The manager or owner whichever one he was had the personality of a bull frog. The upstairs quite dumpy, my cigar fell apart and closed early. The only good part is the very nice patron that made it pleasant.

I travel to NY for work at least once a month every month. This place was the closest given my location and looked inviting as a many other cigar shops I’ve been in. I was looking for a place where I can buy and smoke and finish my work day on my computer. Very disappointing with the older person an Asian American tending the store that day. Cost of cigars are very high and I suppose that’s fine given the limits and restrictions for being able to smoke indoors. I asked him if I could use the WIFI as there is not cell phone reception inside the shop. «Sorry only for members» I went back and sat down quietly. I realized got up and left after only smoking for a few minutes. I don’t mind paying for a cab ride, a high premium for a mid range stale cigar and witness the sadness and bitterness of a rude old man, perhaps this owner and employees don’t know the value of customer service or even the value of accommodating old man like me with what now days and even most places provide. If the owner reads this note perhaps you should keep your business a private members only and not sell retail cigars to the public.

The only bad thing is that they don’t open til 4pm. Have to wait all day to enjoy the huge comfortable lounge and unpretencious crowd. Fine selection of top shelve cigars at varied prices. Richard the owner is a real hoot and very knowledgable and friendly. Great place to relax, talk and smoke. Public lounge on main level and private lounge with many cool events downstairs. BYO refreshments and food and enjoy!

I’ve been a member for the past 2 years. I love it and Richard and Rita are terrific hosts. I definitely recommend WSH for all NY cigar smokers!

This place is not CLOSED. It is a private club. Non-​members must be with a member.

This place is great. Richard is very hospitable. On a weekday afternoon I prefer this over GHR. If you enjoy cigars and have some time to chill with a smoke, this is a fantastic stop.
I will definitely be back!

By far the best cigar lounge in NYC. Great space.

I have checked this place out on a few separate occasions and have enjoyed myself each time. Great selection of cigars maintained under appropriate conditions. They don’t bother you at all. Great place for an after work smoke and a great conversation. I only wish they had lunch time hours.

One of my favorite cigar shops anywhere.
As noted by other reviewers, the shop’s biggest asset is its owner, Richard. When I’m in Rich’s shop, I feel like I’m just hanging out at a friend’s home. It’s a classy place for sure, but no pretension, and there’s always something chatted about.
It’s also well stocked with great cigars. My favorites: Arturo Fuente and Padron.
If you’ve been looking to try that Opus X you read about on the internet — Rich has them stocked.

One of the best cigar shops/​lounges in the city, definitely my favorite. The place is huge with leather chair seatings, tvs and a nice selection of smokes. The member’s lounge downstairs is world-​class, with brick wall design, hifi speakers, persian carpets and old school chinese furnitures and lamps.
The owner Richard, what a gentleman, is an ex-​wall streeter and have been smoking cigars for 30 years. He takes care of his customers by offering great services and conversations, I always enjoy my time here chatting with him.
The crowd is kind of a mix, besdies lots of bankers and lawyers, there’s also many local entrepreneurs, architects, designers, etc…
I can spend couple hours here comfortably… afternoons or nights… weekdays or weekends… alone or with friends…

My first visit here was about 9 years ago … I had just finished smoking a very good cigar. Feeling swell, took a-​little stroll before running back to the parking lot. I recall making a turn down warren street just taking in the rays. This was before google maps, Unilocal,no store finder, gps smartphones, ect. By chance I just happened run into this place which was far from it’s current façade. Actually did a double take right before I walked in, entrance layout reminded me of a hardware store. Even back then Rich greeted me and assisted with my first purchase from a B&M.
A few buddies have been raving about how beautiful the renovations were. Last weekend I decided to check them out … I could not believe what my eyes were relaying back to my brain. From the new entrance to the layout of the main floor …
If I was a child (which I am) this would be my candy shop.
As Rich welcomed me in, he allowed me to tour the new lounge downstairs.
Has to be the Mother of all Setups! If he ever wanted a tenant for the lounge downstairs. He would have a waiting list a mile long. From the exposed brick wall to the posh furnishings. Tubed amps, vinyl, a grand piano, personal listening station with headphones, and the speakers in molded ply SWANK.
Words just can’t describe the time, planning, and moneys that went into this revival.
The member’s box /​humidors are the best I’ve seen that are not an exclusive establishment. Again real classy and contemporary. Two huge temp /​humidity control units keep the two level locker area in perfect conditions. Membership fees and requirements are minimal.
Once I was done with the tour, picked up a couple of sticks and smoked away. Plenty of seating available on the main floor. There were a few regulars enjoying their cigars there as well. Very relaxing atmosphere … Peaceful and private comes to mind. Even with one of the Tv’s on, people chatting, I was tuned into another world catching up on emails and well just enjoying my cigars.
The only drawback seems to be the hours and location (If not a resident of Tribeca or employed in that area). Rich said he will be extending hours and such in the near future so that’s great news. The prices were the best I’ve seen in the city with an exceptional selection of cigars. Was impressed with the broad selection of the Opus X (sizes you won’t find unless you know someone). Most of the TaT line, Padron, and others.
A must visit.

Happened in on a free afternoon with some coworkers. A great time was had by all, thanks to excellent advice from Richard, a real gentleman. The atmosphere is seriously relaxed and inviting. I didn’t feel rushed at all, and there is a sufficiently wide selection of cigars to ensure many satisfying visits to come. Really a great find, if a casual smoking spot is what you’re after, look no further.

The renovations have turned a dumpy little cigar shop into a very nice cigar lounge. The addition of the humidor is an excellent idea and makes this a little oasis near Wall St. and City Hall.
The owner Richard is the biggest asset though. He remembers everyones name, what they want and incorporates their ideas to provide a better service. The selection of cigars is good and if you make a suggestion he usually adds the brand you want.

One of the best cigar shop/​lounges in NYC. Open till 9pm so it’s a great place to stop by after work and relax with a nice cigar and good company. Very friendly crowd of regulars and Richard, the owner, will make you feel at home.
You can bring BYOB (no bottle fee). There is a wine shop across the street or 7 Eleven on Church and Warren.
They also have private boxes you can rent and a great space in the basement that’s more private with plenty of TV’s, a piano, stereo, etc.

This business trip to NYC I visited WS Humidor three times. Not far from the Ritz Carlton, Battery Park, which has become my second home over the last five years. I took my business associate there and he like the place so much he insisted we go back the next day. Richard, the owner, could not be nicer. He has an extensive selection of cigars and all the acoutrements. One correction from my last post. The place does not serve liquor BUT you are welcome to BYOB. FYI — great wine shop directly across the street.
Don’t be put off by the initial look of the place. Owner purposely did not change the mom and pop look and feel at street level entrance because he has a lot of locals who obviously do not want or like change.
However the downstairs is like walking into a whole other world. Old exposed brick walls with dark plank flooring with red leather couches, high back chairs and flat screen TV’s. Great ventillation and the private cigar boxes are now completed. His yearly fees on the boxes are minuscule compared to places like the Grand Havana Room (a private club that costs $ 5K for a box). All in all, if you are a serious cigar smoker, this place is a find. A very short walk from the World Trade Center.

Reopened recently after extensive renovations. They have a downstairs area that can be used as a lounge with flat screen TVs. It’s a spacious lounge that has exposed brick and a number of couches and tables that can accomdate groups both large and small. The cigar selection is also extensive and reasonably priced. A fun little cigar getaway in the middle of lower Manhattan.
