I worked with Arianna Ferraro on a few occasions when purchasing clothes at Tom James. I have had nothing but fantastic experiences when dealing with her. Great customer service from getting measured, to my fitting, to wearing the clothing. When I was busy and unable to make it into her office Arianna would make a trip into my office to make life easy as could be. I have purchased 1 suit, 5 shirts, 3 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of shoes, and an assortment of other items. I love wearing everything I have purchased and have run into no issues at all. I have gotten multiple compliments on how the suit fits and looks. Arianna has a great taste and picks out great options for me.
I will most definitely continue working with Arianna and buying great quality Tom James clothing!

I have worked with Tiffany Lee at Tom James since last Spring and have been impressed with the quality of work and the hassle free assistance. Tiffany will come to my office if I am busy and makes life easy. She has a good eye, talks to you about what you like and need and helps find fabrics you might not have considered. So far I have gotten 2 shirts, 2 sports coats and 2 suits and have been impressed with the look, fit and quality. I was there today and mentioned that the pockets in my first suit were a little tight for my wallet (yes, a little too big) and they are going to take it back and give it some more room. So far very easy to work with and I would definitely continue to use them.
I would highly recommend to work with Tom James!

I don’t even know where to start. This place was highly recommended and I was happy to be there and place an order. Everything started out so well until it all became a nightmare. Dealing with two very unprofessional people.
My fiancé and groomsmen were yelled at, hung up on and even called little kids. The manager along with the saleswoman were extremely rude refusing to give us a refund. When we placed the orders they told us they were only able to email our receipts. When asked for the full original copy they refused to give to us saying «why do you need the top part it only has your measurements?». They gave one groomsman a torn copy of the bottom portion and said they wouldn’t give him the top one, when we kept on insisting the saleswoman brought a copy that was freshly written and not the original. We noticed when trying to match them up that it did not fall long the torn lines evenly.
They were given more than enough time to fulfill these orders since one was placed in February and the others in June/​July. The suits did not match the picture that was shown and the colors were totally different. We were never notified that they did not have the color we requested they just went along with what they thought would be best. After asking for a refund they refused over and over. The final fitting for pick up was yesterday Tuesday, September 22^nd, 2015. They had about a month with the suit and the pants were not tapered the buttons were not satin. They said they would possibly have it ready for Saturday, September 26^th, 2015 when my wedding is Sunday, September 27^th, 2015!
This was the worst experience ever!!! We did not leave with the suits and my groomsmen are furious and now have to try and rent something as soon as possible to have it ready for our big day. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone after the distress we have been put through.

I have been working with her for a little over a year. She has made it incredible easy for me to find clothing that fits well, and that I feel great in.
The quality of the product is top notch. A++
Tiffany makes things easy by assisting me and making recommendations to add to my wardrobe so that everything goes well together.
Having clothing in my closet that I know fits me well, makes getting ready for any event much easier.

For some context, I’m constantly on the hunt for quality custom clothing at reasonable prices. I’ve purchased suits and other work clothes from Alton Lane, Suit Supply, MySuit and Tom James as well as off the rack staples — Brooks Brothers, Men’s Warehouse/​JosB (only when desperate — stained shirt before meeting, etc.)
Long story short, the quality with Tom James is pretty bad. I ordered two slacks and 2 shirts from one of their reps. She was a fantastic saleswoman and had me ordering way more than I intended. The final product took 5 – 6 weeks, and as many others have pointed out — the quality and fit were just not right. I went back to have the pants altered (take the seat in) and after a few tries, I just gave up. The pants looked ridiculous and were generally uncomfortable.
You’d be MUCH better off going to Alton Lane, or going to Suit Supply and getting a larger suit taken in (when you’re a bigger guy like me). Seriously, ignore their calls and LNKD messages. Not worth it.

My clothier Hector has been great. I have been working with him since February and over that time bought a custom suit and 3 shirts. Hector has been professional and has made my first foray into custom clothing easy and enjoyable. I have been very happy with the quality of the clothes and look forward to working with him more in the future. I have just received my suit after several rounds of professional fittings to get it perfect so I’ll update my review if I run into any issues with the long term experience but I feel good that they will stand behind their work as they seem genuine in wanting you 100% happy. They are in the business of selling so they do ask for help with referrals but as someone who works in sales I understand that part and was happy to help pass along some colleagues who might benefit from Hector and Tom James. Talking to coworkers who have custom clothing the prices at Tom James are on the higher side but the work is done in the USA so that’s to be expected and they have several different price points to chose from.

This office calls several of my boss’ lines every few months not announcing themselves and acting as if their calls are urgent practically demanding to speak with Directors and Managing Directors. Thankfully I’ve begun to recognize their calls every time they come in and don’t even bother to interrupt my managers meetings and calls for this. If they were smart, they would realize a little courtesy to the assistant could go a long way.
Clearly based on the last two reviews on here, abrasiveness seems to fly across the board with this brand.

I had heard great things about Tom James in the past so when the representative came to our office I elected to get one suit with an extra pair of pants made. The jacket came out fine but the pants were horrible. I was in a rush when I picked up the suit so I didn’t really push back. When I got home and showed my wife the suit she laughed at the pants– there was extra fabric in the helm (apparently this is so the pants don’t tear which makes me question overall quality of the product because I have a ton of off the rack suits none of which not has extra material). In addition to the extra fabric, the pants had no shape which makes me question quality control and craftsmanship. I called up the rep and she came by to take back both sets of pants. The pants took about two weeks to turn around and now while they have shape, the zipper is an issue– it is the longest zipper I have ever seen on suit pants. I took out my other suits and measured those zippers– turns out the Tom James zipper is about an inch or so longer than my off the shelf pants. I placed the order for the suit at the end of July and still have not been able to wear it. I am going to contact the rep regarding the zipper. Regardless of what happens I will never order anything from Tom James again. I would rather spend a fraction of the money and buy multiple suits from suitsupply which is near my office and has a three day turn around on alternations. For reference most of my suits are Hickey and I have a couple of Joseph Aboud.

I had placed an order for a suit and two shirts from Tom James on the same day that my boss had a pair of suits delivered. The next day, when my boss indicated that he wasn’t happy with the suits, I decided to cancel my suit order and test Tom James out with the two shirts first. The two shirts were about $ 130 each. At that price, I would expect to be happy with more than just one of the two shirts. I was actually shocked by the craftsmanship on one of the shirts. Every button that I buttoned got caught on a strand of thread from the poorly stitched button holes. I have also been told since (by two friends and one tailor) that the shirts are too big for me. So much for custom tailoring.
It also took like six weeks to get the shirts, which is slightly confusing.
On the bright side, they did an awesome job on the monograms.

Tom James is a great choice for men’s clothing for those that have tough to fit sizing.
I have a 10 inch drop in my suit (32 wait, 42 chest) and I can never find an off the rack suit that fits.
While quality is not much better than Brooks Brothers, the important part is that you can have clothes made that actually fit.
If you are a standard size and have no issues with off the rack clothing then the price premium probably isn’t the best idea.

Terrible. I paid over $ 3,000 for 2 suits last december and was told delivery would take 8 weeks. 9 weeks later, the first suit arrived. it was ok. everything needed adjustments, which added another week to the delivey time. they also forgot to attach the button to the pants and forgot 2 more times even though i brought it back specifically to have that done in addition to the initial alterations.
here’s the bad part. it’s been 8+ months and i still haven’t received the second suit. it was made for my father and was supposed to be a christmas present. the first one arrive damaged and had to be sent back. they said they would «rush» the delivery of the new one but it would take another 8 weeks. week after week passed and it was never delivered, nor did anyone call me. i called and left messages but got tossed around to different reps and managers.
i was lied to, passed around, and STILL HAVEN’T received the second suit.
it’s terrible service, mediocre quality, and a big waste of time when you realize there are a million places to get custom suits in NYC.
all of my co-​workers have stopped ordering from them and i will certainly never go back. they’re a complete joke.
Update 5yrs later: one of their sales reps cold called me with a snarky email saying I was missing out by not trying their service. I informed them of my Unilocal review and they hung up. two weeks later another rep sent me an email asking if I was interested. I pointed them to my review and they left me alone. these dummies keep calling, I wish they would leave me alone.
oh, and the shirts and suit I bought have not held up well at all. junk.
