History

Established in 2011.

Top Notch Security was started by two childhood friends three years ago in New York City. One of the owners was into marketing and the other as a locksmith.

After working for other people for a number of years they decided to open Top Notch Security to provide the most reliable locksmith and security services at a reasonable rate through out the New York City Metro Area.

In three years Top Notch Security has grown from two friends to over 35 technicians throughout Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

After years of serving in the Israeli military, specializing in security technology, Eli opened a security service on the upper east side of New York, Under Eli’s guidance TNS has thrived and expanded operations to almost every aspect of civilian security. Recently Eli decided to opened a showroom in The East Village to make his services more accessible to New Yorkers

These guys. I called them to change an A/​C unit and, dispensing with boring details it wasn’t what I was hoping for. Joseph went out of his way to make me happy, giving me a courtesy re-​installation of the old unit (that they even refurbished), taking the new one back, no questions. Installations were flawless and Matthew left the place squeaky clean. Highly recommended!

My deadbolt key was lost and it took two people to get in. It took over 2.5 hours and they jacked up the price 3x what I was quoted. A friend of mine in the same building had theirs fixed for a fraction the price and time. $ 800+ later all I can say is call someone else.

Very excellent service from dispatch to the guy coming to our site. The dispatcher gave me clear and concise information and my guy was here on time and if he was a minute late he notified me about his status. Last night, he installed a lock and silly of us we locked ourselves out. I had told him about it and he followed up with me within 10 minutes and came straight back to me the same night to fix our lock.

These gentlemen went out of their way to make me a key from a blank that was not a perfect match to my original key. They even assisted to put the key back on my key ring! I was dubious but the keys they made all worked better than my originals. Happy customer!

These guys were awesome, especially Matthew. I lost my keys and was locked out of my apartment for hrs after work and was basically helpless trying to get a hold of my super or a locksmith who could get there anytime soon. I found their number on google and they picked up right away, asked for my address and told me they had someone who could help me and to expect a call.
I got a call a minute later from Matthew aka «ninja» saying he’d be there in 10 – 15 min to help me out, and he was literally there in 15 min. The lock on my door turned out to be incredibly difficult but he somehow managed to master it and get the whole crappy lock mechanism off, and replaced it with a brand new one. Not to mention he had stopped after hrs on his way home and was missing his Mets play in game 1 of the World Series. He was entertaining and enjoyable to hang out with while he was working as well. I hope I don’t have to, but if I ever get locked out again I’m calling these guys again and asking for ninja.

I needed to get a set of keys made quickly, and having walked past this place several times, I figured I would give them a try. The physical space is large, clean and looks very professional, and the people working here were great. They were able to finish my order in a few minutes time and they said if I had any problems with the keys I should bring them right back. Though it was a small job, they did it very well, and I’d come back here again for keys or other security devices.

These people are my LIFESAVERS. I was just on my third day of living in NYC and was feeling very overwhelmed with unpacking and getting familiar with new territory. I ran down to the garbage shoot in my building to throw out some trash and didn’t think to grab my keys, since I didn’t lock the door behind me. It was then that I found out that my door automatically locks. So here I am — no keys, no wallet, no money, no cell phone — NOTHING! I immediately panicked and my dog, who was locked inside decided to go on a nonstop barking rampage. Keep in mind I am new to the building and a barking dog does not make for new friends. So immediately the panic set it!
Some neighbors in the building let me use their cell phone to call the super but no answer. Finally I made the decision to go to Top Notch. Luckily I knew where they were located since they made key copies for me just two days ago. When I arrived at Top Notch the door was locked and no one was inside — more panic!!! However, they had several signs posted with an emergency 24⁄7 number. Since I didn’t have a cell phone I had to ask numerous people to borrow theirs — all of who said no. Finally a kind soul let me borrow his cell phone. At this point I was so helpless, overwhelmed and upset, I had tears rolling down my face. I called the 24⁄7 number and they picked up immediately. They could sense the anxiousness and upset in my voice and quickly assured me they would get me into my apartment ASAP. They let me know that a locksmith would meet me at my address in 30 minutes and calmed me down.
30 minutes later I was greeted by the locksmith who got me back into my apartment in seconds and allowed myself to calm down — as well as my dog! I cant thank these guys enough for the quick and prompt service. It cost $ 120 to get back into my apartment — not sure if that is the going rate, but at that moment in time I would have paid anything!
