Cute specialty wine store in the EV stocked with a great selection of Spanish wine and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I stopped in to pick up a good bottle of wine on the way to Sigiri. I told the gentlemen in the store that I was going to be eating there and needed something that would pair well with the spicy food — I was thinking a red. He mentioned that he dines there frequently, and recommended that it was pretty impossible to stand up to the spicy Sri Lankan food. Instead, he recommended going «Yin-​Yang» on it and have something crisp, light, and refreshing. He suggested (and I bought) an incredible bottle of wine that was very reasonably priced. He actually had one cold in the back — so I walked out with a great chilled Spanish white for $ 15. Incredible!

I love spanish wines. This is the best place in the city to get them! Too often you only find a small section of them in most shops. Txakoli and txakolina are so hard to find… but here they have a great selection. I have never gone wrong with any wines red and white that I bought here. Also I can’t recall the name but there is a fantastic bottle (one of those long bottles) of slighty fizzy white for $ 11. Slightly tart and so perfect for Spring/​Summer!

I wanted to grab a bottle of wine before heading to Sultana a block away. When I asked for a suggestion, the staff handed me a bottle and said, «This is delicious, cheap, and has a relatively high alcohol content.» It’s like they looked into my very SOUL! To top it off, they plugged my name and the bottle into their computer in case I wanted to get the same bottle in the future. Yes, please!
They are always quick with absolutely perfect recommendations, for a broad range of price points.

Truly amazing! We did wine tasting with the owner of the shop on a Saturday afternoon. She explained every single wine and explained what region of Spain we were tasting from. It was such a great experience. We purchased 3 bottles of wine from the shop and everything was very reasonably priced. Not to mention that the wines were delicious!

I got that romantic bottle of wine that fit the tastes of me & my date. It was awesome.

Great little wine shop! This is where I go to get wine when I go to the nearby BYOB places like Sigiri and Panna, both practically next door. The staff is always helpful and they have an excellent selection ranging from Txakoli to white Rioja to dessert wine. And the prices are quite reasonable too.

In the bodega busy streets of the east village it’s easy to settle for a sorta mediocre bottle of wine. But next time, instead of grabbing a $ 15 no name wine out of a cold case, take the time to slip into a little piece of España.
With a wide selection of regional wines at very reasonable price points, you get the feeling that everything had already been hand selected and professionally tested. Stop by the Under $ 15 table for an easy, fast selection. They’ve got every white chilled in the back, just ask the friendly folks working behind the counter.

Great small Spanish wine shop on 1^st Avenue — they keep track of everything you buy so you can remember things you’ve liked — very helpful, informed staff. Very easy to pop in on the way to a dinner party and bring something great.
Good complement to Astor Wines, which is also very close. I really like supporting small shops. And they stock great wines at every price.

Let’s say people actually like you, and invite you into their home. (Don’t get so excited, this is only hypothetical.)
It would be rude to show up empty-​handed. So you should go to Tinto Fino and buy a bottle of wine. The excellent, helpful staff will make excellent, helpful recommendations regarding their vast Spanish selection. And it will be affordable.
If your hosts like good beer, in addition to good wine, pick some up at Dual next door, and everyone will be happy.

I can’t believe it took me four years to find this store, and ten years to finally get into wine.
Tinto Fino is named for the Ribera del Duero’s local name for Tempranillo, the workhorse grape of Spanish red wine. Of course, Tinto Fino has more than its namesake; it also carries a well-​cultivated selection of whites, rosados, and sherries from Catalonia to Malaga. For those who can’t afford the Vega Sicilia Unico, they have a decent selection of wines under $ 15 that you can use to impress your friends or even better, drink yourself.
The highlight of this particular store are the tastings held on Wednesdays (5−8pm) and Saturdays (4−7pm). The wines the store samples aren’t cheap (ranging from $ 15 — $ 25) and very high quality. The salespeople are really nice, and answered all my annoying questions like «What’s the difference between a wine marked crianza and reserva?» Even if you don’t know anything about Spain besides Pedro Almodovar movies and Penelope Cruz, the wine-​drinking and knowledge-​dropping is worth stopping by the store alone.
The owner, Karen, is pretty knowledgeable about Spanish wine, given that she worked for an importer/​exporter for about 10 years. I asked for some books to expand my knowledge of Espana’s various D.O.‘s (denominaciones de origen), and she showed me a couple heavy tomes from her personal bookshelf.
All in all, I would definitely come here again.

I’m lucky to live close to this place. I have gotten a few bottles of wine and bubbly from here and they have all been great.
They also have a section in the back where they have some bottles that are already chilled. The girl that was working was happy to go and grab me one. Very friendly!
My ‘go to’ wine store for sure!

There is nothing quite like Tinto Fino. There was this one Ribera I had in Madrid that I was just DYING to get my hands on, and Tinto Fino was the only wine shop in NYC that carried it. Wines are sorted by region of Spain, so even if you’re looking for something from the Levant or Green Spain, you can definitely find it. Prices start as low as $ 15 and go as high as $ 200 for some bottles of wine. 2001 was a great year for Rioja and you will find plenty from that particular vintage.

I’m not too fond of the wine around the Spaniard region but Tinto Fino will sure educate you on their wine.
I stopped in for their free wine tasting and it sure was a well worth 15 minutes of the day. The server was accommodating and knowledgeable.
The actual store is well designed and worth stopping by even if they don’t have free wine tasting.

No wonder Spain was my favorite place in Western Europe… because even the Spanish wine shops in NY are fabulous!
Everytime I walk by this place it just wanted me to come in… It looks like a pretty exclusive place where they only sell imported Spanish wines and the staff would seem to have something stuck up their butts… not NO!
It’s really cute by the way, the décor was very creative and I loved the use of the mirrors. We walked in hoping to get a few bottles for out BYO dinner. The staff, who were two awesome women were so nice. we even tasted a few before deciding on a Muscadet and a RIoja… and it was not overly expensive at all… the recommended bottles averaged to about 13 $ each. Kaching! :)
Now that I was set to love this wine shop forever, I’m set for dinner! Gracias senoritas, I loved the wine!

One of the best things about this place is it’s right around the corner from where I stay in the East Village. It’s like my own personal wine cellar, if I were really rich and traveled to Spain to buy wine and liked to pour free tastes for fellow wine lovers. At least two of those things are true…
Spanish wines are indeed my favorites by far, but this is a fantastic wine shop regardless! The selection of wines spans all price ranges, from $ 10 to $ 100-​plus, represents a plethora of regions and varietals, and is clearly thoughtfully chosen. The folks here are not just putting lots of bottles out for perusal; they’re offering you ones they know are quality.
Plus, they have free wine tasting some nights in the shop! I went in on New Year’s Eve and had a couple of glasses of sparkling rose. Lovely, lovely… Make this your regular stop for wine; it’ll make you look smart when you take their Tinto Fino brown bag to a party and wow everyone with your very own brilliant selection.

Wonderfully tucked away little Spanish wine shop! Was having dinner just two doors down (best Sri Lankan place) that is byo… and in need of some wine for my spicy food. I was told to come here for wine, and the vendor was brilliantly helpful. Not only did she pick a great reasonably priced wine (all the prices are extremely reasonable here — you can find bottles from about $ 10 to no more than $ 25, I believe) for our dinner, but she was able to chill it within a few minutes! AND, while I waited for this chilling to be done, she gave me a glass to sample. How can the experience get any lovelier?
Since I was there, I got a bottle of cava for a birthday thing later on in the eve and it was a hit. I asked the sommelier to suggest something of the cavas, and she chose, again, a reasonably priced one, that she loved because it was family crafted in a small winery. Now who can hate that?
