Americans are challenged with maintaining a normal weight in the face of many obstacles; advertising of fast food, lack of exercise, financial constraints, and more. Until now, the options to address the need for sustainable weight loss have been few. Diet and exercise alone have a very low rate of success. Surgery is reserved for the patient at about 100lbs over their ideal weight. Yet 33% of U.S. adults are just «overweight» and would not qualify for or want surgery.

The Gastric Balloon has just been FDA approved and is available now by a qualified physician who specializes in weight loss and weight loss procedure. This saline filled balloon, is inserted endoscopically (camera through the mouth), with mild to no sedation, in under twenty minutes. It is removed at six months. Combined with diet and exercise, the balloon has been shown to achieve successful weight loss.

Tummy Bubble was founded in 2015 by Matthew R. Brackman, MD, FACS but Dr. Brackman has been treating patients suffering from obesity for over 15 years. To address the BMI 30 – 40 population, for which historically there has been no treatment option other than diet and exercise, Dr. Brackman has opened two clinics: In Manhattan, NY and in Springfield, MA.

Dr. Brackman attended Tufts University, and Boston University Medical School, graduating in 1997. After completing residency training in general surgery in Washington, DC, and a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the Ohio State Medical Center, Dr. Brackman dedicated the next decade and a half to the treatment of the obese patient, while accumulating accolades including membership to the ASMBS, SAGES, The New York Medical Society, The Massachusetts Medical Society and more. Now he is pioneering new technology including the Gastric Balloon to treat patients suffering from obesity.
