Tribeca Dental Club

I didn’t actually have an appointment there but after speaking with Olga on the phone I’m surprised anyone ever would. She was cold and rude. I like my doctors and their staff to be warm and inviting.

They were fine for a cleaning, but then quoted me all this work for $ 3000 (that’s even with insurance). I never returned, so they called up to negotiate down to less…$ 800. I told them it was too late — that I had found another Tribeca dental place who was only going to charge me a co-​pay of $ 100.
Also, I noticed that they re-​branded to «Tribeca Dental ‘Clinique’»…trying to hide from their bad reviews?

I found this place on ZocDoc. Great find! It was convenient to me as its about a 5 minute walk from my job. The reception area had a nice soothing fountain and I was greeted by the smiling ladies at the front desk. The waiting area is a bit small and cramped but luckily I was the only one waiting there at the time so it didn’t bother me.
I was there for a dental cleaning and the dental hygienist saw me in a matter of 5 minutes. The cleaning was thorough and not painful at all (which is a relief because most dental care experiences I had have been painful). The dental hygienist explained what was going on with my teeth in a pretty comprehensive way. Similarly when I met with the dentist, she was kind, patient and provided in-​depth explanations.
I was impressed by the office and will definitely return.

I’ve been using Tribeca Dental Club for a number of years and I’ve always found the staff to be very professional; friendly and providing a holistic approach to dental care and hygene, which I appreciated.

I’ve been to many dentists around Manhattan over the years and my teeth have finally found a home. Dr. B is terrific and the office staff is helpful and really care about my teeth. I had an issue with the periodontist they use and they cleared that up for me and now they use a different perio when I need one. My tooth hurt for a year and no other dentist found anything wrong (they all just kept recommending deep cleaning) but Dr. B found a crack and took care of it. Will definitely be sending my wife and kids here.

It took 5 appointments to replace one crown! At one point in this ordeal, the crown was off, the post exposed and the periodontist left the room and they sent the receptionist in to tell me I needed an oral surgery procedure that was not covered by my insurance, but she would ‘give me a good deal’. Not what you expect to hear when you are sitting there literally helpless.
I like Dr. B (the dentist) and I think she does good work. I just felt taken for a ride by the whole experience. They have since let that horrible receptionist go, so perhaps things will get better. That said, the whole experience has turned me off of dentistry!

first, they tell you that their philosophy is to treat the whole body. then, they use lots of fancy devices to tell you how horrible your previous dental care has been. then, they tell you that you need 5 cavities filled, a root canal, and special toothpaste/​mouthwash, that will cost you thousands of dollars. then, they tell you that each of these things is basically emergent. when you ask how much the recommended procedures will cost, the dentist will tell you that she «doesn’t concern herself with cost, only your health,» suggesting that she is either naïve about the pricing of her procedures or disingenuous, but in any case, oblivious to the realities of her patient’s life. then, they tell you that your insurance will only cover ¹⁄₅^th of it. then, you’ll get a second opinion and be told that you have one cavity that should be filled, and that everything else either looks good or should be monitored over time, but that no action need be taken now.
there is obviously informational asymmetry between a doctor and a patient, but i found it impossible to trust the people in this office.

I booked an appt on ZocDoc and they said that this clinic took my insurance. The office called me to confirm my insurance.
I called my insurance to confirm that they are in network.
They are not. I wish they would’ve told me in this in the first place.

My family and I are into our 7^th year with Tribeca Dental Clinique. I require frequent visits due to a legacy of problems that come on as I age, and Azar and the staff have done a wonderful job of keeping me healthy. And don’t forget to use the massage table downstairs…

they’ll tell you that you have a lot of problems and need crown, root canal, refilling, you name it, of course, the estimate came out to few thousands $$$$. I went to another dentist who is a friend of my husband, (but located really far from where we are) just to get second opinion, she said i have simply one small cavity which does not require crown… just be aware, you’ll be ripped off.

2 wisdom teeth pulled, 1 cap, 2 fillings… multiple cleanings
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Not only does the Doctor go over all of your options — she takes the time to explain everything that will happen depending on your choice. Even when I am not being treated by her, she will always recognize me and come by to say hello! Her staff is warm and welcoming as well — they go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and at ease. I have never waited longer than 5 min to be seen, and they have been lenient with me when I run a little late!
In fact, she first saw me as a walk-​in — I was so impressed that I ended up switching my dentist to her full time 2 years ago and I haven’t looked back since!
The use of the latest tech is a real plus. Even the mechanism she uses to inject the novocaine makes the process pain free! It is something that should be standard in ALL dentist offices.

2 root canals, 4 wisdom teeth pulled, 6 cavities filled in and 2 years later, here I am! This place has been my savior with regards to dental hygiene. Its an easy, convenient walk from my job, they have good hours and an excellent staff who help you with anything that you may need. Sometimes they are a bit unsure of insurance policies so you should double check with your insurance if you have any copayments. Other than that, I only have good things to say about this place and I’ve recommended them to everyone I know.

Unless all of your teeth are about to fall out of your mouth, and every other dentist in New York City is on vacation, you should not go to this dentist. I had a horrible experience here. The staff is nice enough, but every other part of my experience was horrible.
After my cleaning I was forced to sit and watch a 15 minute video about a new test for oral cancer. The video was an amalgamation of a bunch of sensational news reports on the test. They described the horrors of oral cancer, and implied that it was completely outrageous that the test wasn’t free. Sitting in a dental chair watching horrible images of oral cancer and feeling not-​so-​subtly pressured to get this expensive test is pretty much exactly what you DON’T want to have happen when you go to the dentist. I opted out of the test.
I had a couple cavities, so for some mysterious reason I agreed to let this dentist fill them. I went in for the appointment on my lunch hour. I sat and waited for about 30 minutes to be seen. The dentist was working on someone else, so at first she anesthetized me, then went back to other patient for a while. When she finally came back to start my filling, close to an hour after my appointment was supposed to start, the drilling was more painful than it should have been.
After the filling was in the dentist told me that it was only a temporary filling, and that I needed to go back that weekend to get the tooth pulled. She then hurried to her next patient before I could ask any questions about the procedure. At this point it finally became clear to me that I should not be using this dentist’s services, and I suggest that you do not either.
