that my order «should have come» and she would wait 10 minutes and call me back to see if it has arrived because «the delivery guys never pick up their phones.»
UHHH. OK?
So I wait 11 minutes and call her back, because, of course, she doesn’t call me.
«It’s still not there?» No, I’m just calling to hear your cool accent – OF COURSE IT’S NOT HERE JUST ASK MY GRUMBLING STOMACH.
She then tells me she’s going to wait a little longer and call me back, because the deliveryman «isn’t picking up his phone.» This seems like a problematic business model – you have to be able to call your delivery guys, no? What if one of them is kidnapped with a basket-​ful of your RAW-​some smoothies (you can’t use that without my permission, the Squeeze, so don’t even think about it)? What will Manhattan’s vegans do?! How will you file a missing persons report with the NYPD?
She refunds me the price of the smoothie/​shake/​raw/​fruit/​lock of Zooey Deschanel’s bangs with a shot of Vitamin B thingy, but I’m still paying nearly $ 10 for a burger that isn’t here, so cool
Anyway, I realize that she is most likely not going to call me back given the recent chain of events, so I contact GrubHub (who was awesome throughout the entire process, thank the pagan gods). They contact The Squeeze directly and I quickly get an e-​mail saying my order should arrive at 2:44. At 2:50 I receive a phone call from a gentleman who is a manager (I presume) and he tells me that they lost my order.
YOU LOST IT, EH?! How do you know your impossible-​to-​reach delivery driver didn’t just pop a squat AND EAT MY GODDAMN ORDER?
He promises me double of my order the next time I place an order with them – which is virtually useless because what am I going to do with two raw Vitamin B shakes and two burgers in one sitting? Kinda ruins the entire concept of eating healthy if I’m scarfing down lunch for two.
I ask him if I’m getting a refund and he swears that I «already did.» I’m all, «noooooooo I was refunded for the drink, but not the burger.»
I hang up on him because he is annoying and really bad at being apologetic.
Later on, GrubHub refunds me my entire order and -$ 24.48 and 3.5 hours of my time later and I just ordered a greasy-​ass wrap and two Snapples from the place next door.

This is another one of the Squeeze’s locations. It’s located on the 2^nd floor of the Mercedes Club. There is NO way you would know this, or how to get there since there is no signage. But where there’s a will and desire for a green juice, you’ll find a way.
My recent trip to the location I thought was going to be a quick walk from the 59^th Street Columbus Circle Station. I was wrong. It’s quite a walk, and if you want to schlepp a lot of juice, then you’re in for a real walk on the way back. Since it’s so close to the West Side Hwy, you get a real cold breeze from the Hudson River… brr…
But enough about the logistics. The Mercedes Club is chic and so cool, an adult’s playground with a pool and incredible fitness center. And after a workout or swim, you can find a juice, salad or snack at the Squeeze. There a large bar/​counter area with seats and tables and chairs for you to sit back, relax, eat, drink and be merry. Great combination.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Karliin Brooks, the owner of the Squeeze, very nice.
If you live or work in the Midtown West/Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, you’re in luck. But for me, it was definitely out of the way.
In the summer, I may venture back there with the warm sun and breeze.

Came here for a Unilocal Event: A Vegan Affair at The Squeeze!
Pros:
* Located next to gym in the beautiful & ritzy Mercedes House, The Squeeze offers a plethora of healthy foods from juices, sandwiches, snacks to hot dishes.
* Unilocalers got to sample Moc And Cheese (gluten-​free pasta with raw cashew cheddar on sprouted quinoa pasta), Sweet Potato White Bean Protein Burger (with herbed lentils and chipotle mayo), Portobello, Crimini And Porcini Mushroom Burger (with creamy raw slaw and mustard seed aioli), Kale Chips, and Granola. My absolute favorites were the Granola, and Mushroom Burger– the flavors were spot on and I couldn’t get enough of it! My favorite juice was Squeeze My Pink Lemonade (alkaline water, lemon, coconut nectar and a hint of strawberry). The other juices were way too gingery or distinct-​tasting for my tastes, but hey, other people love it!
* The manager and staff were super friendly and made sure everyone who attended got to try more than 1 serving of everything. Even when my friend and I were sitting farther away she called us back for more samples :)
Cons:
* This location was hard to find, wish they had some signs on the glass door on the outside of Mercedes
* The FunOnions are OK. It’s good for the first couple bites but the novelty soon wears off. They need to be crispier instead of chewy bordering on stale. I bought a box to take home and my boyfriend disliked them. I took it to work and none of my coworkers enjoyed it either :(
Understandably, prices the Squeeze is on the high side! It’s a raw food and juice bar with no cheap processed ingredients. So you have the $$$, and health and clean eating is your #1 priority, then The Squeeze does a pretty good job at creating innovative and distinct foods that you can enjoy.

I am a vegan in the closet. I was vegan for about a year, but then went back to eating some fish and well I secretly will always love vegan and raw food places. That is who I really am and well one of these days, I will come out for good.
There was a small intimate Unilocal event here tonight and I cannot stop raving about this place. Not because it was a Unilocal event, but because I really had a good time.
There were about 20 Unilocalers here and we got top notch service and great samples to try. Never mind that our illustrious and magnificent bearded Ruggy was on hand to shepherd his wayward Unilocaling lambs to yet another cool location. I would’ve never known about this place if it wasn’t for Unilocal.So thanks again Unilocal for opening my eyes to cool and healthy places!
The owner was on site and super sweet. She kept delving out samples and kept us all well fed and happy. I found out through her that there is truck permanently located in Union Square and also Tribeca. They also have a brick and mortar shop in Bushwick. The first juice place in Bushwick. Coolio!
We got to try the moc n cheese, which is gluten-​free pasta with cashew cheese. So delicious without the guilt. We were also able to sample their sweet potato white bean protein burger, the portobello, crimini, porcini mushroom burger and the chili soup! There was also FunOnions (I bought some to take home) and kale chips on hand to try. We also got to try some of the juices and my favorite was the «orange» one made with apple, ginger, cinnamon and turmeric! Everything was fantastic, tasty and healthy!
When we were leaving, everyone got a bottle of alkaline aloe water and it was very refreshing!
I am now curious of all the other locations and will soon check them out! I am curious now very curious about the Mercedes gym and will try to come back again to see if I can work out and try more yummy goodness at the Squeeze!
