My name is Jose Luis Rojas. I am originally from Venezuela and I have been happily living and grooming in New York for eight years. I went to Veterinary School for few years in Venezuela, but by a twist of fate, I moved here in 2002.

I attended classes at the New York School of Dog Grooming and I became certified in 2006. I have worked in places both in and outside of the city, but I have not found the balance that I seek. It has been very difficult to find a salon where the owners believe the dogs are not products and that the quality of work is more important than the quantity. This is the reason that I have created Top grooming NYC… to share with you and your dog the quality and love that I would expect for my own.

Rojas hails from Venezuela, where he completed several years of veterinary school. However, upon receiving an opportunity to come to the US in 2002, he moved to New York City. Continuing his commitment to animals, he received his New York Dog Grooming certificate and worked in upper end dog salons for several years. Rojas was one of the first house-​call dog groomers to avail themselves online and he soon had a large following. He continued his training with Jonathan David, the 2009 Finalist in Animal Planet’s «Groomer Has It» television competition, and worked with David in national competitions. When David left New York in 2009 for Miami, most of David’s «very difficult to please» clients moved to Rojas.
