Located on the 2nd floor of Port Authority Bus Terminal, this small yet cozy USO provides Military personnel and their dependents a place to relax and chill before they go on with their business or bus ride back home or to their training site. They have a small computer lounge with two MACS and two PCs. They have 2 rooms with couches with TV and a Soft Drinks fridge(Coke, Water, Gatorade, Sports Drink) located inside the Computer Room. They also have free coffee and snacks as well(though quite limited) and there’s a wide range of NYC maps, tourist guides, Broadway Show ticket guides/discounts, etc. Staff are usually very friendly and welcoming. Downside might be that you would have to use the PABT restrooms but it’s only a short walk away(like 3 minutes?) on the same floor and that they do not have a CAC Card Reading Machine. You can however print documents or make copies(Military-related documents only) Not a bad place to come chill for a while if you’re in Times Square and need to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few hours and use the Internet, make a phone call in a comfortable setting. I still can’t figure out why LGA and JFK doesn’t have a USO… oh I heard JFK’s getting one soon but that’s gonna be a while before I get to use it. If you’re military, definitely worth visiting and checking out!

As a former volunteer at this location, I can honestly say that the people who run this office on a day-to-day basis are awesome. They genuinely care for and want to help visiting active duty servicemembers and veterans. Some volunteers have been volunteering since the 1950s! You can get tickets to the Metropolitan Opera, Metropolitan Ballet, Broadway, baseball games, museums, and other popular attractions here. The snack bar is always stocked with Girl Scout cookies, chips, soda, water, coffee and tea. There are computers available for use, a big screen TV, a piano, a children’s play area, a reading area, and allthat good stuff. If you’re not in the Armed Forces, this is a great place to volunteer. The environment is very relaxed. As a volunteer, I got to befriend some old WWII and Vietnam veterans who are more than willing to entertain you with priceless stories of their time in the military. All in all a good place to be.

USO of NYC — Thank you for all the awesome services you provide to those in the Armed Forces. You guys provided entertainment for me while I was deployed in various locations of the Middle East and other locations that most people will never go to. This NYCUSO provides service members & their families with free tickets to Broadway Shows, plus many other benefits.
