Which means we custom design for your lifestyle, workplace, and clothing predilections while also fitting you for a great custom garment. Custom doesn’t start and end with business suits. For women we make dresses, skirts, trousers… even jumpsuits. For the men we cater to your office style but also your casual weekend-​wear like chinos and we anticipate your needs while taking the work right out of shopping.

History

Established in 2013.

Founded by Shao Yang, a veteran of the men’s custom market for over 10 years, The Tailory New York aims to design and custom fit clothing for Women and Men. After working in men’s custom suits for almost 10 years and dressing thousands of men; 2 ideas became clear.

— Women need access to great custom-​made, custom-​fit clothing.

— Men need to start expanding their custom wardrobe from business suits to everything else.

Meet the Business Owner

Shao Y.

Business Owner

Shao Yang is a multi-​faceted, effective and results-​driven fashion designer with over 15 years of design and creative career experience spanning fashion design, fashion visual merchandising/​branding and fashion management. Her design achievements include launching and spearheading innovative collections for new labels from initial concepts to production. Shao’s background in fashion started at Parsons where she earned her BFA in Fashion Design. Upon graduation, she polished off her skills with stints in fashion design, fashion styling, tailoring and brand development. Shao’s love for men’s suiting and the «gentleman» era of dress and style ultimately led her to custom tailoring and the launch of The Tailory New York.
